Jan 29 In New York City my X1a on Tmobile showes an EDGE signal than at 7pm it switched to a Big H signal with full bars where ever I went. Then at midnight it switched back to Edge. Was Tmobile running a test for their new network and can x1a get 3g speeds on this network?
no it's most likely that you roamed on to AT&Ts network...
I turned off my phone then went to connection settings. I made sure I wasnt roaming it was tmobile and when i roam to ATT it usually displays a 3G signal
Interesting... Did you notice faster download speeds?
I'm also on T-mo in the Northeast, so I'll keep my eye on it.
you won't always know when you are roaming. The carriers are doing a lot to hide the fact that you are not using their network...
anyway... if you are using TMO, when even have 3G enabled??? kinda waste of battery power....!
Anyone live or work around downtown Columbus, Ohio?
My friends and coworkers get horrible sprint coverage in downtown on 3g and 4g.
I know sprints building penetration is bad but 3g is faster than 4g. Verizon let and at&t 3g destroys our coverage and speeds on many different sprint phones.
Anyone else experience this in Columbus, Ohio in the downtown area. It's supposed to be the best 3g/4g coverage.
Swyped from my HTC Evo with Eternal Prophecy 6.0 ROM.
I live about 45 minutes north of Nashville, TN and I can't wait for the LTE to move up this far. How long do you think it would take AT&T to extend their LTE coverage up about 20 more miles into the city of Bowling Green, KY?
I'm currently on x829 USA variant of the Le Max 2. I've noticed that for me switching to H+ gives way faster data speeds. I'm in USA on Metro PCS. I'm using t.mobile apns. Just thought I would let some people know, depending on your area H+ may bring faster data speeds. I've noticed this on all Roms. I guess it depends on your location and where the cell towers are located and traffic congestion. What are your thoughts?
Bottom is LTE with great upload speeds. Top is H+ with better download speeds. Basically when I switch to H+ I can stream Instagram videos no problem without loading. It totally depends on the area your in as well I know.
H+ is 3G HSPA+, it is much slower than 4G LTE.
my area the (t-mobile) LTE network speed is over 100mpbs all the time ....

?!?! This sounds insane! What's the trick? Do you bribe T-Mobile in your area with cookies?!
Max speed of H+ is 63 Mbps. LTE is much faster but it depends on your area coverage.
Hi everyone,
Does anyone purchase this phone in CA, USA with Tmobile? Does LTE 4GB work for you OK?
I checked on https://willmyphonework.net/ USA, T-Mobile and the results were:
2G
1900MHz Device is compatible with the network carrier
3G
1900MHz Device is compatible with some of the network carriers frequencies. It may work.
4G
Band4-AWS Device is compatible with some of the network carriers frequencies. It may work.
Thank you!
I have it in Santa Clara, CA (Bay Area), its working pretty well.
I hear some bands are not supported, but I've yet to see a network drop.

Thanks, how fast do you get for 4G LTE speed?

I'm getting 40 to 50 Mbps consistently
I use it in Puerto Rico and Florida with Tmobile. I can get 80mbps. It connects to Band 4.
I'm about 30 mins north of Los Angeles and my LTE speeds are up and down. I was in the West LA area yesterday and I was seeing 22Mbps. Locally I'll see less than 1Mbps, to 12, to 22Mbps in the late evening.
I just arrived to NYC for short vacation. Tried buying T-Mobile travel SIM card (30$ for 2gb od data and 1000 minutes) but IT didnt worked at all. Guy in the store wasnt able to make IT work. So, im little bit disapointed..
I live in Florida with T-Mobile, it works but it's either 2.5G or LTE you cannot 3G or HSPA+, so if you get bad coverage it will switch to 2.5G which is extremely slow. But other then that it works great. Speeds are good with LTE
Works great in Long Beach CA, USA. 4g and decent reception. Very happy so far.

Techeretic, what APN settings are you using? I'm also in Santa Clara but can only get 3G on this phone. Thanks.
I just got my Mi A1 and I'm in the Riverside area in Temecula. I have been stuck with 3g so far, never had a 4g connection yet. I have the global version that says it supports bands 1(2100), 3(1800), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800), 38(2600), 40(2300). Am I missing something here? Is there another version other than global that you guys are using that supports different bands?
