Seriously! I'am amazed by the quality of this phone. It's not because i bought it. It's because i compared it to other phone Like Galaxy S and G1 and of course my HD
The phone is fast and reactive. The application i installed are very stable and works without problems.
And the Games are actually high Level despite those made from PS1 that sucks because of the limitation of the catalog. (I wait for games from Square Soft titles)
I tried Neogeo emulation and played with the pad. I can tell for sure that any move or combo can be performed easilly. Precision is almost like the PS3 Pad and much more better than the PSP.
In fact i completly forgot my PSP since i got this phone. I don't use it anymore...
Last thing I tried was using the pad to control the mouse of my PC with Teamviewer and it worked ! You can move accurately the cursor with the direction and use the X button to click /Double click. Of course other actions could be performed via the screen.
Great potential for this year, I just hope that Sony will keep updating the device frequently.

Hello Everyone,
I haven't seen anyone start a post for this yet so I thought I would get the ball rolling. The only edits that have been made to these photos is resizing and reorienting. I've also made some comments at the very end.

I know some of the critics knock the XPlay for not having the best camera, but I think hardware-wise it is pretty decent. The problem is the software that it comes with, which is the native android camera app. It kinda sucks!
* No touch to focus
* No metering options (which really blows....highlights and all)
* No focusing square to tell me what it's focusing on (it highlights the whole screen)
Thankfully since it's a software issue hopefully it will be remedied...either by Sony for the hacking community trying to port over the Xperia Arc/Neo Software.
Anyways, please post ur photos if you have a XPlay!
Here are some if mine

My son, Taken in darkness
Pictures of one of the "knights" at Camelot, my dog, and my daughter feeding the goats at Camelot. I'm fairly sure you can work out which is which!
I find the flash tends to wash out the pictures, but I believe this is true of all camera phones with LED flashes.
BLT hehe

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, I use the Vignette app rather than the stock camera. Lots if options available there.

Can you adjusting the metering with the vignette app?
Amongst the many other settings, yes.

Those look cool. Kind of look like toys.
When my Galaxy SII go flying.
Put your S2 in flight mode, fix it to something that flies, and post the videos - at least, that's what I intend to do!
A few years ago, I started flying RC planes and I ended up strapping my Nokia N93 (and then n93i) to the planes and filming (with mixed results). Last year I duct taped the GS2 to the underbelly of a small plane and was surprised when it worked well... what next?
This year, I built my first multirotor "heli" (QuadX) - How could I not strap my Galaxy S2 to it?! It's a much better aerial video platform.
In my latest adventure, my quad gets circled by a formation of birds - I managed to capture some of it on the video ..
(best in 720p)
From now on, I will just use this same thread to post newer videos as I know some of you like seeing them. Sometimes I track the flights with MyTracks, I might post the files here if anyone is interested.
Happy flying and please remember to put your phone into flight mode before launch! Having said that, I wonder if I could track the phone using samsungdive if it's in flight mode because it would be a great lost aircraft thing!
________________________________
If anyone else is thinking of trying this:
- if your surface is smooth, dry and vibration free, duct tape works wonders
- if vibration is present and the surface is uneven, odd, whatever, try foam and cable ties (zip ties)
I'd be great to see other Galaxy SII airborne adventures!

Other videos of the S2 flying:
A bit shaky at times but otherwise OK
The one where the phone fell from the sky (some of you may have seen this one already)

Hey,
Just finished developing another app.
This time it's AirDraw.
What it actually does is flashes the letters of a word that you enter according to your phone location when you are waving it.
The outcome is like you are drawing in the air.
Its downloadable via Google Play for free (a little admob ad is inside, thats the reason it needs an internet access permission)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ValkA.airdraw
here is a slow shutter photo I shot while waving the phone (thats on LCD, which isn't that good for that purpose):
If you like it you are welcome to Like my facebook page.
ps.
notice that the app is at early stage, so any ideas are welcome !
LCD has slow response time, but AMOLED should be better.
I haven't tried that on AMOLED display so i'll be happy to hear about your experience, if possible some slow shutter photos are very welcome and will very help me to improving the algorithms.
Does it have to have full network access?

In super amoled it works perfectly
Inviato dal mio GT-I9070 con Tapatalk 2
It worked really well, some improvements could be made into visibility and sometimes it turned a word around but further it worked flawless

I know that issue, shouldn't be a problem to fix it in the next updates.
bleeeeeeek, it needs internet access only to show an AD (that is my motivation to keep developing free apps)
have you guys seen the new META watch?
looks pretty cool

As one of the XDA reviewers and long time users of both STRATA and FRAME, I'm drooling over this
The Verge just did a write up as well: http://www.theverge.com/2014/1/6/5277128/metawatch-meta-premium-smartwatch-brand
Coincidentally, Pebble going to introduce Pebble Steel which is the same as regular one but with a metal frame/bracelet, but it's nowhere near as elegant as this one. Sorry, but I think it was brilliant how they incorporated 4 corner buttons as part of the bracelet buckle (obviously Frank Nuovo design). Also, fantastic move to switch to epaper display.
Can't wait to test it out!!!
yeah really like the new steel pebble, the matte black with leather strap looks really nice
still, wish HOT Watch would be getting here sooner, really want to try the private calling function, if it's not to my liking i'm interested in something else
Btw, I haven't seen anybody confirm those hinges are secured by 4 corner buttons. I'm just assuming they are keeping functionality unchanged since the original MW has 6 buttons and going down to 2 would be too much of a change. I'm also curious if it's going to be waterproof like FRAME and if they're going to use a similar charging clip or something else, maybe magnetically attached one? As soon as I find out more details, hopefully after CES, I will post it in here.
I am more excited if there are much faster development on the Android software front!
I like the new hardware of course but at the moment pebble steel wins overall due to the solid development work on both official and unofficial software.
Still praying hard for my metawatch frame to be revived with this new announcement!

You never know what your little one may be up to. I know my baby is planning something but I don't know what. I'm convinced that the small dude is working with the house cat to strategically place legos around the house for me to step on. I must gain access into their private meetings so I can put an end to this.
I could install some video surveillance but have you seen the price of baby monitors? And they're not even that great to begin with! Well the best option for me is to use an old Android device that no longer gets any love. I can position this in my baby's crib (somewhere out of reach) and use an app to keep and eye on things.
The app that you can use is called Dormi and it's free on the Play store. This will use your old device as a camera and stream live video to your current Android device. The features on here are designed specifically for monitoring a baby. The intelligent audio feature will mute the mic when the baby is asleep then raise the volume as soon as is hears crying. You can even use a talk button to have a little chat with your baby.
Notifications will alert you when sound or movement is detected. Now you'll be able to catch your baby red handed when they're up to no good.
Download Dormi - Baby Monitor
Fantastic reviews on the Play store give this app a 4.4. It's the best way to monitor your baby's activity while you're away.
glad to know about this baby monitor you shared. I am using a video baby monitor over 4 months. Not bad serve well. Here is that one http://www.peekaboobabycollection.com/top-3-best-baby-monitor-twins/ Much more reliable.
Baby monitors are the best Thing to check your baby activities. It is the best product available for your baby safety. We are both working and we are using it from last 7 months. Believe me buy it and it will make your life comfortable.
Nice idea about baby monitor. Should it be with sensors??
I have been using it with an old Galaxy tablet for the past months; it's very useful and on noises it turns the screen of the parent device.
