Has anyone gotten MIUI to work on on HTC HD2... I cant seem to make the SD version work... im having a very had time making it work... and i would really like to see this as my second OS on my phone.
JAWS Miui works well for me on NAND, and I previously used it on SD.
I've not got it working with WP7, but you should be able to get the old JAWS-MIUI SD build to work with it.
Here'e the NAND thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=902013
And here's the SD thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857443
Or is this the one you've been having trouble with already?
It's a shame nobody is updating a MIUI SD build, as I'd love to try WP7, but without the option of dual booting with a decent MIUI build, I'm not going to bother yet.
Wp7 nand and Miui on sd is the perfect combo!

Since before the release of wp7 rom i have been anticipating the dual boot of windows phone with Miui on sd. Miui on sd is the most stable and complete of all the sd roms in my opinion but is seems development on miui sd roms have come to a halt. I think miui would be good on the sd because like i said it is the most complete and up to date build on sd. It seems to me that wp7 NEEDS to be on nand because otherwise it would be unusably slow. I have been so confused and in limbo waiting until i can run wp7 (because it is new and different) and Miui on sd because it is the BEST rom out there for the hd2 least problems and most AWESOME. I hope to see future development. I for one would love to have dual boot hd2 with partitioned sd running wp7 and 2.3 miui! (i know it dont exist yet).

The links you gave me were the exact versions i have problems with... i can get to the loading screen then it freezes... what im looking for now is a way to maybe edit this to make it work... but until then i might just reflash my whole system as i like the android system better than the WP7
Installed MIUI 1.1.28 NAND... took out the WP7... its a whole lot faster and better... I still want the WP7 but until devs fix MIUI ill wait.

This is what I was looking for Miui on the sd super smooth and the wp7 nand pretty smooth. This is awesome thanks for the find. I always have a hard time around those translated forums (miui-developers). Now I just need to scour the search threads to find out how to apply the language pack!

Since I'm not to familiar with the update zips method, I downloaded the language pack from miui-dev and extracted it. Then within the updates provided in the build there is one with all the system files and etc. Just replace those with the ones from the language pack and it should all work. This is just a crude way of doing it but it works.

I have successfully put the English translation files and everything is working (and English), but I have no data. I think some other people on that forum were having the same issue with this one. When fixed, this is a keeper!

Well ****! i get data just fine BUT when i applied language pack via push adb i keep getting force close android.process.???? I cant remember the last part but it worked fine prior.
Futureshocks
Yes, I got it working but it took a while.
Use Futureshocks MIUI VERSION 7.0. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=851678
You'll notice lots of Chinese so download your preferred language pack - create a folder named Root in the futureshocks.miui.german folder and put the language pack in there. In the /system/app folder of the language pack you'll see lot's of apk's - take out all but settings.apk and FM.apk reboot and all should work. there's still a bit of Chinese in the messege settings but I can live with that (you could put the messages apk in the futureshocks.miui.german/Root/system/app folder I suppose)

when you apply the language pack you replace the build.prop file with that of the language pack's. check it against that of a working data build prop, often the ppp dns settings are missing:
net.ppp0.dns1=8.8.8.8
net.ppp0.dns2=8.8.4.4
downloaded the 1.1.28 SD version from MIUI... then I used the nexus 1 language pack from miui-dev....
confirmed working dualboot on my WP7... the 1.1.14 version seems incomplete thats why i used the 1.1.28 version...

Those values aren't even included in the build.prop. I assume you mean the build.prop in /system.
/edit: I didn't replace the build.prop, only slight changes to the original.
And now that I think about that, changing the lcd_density value didn't do anything. Would adding to values do anything? I have switced to Copenhagen's CM7 SD build, which is working fine for now.

Have anyone got MIUI 1.2.11 for sd?
Im not responsible for any damage you may cause to your phone, use it at your own risk.
I have modded the latest version of Miui.us rom and i have been able to add Greek Locale! So guys its in Greek Language now
Credits for the rom goes to Stockwell (Thank you for your work)
Credits for the translation pack goes to Finn.(Thanks for the translation)
Credits for the idea goes to member Tranos. (Thanks for the idea)
Notes:
-Wipe cache and dalvik cache.
-Choose zip to install from SD
Any questions are welcome, just say thanks
Download here:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=555O7C3D
Thanks! It works perfect. I want to add: Credits to TRANOS for his great idea!
Shall we expect a weekly greek version update by you from now on?
EDIT:The updater.apk is in Chinese (i think) but the error must be from the desire-zip and not from your changes...
Great job jasonak0s !! Thanks for it! I don't know how hard it is but couldn't the language be implemented on all future releases? Like giving stockwell the xml file before pushing it to miui.us.
Great job anyway and if u can keep it up with future releases it would be even better!
Else a guide on how to do it might help others continue
I will continue implementing the greek language for the future releases. Spirosbond i did notice that tools is in Chinese Language, you can either rename the folder or i can upload a fix. I will try to upload a fix today. The bad news is that you have to flash all the rom again to fix it, i must find a way bypassing this. Thank you guys for your appreciation
Hm...
Done it three times, it keeps restarting on start up (globe banner).
ps. cwm 5.0.2.6
EDIT
Wiped data - now works
I couldnt recover with 5.0.2.6.. always there was an error
used the old one with the orange letters it's fine now
but after flashing this rom i have a huge battery drain 50% in 5 hours ..
Everything was ok with eng miui...maybe a bug in translation ?
anyone has the same problem ?
fsnelis , i've used my phone in about 6 hours and the battery is at 81% with phone calls, wifi and a little GPS.. So i think there is something wrong about the way you flashed it. When i flashed it i wiped data/cache and dalvnik cashe so i don't know, try to do the same procedure i did.
If we are already in miui rom but in english version, i have to
-Wipe cache and dalvik cache???
Cause when i upgrade on newer version of miui i just flash it without wipe...
Nevertheless, thank you for ur time and now we have greek language in our favourite rom!

any solutions? or i have to flash it again?
Is someone else have the same or different problems?
thanks in advance
p.s.: i flashed it again... for now...no probs. Maybe the problem was cause i installed the newest version of market... who knows.
thanks again for your good work.
zaf_4 Since i've been using this rom for a couple of days i haven't seen any force close or any problems with receiving sms's.. So my advice is that you first wipe everything and then flash the rom from the start.
Congratulations you are God!!!!
Thanks for that.
I personally dont really care about the greek translation i only care to have an option to use greek keyboard with greek support on stock keyboard is that any easy way to have this in all future miui updates?
A small guide or the files needed for that so we can make it ourselfs? each time new update comes?

no no conflicts with the app..
it is caused by the superuser (root) ap in tools.. all apps that need sms.. for example handcent or myWhatsup ETC restar tthe phone when they send smses..
i think (but i am not sure) you have to tweak something in superuser permisions.. allow or disallow something like that..
sorry but i am not sure which one exactly
Per requests i updated the topic with the procedure on how to translate it by your self.
My regards, Paul
Is there a way to install lattitude and google maps in this rom????
Can t find the way... and i need them both
And a second question
How can yoy have a bar with greek characters (not english) to scroll down on the name we want???
I have 800+ contacts inside...
I istalled Rockket dialer but it had a lot of conflicts with the mui rom and coundt run it.
Is there another option????

*http://xt720.ru/Files/Mods/ShenqiV4-En.7z (Mirror:http://depositfiles.com/files/29g2s4ovg?redirect)
*framework-res.apk: if you want multiple language support ( more than English and Chinese), download this file and replace the old one in /system/framework
Introduction:
The Rom I worked on was from a Chinese forum ztphone. And by the original Rom's name I thought it might be a branch version from KANG's CM7 Rom. So it is good to trace back and share the Rom here. Any feedback and comments are highly appreciated!
Highlight:
*Moto Camera, Moto MediaGallery and Moto Videoplayer port to CM7
*800w Camera and HD recording (1280*720) work fine
*Smoothly 720p H264 baseline profle video play with HW decode support
*Media button and all sensor work
Lowlight
*HDMI not work
*I customized the ROM for Chinese phone. Sorry for some possible language inconvinience. Language locale was set to en_GB in build.prop for this version.
Installing Instructions
1. Install milestone default 2.1 rom(Russian, CBW, Singapore, whatever).Root it with androot or superoneclickroot.Install last openrecovery build from Mioze7Ae.
2. Unzip the ROM, put the folder Shenqi-V4-En to your sdcard "nandroid\openrecovery". Boot to OpenRecovery, and use "nandroid->restore" to flash.
3. This additional step is only *required* for Korean Xt720 model. Put "Korean_Patch.zip" to sdcard "openrecovery/updates ", and update it in OpenRecovery
Ham, the uploading to Deposit Files is so slow today ... (67% now)
The same ROM ( only difference in build.prop language locacle setting) shared in Chinese forum (ztphone) has receieved several positive feebacks. Now I am pretty happty to see HD Recording and 720p video playback also work for other xt720 phone
Hi,
What languages are in the ROM (other than english and chinese) ?
Is there french ?
why not setup a github repo and put there configurations, sources, and even binaries ? (even free github will allow to upload at least 2 "rom updates" each of them around 92Mb
added:
i saw framework.jar has some stock goodies in it... i suppose you "decompile" cm7 one, added from stock and "compile" back (unsing smali) or i am wrong?
Sorry, this version has very limited language support and do not have French.
Yes, github is good to do such things.
Moto Camera need some reference from framework.jar, so I did some modfications in framework.jar. Also Camera.apk, MediaGallery.apk, MediaProvider.apk were also decompiled and modified to port to CM7.
Is there a way to translate into french ?
I can translate text from english to french.
anyone reupload plz.... unable to download... tq..

Add framework-res.apk file to support multiple language. (See on 1st floor)
Download the file, and replace the old one in /system/framework/, then you could have multiple languagne, including French in the system.
will this work for the existing CM7 of fjfalcon.?

The issue is still persistent. I do not think that the issue is with the boot loop, because the phone starts at times and then crashes into boot loop all of a sudden. Just curious if this happened only to me or did anybody else?

modifying framework.jar works, but will be hassle to support ...
may be you can consider using the following approach ...
as MediaGalery and MotoCamera have in its AndroidManifest.xml reference to external "libraries"
Code:
<library name="com.motorola.aui"
file="/system/framework/com.motorola.aui.jar"/>
<library name="com.motorola.android.camera"
file="/system/framework/com.motorola.android.camera.jar"/>
it will be easy to follow upstream, if you put the framework modifications is the above jars, instead of the framework (i have proof of concept that this works)
This way you want rely on decompiling framework, and putting all back together, e.g. it will be easy for you
Also if framework is odexed it can stay odexed
Then if everything is smooth, you just can "update" the upstream roms
Just flashed this ROM and from first looks it is pretty amazing!!! Little early to brag but wow everything seems to be working, still have to check fm radio. Thank you very much for sharing!

I used RSDLite and flashed the CBW SBF to start from scratch. If you're not familiar with this process there are alot of info here for it. Then before flashing this I wiped data and everything before and after flash.
PS... Looks like I will need to replace the music.apk it is in chinese... if anyone has it for 2.3.7 that would be great!
I don't know why geno don't update his thread, but it is latest cm for 35 kernel by genokolar, with new kernel, so, sound problems fixed. Beats audio works here, and rom is quite stable. Some chineese apps, and no standart keyboard, contains all languages that android have. Installation via clockworkmod, with 3 wipes, i used 5.5.0.4. After official 2.3 (or other custom roms on 35 kernel, including dzo's aurora) of course.

I'm sorry, but if you want the best sound quality from U8800, then you must use a .32 kernel based ROM. I've done that and the difference is just to much to return to .35

Yes, you're right. But i wanted to try ics, and now i'm lazy to return on 2.2. Of course i don't use my phone to play music on work, however sound quality from pc whould better, but i enjoy heavy metal on breaks (pc and other devices is not mine).

I cant decide/say if it is anything better with beats audio, probably a placebo if I say its better. My ears are screwed from listing music too loud on my loudspeakers.

This is an AOKP ROM for the u8800. It is ported from Huawei Honor B977 4.0.3. I'd like to know if anyone else has tried this and what they think. It's a chinese rom from the anzhi forums (original thread)
I flashed this ROM just now ( thanks fjsferreira for the mirror), this is my feedback:
- Fast, smooth (on par with Aurora).
- Wifi, mobile data, bluetooth, and the like work.
- No gapps, Play Store, camera, browser...(you pretty much have to install everything yourself).
- No strip unicode in the Mms.apk.
- Popup notification support in the Mms.apk.
- Cool AOKP tweaks (naturally...).
- No theme-chooser (meaning you'll have to stick with the mix of Touchwiz 5, ICS and lots of tranparency that is the UI).
- Long pressing the Home key doesn't show the multi-tasking interface and doesn't take you to the Homescreen.
- The SEARCH key is set to turn off the screen (to revert it to its normal function (searching!), check this post).
- I'll add more feedback information as more people try it and report.

I found his AOKP ROM for our u8800, I'm about to try it, and when I do I'll post some feedback here. Also, I'd like to know if anyone else has tried this and what they think. It's a chinese rom from the anzhi forums (original thread)
Download link: http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=22964&uk=2499982078.
Btw, as soon as I finish downloading I'll put it up on mediafire or dropbox, but if someone else already has it feel free to post a link.

Make sure the system folder fits in your system partition. I think you need to chacge the partitions in order to flash this, but I'm not sure. Our phone's default system partition is 210 mb
Has anyone tried it? Or have mirror?
I would love to give a try, but download time shows me 18 hours...
I have tried the previous ver actually..... Partition is a must, otherwise phone wont pass Huawei logo. Its ported from Huawei Honor ...every thing works well but Home key does not work..... But be aware some time it happens that you cant return to stock partition and you wont be able to Flash official 2.3 or Froyo ROM back.

I haven't tried that way, you can try once.... All 4.0 official ROM designed for U8800 PRO also officially they have made .app file for changing the partition to install ICS so i doubt it will work.

Actually this version is much smaller (109MB) than the previous (180MB), so it may not need re-partitioning. It has a ".UP" suffix so maybe it is an update flashable only and you need the previous installed, but I can't know since I cannot download it. It just goes soooooo slowwww....
camera not working

I know, right? I left the computer on and went to the beach but when I came back the file only had 86mb out of the 109mb...I'll have to try again tomorrow, since it will probably take some 4 hours to download.

If you guys use something to stabilize the download, like free download manager, speed is always above 800 KB/s (I've just finished my download, took less than 3mins)

EDIT: anyway, here it is
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B4ZMZwAV0MEaVUUzMjRDM2JyXzg
(I didn't try this ROM yet, and probably won't, Aurora is completely stable for me right now)
Well, just went ahead and tried the ROM. From my 10 minutes playing with it, everything seems to work, wifi, mobile data, bluetooth and camera (camera isn't included by default, you have to install one).
Also, no market by default, you have to manually edit the zip file and include the market apk in it.
Sadly I had to uninstall it after 10 mins because, and I'm seeing this more and more, the dev completely screwed up the UI... it's simply horrible, it's not default AOKP at all... He made a complete mess with icons from samsung, an horrible background in every app, horrible popups and menus, etc... I didn't like that at all. I didn't even took the time to create screenshots, I'm sorry, because it was burning my eyes...
There are some stuff completely in chinese, in the ROM control area of the settings, but overall, you can choose any language that Android includes. Note, while the theme of the UI isn't AOKP, the ROM itself is, with the usual settings AOKP provides,
Performance wise, I saw no difference than with aurora...
OP updated with working/ not working features.

You can include this too... Its ported from Huawei Honor 4.0 977 ver ROM and home key doesn't show recent apps opened and doesn't take you to home either.
theres an update that i still haven't figured out what has changed exempt a few framework-res changes but heres the link to the original forum anyway: http://bbs.anzhi.com/thread-5635142-1-1.html
and the download to the rom: http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=30727&uk=2499982078
EDIT: I have fixed the home key not working so now that works 100%!!!
I will try fix a couple of other things then i will upload the rom for everyone to enjoy.

Thanks. I reverted to the good old .32 kernel yesterday, so I won't be testing this one for now. However, I'll still update the OP with the links to the latest version and the features/bugs list.
