anyone having the same issue!?
Other apps play smoothly.
edit: upgrading to CM5.0.8 final olved th poblem
It sounds there is an issue with audio decoding, hoping cyan will fix in 5.0.8 final.

It's glitchy, it force closes, the audio intermittently cuts out, the video is choppy, sometimes I can't even see the videos to choose from, etc.
Anyone else having these issues?
I'm running the official OTA 2.2 build btw. Would be nice to know if steve's build fixes this.
Just updated to steve's build and his does not have it... any idea where it can be downloaded?
rockplayer is by far better

ARM v7 is what you need
Hey folks, apologies if this is in the wrong section. It didn't feel right asking a simple question in the dev forum.
Is movie playback available? Specifically, if I used MXPlayer. I use my nook for 3 things. Light surfing (no flash), Book reading, and its been a god send at night when the wife likes to sleep with the tv off I can usually lay there with some headphones in and watch my nightly shows on it. (these would be avi's or mp4's in MXPlayer, Not netflix.)
I want to try ICS on it. But before I do I need to know if movie playing works. If not, will it ever likely work? Or should I just stick with gingerbread.
This is the right section. I have not tried MX player, but I have ICS CM9 and I can check it out for you. Give me a few minutes.
I loaded MX Player on the CM9 ICS and it plays mp4 and avi for me with no problems.
It may not be as smooth as GB because the hardware acceleration is still a work in progress, but for me it looked fine. MX Player used its internal SW codecs for the playback.
Also be aware that the CM9 nightly builds are not yet fully stable. I get occasional crashes and freezes in random apps, but still very usable if you can tolerate that.
Thank you very much! I will be installing ics on my nook tonight then!
Hello guys, just wanted to ask what is the reason why my audio playback is stuttering during flac format audio playback? It's kinda annoying.
I'm running a 4.4 stock with faux 029 mainline kernel.
I tried it with stock but same results.
Also tried it with almost all 4.4 but still the same.
I never experienced it before with all 4.3 roms.

known problem, but no fix so far:

I don't know if I'm the only one facing this problem, but it's a wonder that nobody ever mentioned this issue before. I think this problem is related with the custom kernel named Sandroidkernel which comes with every custom roms made for this model by Ihsan. I can play supported games smoothly and play [email protected] fps and sometimes even [email protected] fps fine with HW decoder using MX player using stock rom and kernel. BUT when I use this kernel on custom and stock roms I can't use HW decoder for mentioned resolutions and my games become choppier than usual. I tried flashing the kernel on my stock rom and the issue still remained. I tried playing around with available CPU governors and I/O schedulers but had no luck. Same thing with OMKernel. Anyone facing this issue or fixed it? Any help will be appreciated.
