That's it. No more ASUS Transformer for me.
Lol one's portable, one isn't. Its apples and oranges...

Omg .. it is great!!!
Im wondering samsung would make one for my galay tab 10.1v @@
The pack looks quite ugly compared to the transformer.
But if it only costs about 50$ and has some usbs it's a fair price for a keyboard desk dock.
I hope it isn't one of those accesories we see but never come out.

Meh, he hated the Xoom, a lot of bloggers hated the PlayBook. I for one, am one of the few who actually thought it was good.
EDIT: I DON'T CARE IF MY CAPS LOCK IS ON, WE NEED THAT BACKGROUND, I NEED THAT THING ON MY XOOM, that thing looks gorgeous!

Wow could that guy be more objective. Only thing I liked was the wallpaper which I have. Keyboard... if I really want a keyboard to carry around I would prefer my Bluetooth. Much better when xoom is connected to my TV. No led flash? He stated performance over and over. I have had no problems with performance. Asus has price advantage that's about all I got out of that.

Consumer Reports rated the Xoom the second best tablet behind the iPad 2.
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk
Lol. The only thing I got out of that review was that the I PS display is nicer which I already knew. Other than that the xoom wins with 3/4g. Nice review.
And the keyboard is optional...costing an extra $150.

I ordered a 16GB Eeepad Transformer with the dock for $550. Can't touch a 32GB WiFi only Xoom for that.
The guy did give a very shiny review, and may not have been completely fair to the Xoom since it has had updates since he reviewed it... but the Asus does have some value for it's price.
As someone mentioned on another forum, Moto is going to have to reevaluate the price point. When they first came out, they had no real competition in the Android tablet market. The Xoom could only really be compared to the iPad, which is pretty insanely priced.

Really think you should compare apples to apples rather than oranges. The 32GB Transformer is $500 so still $100 cheaper than the Xoom. With dock it's $650.

if you include the official kb for the xoom at retail - not special reduced price - it's $670 with no dock or anything included to hold it up.
minus would be no usb port for the transformer without the dock. if i were docked i'd love to hook a hard drive. minus for xoom is that you won't have usb host without root.
Hey ... What is the name of that background?
And how to get it? Via Market?
That's very nice ...

It's in the Themes and Apps section.

With speech to text, which works quite a bit better on my Xoom than on my Android phone, keyboards are not nearly a necessity as they used to be. I showed a die hard Apple guy at work how STT worked on my Xoom, and he was stunned. I made sure to point out iPad and iPhone didn't have that capability.
Even tough he shouldn't have slammed the the Xoom so hard; I fully agree in his right to state what he likes best and whatnot.
The reviewer failed to understand that he was comparing against the original android version on the Xoom not the updated version that we have today. He also failed to notice the glitches in the keyboard dock that was found in the anandtech review which was a far better assessment. The build quality is not up to Motorola's level. Why do some reviewers often compare prices of a wifi only product with the 3G Xoom? Checkout the below link. Take note of his final words.

Because a $300 premium is too much to justify just a modem.
I do agree with your other points regarding Honeycomb software versions on the Xoom. At the same time, I believe the anandtech reviewer stated that the dock was running a preproduction firmware and that Asus said that would be addressed in th final firmware.

Thank you. I was about to point this out.
The Eee Pad Dock = $149 (includes extra battery, ports, trackpad)
Moto Keyboard - 69.99 + Moto Portfolio Case - 39.99 = $110
So the difference is really $40 and you're actually getting something for that money.
I just got extremely lucky, I purchased a brand new xoom wifi on ebay. For $485. So I'm happy with the price. And for that price it's beats the 16gb transformer any day.

Sorry, but it's $210 more for the 3g/4g Xoom than the wifi Xoom, not $300.
The wifi Xoom (at $590) is $90 more than the 32gb Transformer (at $500).
You can't compare the $400 16gb Transformer to the $800 32gb 3g/4g Xoom.

Reviewer clearly just can't afford the XOOM and is slamming it to justify his purchase of the underdog.

We're all nosy buggers!
If it were me I'd go for the SGT 7.7
As for where the screen repair can be done I have no idea...maybe you could try it yourself with a little help if you can locate and buy a replacement screen!?
Maybe a bit too big for you but I've played with the GT 8.9 and it is SWEET.

ive look at that but lack of support from xda is holding me up i had a taste of ics and realy want something with that os
I'd love to get the Galaxy Tab 7.7 personally, the AMOLED screen looks great and it's still portable enough.
Price is very high though.
As for the screen, I'd buy a replacement from Ebay and fix it myself, if that is too scary, you could try a phone repair shop or something.

Agreed.
I Googled it for a laugh and saw prices of over £550
...too rich for me at the moment
I'd recommend the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. It doesn't have the AMOLED screen of the 7.7, but it's wifi, off contract, has a microSD slot, and for $400 is a good price. I currently purchased the 7.0 plus to take the place of my aging OG Galaxy Tab and I'm extremely happy. It's like my 10.1, but smaller!
Hi,
I'm actually searching a new tab too.
I have seen the Acer iconia tab A100.
But I fear that the battery will drain too fast ...
In addition I think that the screen of the A100 is worst than the galaxy tab.
I have seen the galaxy tab 8.9 but it's not the same budget ...
I would also prefer the galaxy tab 7.7 for me it would be the perfect size. But its not available in germany and toooo expensive. Otherwise it would allready be mine

psssss....Amazon has them for $350 (The 7.0+'s I mean)
I'm really not getting on with my new 32gb iPad and want to go back to android.
Or maybe I should wait for the Infinity

Sounds like a naff deal, the transformer prime is WAY better than the ipad3
Sent from my LT18i using Tapatalk 2
You'd be lucky if someone wanted to trade a transformer 1 for it. lol
You probably want to go through and look for people complaining on these forums.. but the thing is, people who complain usually have hardware issues, so I'm not sure if you wanna trade for that anyway. Is the iPad not returnable?
is it ipad2? i,ll swap my tf101, im willing to swap my own android addiction so that my daughter can fullfill her apple addiction.
No its an ipad3 32gb wifi, with Logitech keyboard case and smart cover.
Not to worry, eBay shows they hold their value very well. I just need to find a 2nd hand prime.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
what holds their value? i would love the dock for this but the bloody thing is so dear cause it fits the rest, is the ipad3 that bad or is it cause ur so used to android, surely u dont need a tab as ur galaxy nexus is half the size of one!!!
Just realised there's a transformer prime forum.
Sorry guys. I still had this bookmarked from when I had a tf101.
Cheers.
I have a 32gb Prime with the keyboard
that I would be willing to trade. There are a few scratches on the case.
Well if I had a prime I would trade you in a heart beat. I got my transformer back last week from repair and been using a iPad 2 for a whole month. Going back to the transformer I get pissed off with the lag and browsing on this site is a pain in the ass with the advertise box keeps popping up.

Do you realize this thread died 9 months ago?
Just looked at a few reviews for the 10.1 tab 2. Most of them said get something else. $400 you can get a number of better tablets with a lot more features and quad core. Maybe I"ll stick with the excite....
Get the tab 2 7in for 250.
Or if you have 400 to spare, the Asus TF300T.
Sent from my YP-G70
Almost every review I read said the original tab 10.1 is better. They said if it had been $349 it could have been a winner but at $400 its way way over priced for what you get. Its like Samsung took 2 steps back instead of forward. They also said the dual core cpu in the tab 2 is very under powered for most stuff. Wow very disappointed :-(
The omap on the tab 2 7in is not under powered. It is a dual core CPU. It runs better than other processors that are clocked higher. For 250 right now you aren't going to get more bang for your buck than the tab 2 7in. Omap runs better than s3 in my rezound.
In the past month I've had five tablets, all seven inch and this by far is the best.
Bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 Wifi on Craigslist for 150. It was okay but limited to froyo.
Traded that for a Nook Color and I hated the screen. ICS ran okay though.
Sold the Nook and bought a Kindle Fire at best buy for 200. It was awesome compared to the Nook.
Returned that and got an Acer A100 Iconia Tab for 250. It was sweet and real quick.
Returned that and got this and 10 bucks back.
I'm happy now and I'm keeping this. The wife thinks I'm crazy but I just wanted something I'd be happy with.

I definitely agree -- this device is the best bang for the buck right now. I stepped up from a Kindle Fire to this for several reasons:
- External Storage
- GPS
- Bluetooth
- ICS that works out-of-the box!
- Volume buttons (yes, seems odd to list this, but coming from a Kindle Fire with no buttons, it makes a difference)
No regrets. All devices have drawbacks - at least for this one the hardware is there and software updates can hopefully address some of the weaknesses over time.

Awesome deal with the keyboard dock included! Unfortunately I would have to sell my Nexus 7 which isn't going to happen for a while.
Damn, I would be all over this if I didn't agree to get a Transformer with keyboard already.
