Hello All.
I just moved back home and brought back with me a LG Quantum. I had really wanted the HTC Arrive from Sprint, but the lack of GSM capability was the deal breaker.
I purchased the LG Quantum SIM unlock code, but when I tried inputting the code, I got a PUK code error. I understand this a Unlock code that is associated with only the SIM card. So before I attempt unlocking again, my questions are:
1. Should I get another SIM card from my home network and re-input the code?
2. Has the PUK Code blocked the phone from accepting any SIM's other than AT&T?
3. IN the event that I have to get a PUK code, is this code specific to a SIM Card, the IMEI of the phone or AT&T?
Thanks for your help.
As i understand your trying to unlock the phone so you can use any SIM card?
1.No contact the service provider to get the puk code but i find it unusual that you would get a puk code when trying to unlock it. That usually happens when your try to enter a SIM pin in to many times which could have happend. in which case you have to contact that service provider to retrieve that PUK code.
2.The puk code is requested after the SIM pin was entered in to many times incorectly.
3.The PUK code is specific to the SIM card.

I got my sim unlock code from t-mobile, I was wondering if there was a way to unlock it without inserting a foriegn sim card.
Not that I know of...I mean by foreign if your referring to a sim card from a different country yes...all you need is a sim card from ATT Cingular...borrow a friends sim card, and place it in when it asks for the subsidy lock or unlock code..put the code that tmobile gave to you...its as simple as that..then afterward place your simcard and now you have an unlocked wing!! Hope I helped you!!

I just requested my SIM unlock code for my Wing. About how long did it take you to get the code back from T-Mobile?
they should email it to you, right?
i guess it could take anywhere up to like a day or two. Try contacting them and asking them to resend it or something.
Tmo has an unlock team/sim team. Based on the east coast. They are swamped but if you can get in touch with them they will usually email you the codes for overseas travel after two days. Dont know the number.

Mine took a day.
I am not sure what happened. I have an ATT branded atrix. I purchased an unlock code from someone on ebay, and the code was incorrect. I entered the code several times and I believe i have carrier locked the phone. Now even when i stick my att sim card in it brings up the "enter network unlock pin screen." I can hit dismiss and get into the phone but I cannot get service even with my att sim card in the phone. So as of right now my phone is not unlocked and is unable to be used with any sim card. Please help as i need the phone. any advice will be helpfull.
Got a new sim for the wife's phone...trying to change her pin code I managed to add PIN code for screen unlock and some how blocked the sim card.
Two questions....how can I take the pin off the screen lock and how can I unlock the sim without the PUK codes???
Pin off screen lock is under "Settings -> Location and Security"
Get your PUK code by calling up customer service of whichever company provided the sim card.
Hi there guys I have a LG C900 that is an ATT phone. I inserted a non att sim card and have PUK locked the phone. I tried calling ATT and asking for PUK code which they were able to generate but the code did not work. I also have the unlock code for this phone but whenever a non att sim card is inserted it asks for a PUK code. Does anyone know what I can do?
Not sure ATT could help, where is the sim from and what are you trying to do with it?
Is the PUK code related to the phone brand or model?
The PUK code has nothing to do with your mobile phone’s brand (i.e. Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Nextel, Sony-Ericsson, LG) or model. The PUK is only tied to the SIM card.
What happens if I lost or forgot my PUK code?
If you are a postpaid user (Globe, Smart, Sun Cellular, Verizon, T-Mobile, Orange or AT&T), your cell provider may be able to provide you with your PUK code. Just call them up, authenticate your identity by answering some questions and they will give you the PUK for your SIM card. This is easy because the telco can verify you as the owner of the SIM card or the mobile number.
PUK Code was generated with an over seas sim card. If I put ATT sim card in the device it does not ask for PUK Code. But also if I put a T-Mobile Sim card it asks for PUK.
I have the same problem as you have you solved?
same problem here, any solution !
Hi guys, I got my Nexus 6p last week from EE (UK network) and I have a problem:
Next week I'm going away to a diffrent country (Poland) for Christmas and New Years Eve and wanted to put a SIM card from that country into my phone, but it says I need a PUK code to do it... So I called EE and said what the issue was, and it turns out I will be able to get after I will have been for at least 6 months with EE ( I'm a new customer).
Is there any way I can unblock the phone on my own?
Cheers in advance.
If it requests a PUK code, you have to find the PUK code that belongs to that SIM card (from Poland).
So, you'll have to call Poland for the PUK code, or have to check the documentation you got with that SIM card.
I think EE was talking about a network unlock code, that's a complete different thing.
Edit: A PUK code is normally needed when you enter an incorrect PIN 3 times.

Yeah, you're right, I meant a network unlock code.
So is there a way I can unlock it on my own?
Anybody?
I used this http://m.sim-unlock.net/sim-lock/72/Unlock_by_code_for_Huawei_phones/#details worked a treat and I had the code within 24 hours
