Youtube upload clear finished? - Xoom General

Is there a way to clear completed uploads? I mean, sure I could look at a popup of all my uploads to youtube forever, but I would really like to know how to clear completed.

All you do is open up the icon in your notification, which will pop up the dialog of either waiting for upload, completed, failed, or pending. Just hit the one you want and another dialog pops up, and you hit clear

I tried that and it doesnt work for me for some reason.

Same for me... I have uploaded what seems to be a LOT of videos and now I actually have trouble finding the video in the list that is currently uploading.
There has to be an easy way to clear this...

I thought 3.1 would fix this for me but sadly it didn't. Hopefully 3.2 will...or Google updates their Youtube app.

!!MUST READ!! Allow Installation of Non-Market Apps!!! WITHOUT UPDATE!

Go here and follow all instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1107499. This will make the option to install non-market apps straight on your device (HTC Aria) appear!!! Enjoy!
Known issues:
- Unable to send/receive mms (since settings are erased - maybe re-inputting them will enable it again?...)
- HTC Wallpaper list disappears (These wallpapers can still be accessed in their root folder - system/customize/resource)

Yes I did test it and it works. I couldn't believe it myself... but I do now!
I can't believe how easy that was!
It works on my Aria but there are now no images listed under HTC Wallpapers. The Live wallpaper are still available.

Thanks! It worked on my aria and didn't even reset the wallpaper or accounts that I can tell.

I tried this on two Arias running 2.2 and it worked, but it disabled the HTC Wallpaper section options (the select screen comes up but there are no wsllpapers shown) and the MMS send/receive also doesn't work. As hard reset fixed these issues but also removed the "unknown sources" option.
I can load wsllpapers via the live wallpapers and gallery options, but I can't fix the MMS issue.

it did work for me to unable 3rd party apps installation although it did reset the wallpaper and made the wallpapers disappear from the list but who cares.. I dont use MMS feature, so cant comment on that..
worked for me also but now can not recieve mms
Has anyone tried manually restoring MMS settings?

I'm glad I waited for more replies.
as long as I can download the .apk, its really not that big of a deal to me anyway. Just have to connect phone to pc, find the file, drag it to my computer and then install it with android injector. This works for amazon apps and any app I have download from here.
If u rooted ur phone you would not need this and rooted phones have been able to do this for quit sometime now. Duh!

What .apk are you talking about? There is no .apk you download to unlock this option. You have to clear the data of two specific system apps to do this.

I THINK that he's talking about root not being that big of a deal as long as he can sideload...I'm pretty sure. Over a long time of being on forums, I have learned to read and understand the most incomprehensible of verbiage.
sorry, i was generalizing. basically if you can download the app, even if you cant install it from your phone, there is a simple method to get it installed when you get to your computer.
edit: yes, I was talking about how easy it is to sideload. just my opinion. easier to do than possibly lose mms options with this method to get the unknown sources checkbox.
just going to wait for the actual update. which better come soon. as it was supposed to be out before this thread even started.

The update was out before this thread started but only some (very few) people got it. So if someone can't wait for it, since it seems like no one else is going to get it, and they can afford to lose the mms setting (which could be reset manually), then they can do this method.

Youtube Force Close :(

[Q] Launcher force closes, need help

I'm using twa_priv's CM0 rom and I'm getting a launcher FC (any launcher, Apex, Launcher 2...) when I'm in the drawer scrolling through widgets. I'm guessing it's some app or widget's fault, but how can I tell? How can I get a log of the error or something? Any help much appreciated.
Download a logging app from the Play Store. For example, Catlog is a good one.
Open up the log app and start recording the log.
Then do whatever you normally do to make it FC
Go back into the log app and stop recording
Then post the text file it puts out wherever you need it.

I did just that and I get a blank log... I open Catlog. Log level is at Verbose. I hit record, choose default filename, then go to app drawer and start flicking through widgets. As soon as it gets to a certain page, the launcher force closes. I return to Catlog and hit stop recording, but log txt is blank. Is there something that I might be missing?

Hm. It seems that Catlog isn't working as it's supposed on 4.1. I would look around the Play Store and try to find one that works. I just tried Catlog as well and it didn't work.

thanks :/
I'll dig around as well, and will try uninstalling suspicious apps/widgets. Does anyone know a logging app that works well in JB?
I use Lumberjack. It's updated for Jelly Bean. Sounds like Catlog will be updated for JB soon.
-S
*UPDATE* Sorry, I might be wrong about this. Lumberjack does report some log data, but it doesn't seem to be fully Jelly Bean aware yet.
so there are no working logging applications for Jellybean? That's a bummer... How do devs do debugging?

Here you go. Read this. It's not quite as easy as an app but it should work.

I actually think using adb is the quickest and easiest way to get a logcat
As simple as:
adb logcat > logcat.out
I think logcat apps have to be moved and made a system app in order to work on JB roms.
I downloaded alogcat and moved it, I can read the logs.
Hope that helps!

How to play youtube videos/music in the background.

As from the title you can see that I found the easiest way to play background YouTube's videos or music which doesn't require for you to download external apps that allow that. This allows the listening while the screen is off and while using other app (not sure didn't test on every app).
Note: I'm not sure if if there is a another post on this but just incase if someone don't know about it...
1) First of all chose the YouTube video/music you want to listen in the background while doing other stuff.
2) once the video/music is playing go to home screen and after going to the home screen press the power button once to lock your device.
3) then wake up your device again this should take you to the lock screen page as shown in the picture below
4) once you can see the lock screen that has notifications on it, then swipe the clock to the left which should show the name of the YouTube title.
That's it hopefully this does work forever as I am not sure if the android would potentially close YouTube after a while but yeahhhhhh. You lot probably already know about this but just wanted to share if somebody doesn't know it.
You need to have lucky patcher and adaway youtube. Don't let it update or you'll lose ad free.

Just tried, didn't work. It is greyed out. What still does work though is when you open the video in youtube, lock, and press play button on your headphones. It starts playing and will even continue going when you're playing from a playlist for example.
