freezing after try to implant new Kernel! - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

hey community
today I tried to change the kernel of my Leo @ Android. The current android I am running is this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893620
I have a Leo512 and try to change kernel for getting a better battery duration. For running android on my Leo I use MAGLDR 1.13. I flashed Rafpigna V40, MDJ v4.0 and tytung in all different versions but none is working. the best result i get is starting over magldr and getting to the bootscreen. Then it freezes. I flash it with CWM Recovery and always clear the dalvik cache after flashing a new kernel.
any mistakes I make or any solutions?

Not sure if it matters, but did you even root the rom? Because Cotulla's rom does not come rooted, so CWM might not have access to the rom, hence not being able to change the kernel and other libraries.
Anyways, try a different rom then since coulla's rom is well sort of "primitive". Try say prj's desire rom, it's the same but rooted and some other stuff. Or you can try imika's sense roms, but they're slower than desire roms since they have more eye candy. Or you can try boyppc/something similar, desire rom.

Well correct me if i'm wrong but the rom is rooted. Theres an app called superuser installed
How to root that Leo @ android??

Issues with installing Android 2.2 on my HD2

Hi everyone,
I need help with android on my HD2. I put on my HD2 the Android 2.2 OS but there is no sounds and calls have robot like sounds (can't even make out words that are spoken). I have been having the same problem no matter what I do and how many times I redo the installation process. I even installed HSPL3 and went from a 2.10 radio to a 2.08 radio still the problem persist. And yes i did tap on CLRCAD before taping on HaRET. Someone please help...
The Robot Voice is a known issue. However, some cooks have fixed the issue in their custom ROM's. Why don't you check them out.

x2.
certain rom+radio combinations are better than others in terms voice call quality. e.g., chucky rom+latest radio works good with mattc's froyo sense, miri's rom seems to work well with darkstone's builds, etc..
I went through most of the threads of there but in vain

You just have to experiment, or look around in user's signatures, and see what build combo's they are using.
i've tried this so many times to no avail, the sound is very low plus i get tke robot voice and after the second call it does not sound anymore. Also there are no ring tones, everything works but the audio. This is what I'm running:
Froyo Stone with sense, my radio is 2.10.50.26 everything is in the SD card, also how can I access the sd card? Thank you so much for any help you cab give me.
well ill give you my tip on how to resolve your problems. i did this to my phone and now i can run android FLAWLESSLY on my HD2.
1.go to tmobiles site and download the latest STOCK rom for your HD2.
2. run the program to install it so that you have the newest stock rom on your phone.
3. install HSPL 2.08 and MAKE SURE its HSPL and not SPL.
4.after installing that, install a custom WM rom of your choice(im using the WM bare bones by NRGZ28)
5.then install a new RADIO rom( i am using the Leo_RADIO_2.12.50.02_2)
6.download and install the ANDROID ROM of your choice(i am using MATTC's NeXus one 2.2 OTA operating system)
7. reboot after you finish installing the android and it should work great! i havent had any robot voices/SoD or screen freezes and i have been using it for 4 days now and i usually get about 12-14 hours of use out of a full charge.
let me know how that works!
This has been talked about MANY times already. Android on the HD 2 is kinda like a learning a new recipe, you have to try different things till you find something that works for you. Did you know there is a whole forum dedicated to android on the HD 2? Really there is It is HERE
It does not work with all ROMS. You have to find a ROM that is compatible with Android. Omega's latest ROM is compatible.
Hey man you are a life saver. Tried what you did and my HD2 is working. The only thing I have found is when I hook up my bluetooth headset it somehow corrupts everything and i have to reinstall the rom to get everthing else working. Thanks again

Few differences.
I have chuckyrom light and froyostone (8/7/2010) build.
Its a t-mobile phone.
When I had the 2.10 radio, the build froze constantly. I couldn't use it. As soon as I changed to the 2.12 radio mentioned above, I haven't had a problem since.
I'm going on nearly 2 weeks and it has performed flawlessly.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
same here
I have same issue with robot woice, just like from videoclip Black Eyed Peas
I think the combination one month old Duttys ROM and Foryostone2.2 Android image is the reason. Radio ROM is the latest. Therefore I think every chefs WM ROMs has to be modified to be compatible with currend Android port developement.
Also I have very fast music player, everything sounds like Smurfs and battery drain is very extrem.
But battery drain is common for every Android ports, as I can see at forum, so until this issue will be resloved it is just for fun not for the real usage I hope developers who spend a lot of time with porting will have luck with that soon

It's always advisable to run Task29 before flashing a different type of ROM as it helps 2 ensure no remnants of the previous ROM remains 2 cause possible conflicts.....
Nw abt Gingerbread....Its way far 4rom perfect and so u should (actually "must" better defines it) expect issues from it...Check 4rom thread to thread for a build with lesser issues, then flash it 2 see if it matches ur taste...if it doesn't? u can always try another...
I suggest that you try a SD build of Gingerbread first.
That way, you don't need to flash your ROM, and it will leave your WM 6.5 ROM intact. The second advantage is that you will see if it fits your expectations.
But be aware that no build is perfect, and it is known that many apps are not compatible with Gingerbread yet.
I am currently using the build from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957652
and it is working really well.
Gingerbread
All in all I think Gingerbread, is quite stable, try MDJ's cyanogenmod7 that seems to work quite nicely

[Q] HTC HD2 Telstra help please

Hi Everyone.
This is my first post but i have been an enthusiastic reader for some time.
I know the answers to my problems are out there but im finding there is so much information im drowning and totally lost on what i need to do.
I want to put Android on my Telstra HTC HD2 T9193 via SD.
The SPl is 1.66
ROM = 1.72.841.0 WWE
RADIO = 2.07.51.22_2
Some sources say i need to go back a version before i can HSPL1, Some say i need to upgrade my radio, some say my telstra version is painful to change.
I believe the steps i need to take are:
1.Upgrade to the newest HTC Stock. But i cannot find a ROM to suit the Telstra phone.
2. So i need to use the HSPL method to change my radio?
3. Install HSPL4
4. Install the custom ROM
5. change the radio but i am unsure which one i get?
I think i have it mostly muddled up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Sej
assuming you want nand android
hspl4
choose 2.08.hspl
flash any radio with a x.xx.50.. version, higher than 2.07.50
flash magldr
flash cwm
flash android
Hi thanks.
I actually wanted to use the SD Roms.
Thanks

Flash HSPL4
Flash radio above 2.08.50 (I'd go 2.15.50)
Run your SD Android ROM.
in addition to what orangekid has posted, in case you're after the custom rom:
Flash HSPL4
Flash radio above 2.08.50 (I'd go 2.15.50)
Flash custom rom
->in my case, i'm using chuckyrom lite for my wm6.5. i noticed that flashing the radio to 2.15, keeping the t-mob stock rom and running an android sd rom caused a lot of lags. not to mention the famous sod (sleep of death).
Run your SD Android ROM.
-> i've been using mccm hd 4.5 and it's simply working great for me. do take note that there are tons of roms you can try. what you can do is try out each of them and determine which one works well for your unit. what may be working flawlessly for me or the other members could turn out to be a lemon for you. thus, try them out and you should be able to find the right rom for your device

This is sound advice Personally I prefer NRG for WinMo and ACA for Android
Hope you've made some progress here... I've been watching this space for more than a year and finally decided it was safe enough to make a move.
My HD2 has the standard ROM, I flashed several radios with varying degrees of success in terms of sensitivity, power consumption, telstra compatability. Settled on 2.15.50.14 for now. Testing continues.
Installed JaguarMIUI-V16.7 on a new class 6 4Gb MicroSD.
I have no luck formatting SDs (x2) for my HD2 (have to reseat sd after bootup to get the card recognised) and this one is screaming and stable without being formatted, just copy on the files into Android and Miui folders in the root of the card.
I have a boot loader installed but don't use it as the build is so stable it's not a problem to open file explorer in Windows, tap clrcad.exe then haret.exe the few time a reboot is required/desired.
Enjoy!
Hi Saj,
I had the same problem..
I found that you had to go backwards to go forward as Telstra Locked the ROM.
Basically i had to comb the web and find an older version of the Telstra ROM...
from there I had to use MAGLDR 1.13 to load the boot file
it did however wipe the WM6.5 completely off the phone.
I am now using a Port for ICS and i have never been happier
I will see if I can find the original post for this on the web and let you know

[Q] Can't boot any CM roms from SD (others work fine)?

Hi,
Before ICS i tried a few ROMs, but any CM based ones would not boot for me, but I didn't give it much though and went with BoxmaX Sense builds.
Now it seems I have no choice, as all ICS builds are CM based, and none boot for me. Though Ankuchs beta build were working fine up to ICS-Beta7-build14
I tried a few sd cards formatted correctly, but still no go.
I have no clue what's the problem and I'd appreciate if you'd help out with some suggestions.
Using
HARDWARE: HTC HD2
ROM WM6: Energy.Leo.21916.Sense2.5.Cookie.2.0.Jul.04
ROM ANDROID: BoxmaX_KS.6.5.SD.Tyr5
RADIO: Radio_Leo_2.15.50.14
I'm using Haret to boot Android, IDK if that is a problem, but I'm really out of ideas.
AFAIK Magldr won't work with WinMo.
*bump*
Please give me some suggestions?
so you mean to say you are still Booting from WinMo to SD Android? there are a few versions of ICS out threre that you could try & not only CM ones.
http://android.hd2roms.com/
will you consider an ICS on Nand? off course getting rid of w6.5

Yes I'm still booting from WM 6.5 using Haret through excelers loader. I want to keep android on the SD card for a billion reasons, the major being easy recovery of all data if the phone dies.
I was gonna try Windows Phone, but it holds no interest for me. I did try a lot of builds, but as I told you CM build just won't boot and I have no frigging idea why and how could I fix it?
Ankuchs was the only ICS build that booted for me.
Oh finally, it was a kernel thing.
Tytung and dormanx kernels don't work for me.
5.3 ultimate does though!
how come none of the ICS 4.0 works but all 2.3 works? did it flash the wrong MAGDLR and HSPL or something? all 2.3 takes 3 minutes to boo. but all ICS are passing 1 hour and it's still not booting 4.0

Extended overclock

A guy called Dorimanx incorporated an extended overclocking in his hd2 android nand roms.
Later the sd rom booted from sdcard and nativesd came to android.
Never did I see an nativesd rom with extended overclocking, aside from tytungs 1200mhz base rom most rom cookers for hd2 have used.
My hd2 had no problems running at 1633mhz and even booted at that speed succesfully into android.
Contacting Dorimanx himself after moving onto his new smartphone never gave a response.
Cant some developer rip the feature from the old androids kerel and work it up to newer versions?
Pretty please
