[Q] On CM7 camera button can't take a picture? - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I have clean installed CM 7.0.3 on the MY Touch 4G and tried to use the default camera app and when I run it and then press the hardware camera button the focus square comes up and goes green but when I release the button it doesn't actually take a picture? Any idea how to fix this? The soft button on screen works.

umm... try pushing the camera button down all the way maybe?

Ahh damn, stupid of me. Thanks!

Camera button does not take pictures anymore

Hi guys
I've searched the web and this forum but haven't been able to find anything. I've got the R2AA010 rom installed, and the camera button no longer takes photos.
When I press the camera button the camera application starts up as normal. But to take a picture I have to press the action key now. This is annoying because I can no longer to the half press to make the camera focus.
Is there a way to change the camera button mapping in the camera application back to the camera button?
thanks

Any way to bind the optical trackpad button as a dedicated camera button?

After about month of using my dinc, I've found that I literally never press the opti trackpad button. Is there any way to make this button act as a dedicated camera button (or to set it up to launch a specific app). I've done no customization to my phone thus far (waiting on a stable froyo custom ROM), but I have no problem with rooting or installing a custom ROM in order to get this functionality. Does anyone know if this is possible? I'd love to reclaim this currently useless button.
Download Vignette from the market and you can set your trackpad to take pics or you can even tap the screen to take a photo.
I think morph2k4 is talking about having the button work even when you're not in a camera app. So the idea would be, any time you press that button, it would either take a picture or open a camera app. With Vignette, that button only works when you already have the app open.
Exactly right, I want to make that button load up my camera app from anywhere.
You should take this to the development forum, they might be able to help.

Camera button and command button vibration

Hi,
I have two request:
How can I disable vibration when I press Home, Menu and Back buttons?
My camera button doesn't start the application if I press it longtime, and doesn't take a picture, but it works to focus the image... so I think the button is not damaged.... Is it a software issue?
Note: I have a stock rom 1.6.
thanks

you have to press it harder i had this too .. you dont want to ruin it first day , but it seems the device can handle a lot of torture. (this afternoon i used it as ashtray for my spliff.. seems to survive. not that i would advice you to do this . lol )

[Q] green button works as camera.. can it be changed?

hi,
I am using wp7 on my hd2 and it's running well but,
the green button is opening the camera app instead of phone..
is there any way to change it?
Thanks
well if you change it, you can't use the camera
its supposed to do that, did you read the 'readme' that came with the wp7 rom?
Keyboard buttons mapping:
GREEN - camera key
HOME - launch search (Bing)
WIN - show home screen
BACK - backward
RED - power

The hd7 doesn't have a green/send key, and the hd2 doesn't have a camera button.
Maybe we can use the volume Up or Down with 2 purpose - (to raise or down your volume and when you are in Camera Menu to take foto) I saw that in Camera Menu the buttons are pointless..

[Q] Volume Slider as Camera Shutter?

I am currently running Cyanogenmod 11, latest nightly.
Not sure when there was a change, but I recalled being able to use my volume rocker as a camera shutter button, but recently it appears that it zooms rather than takes a picture. Anybody know why this is? Or how to change it? Even while using cyanogenmod, I recall I used to be able to use the volume as a shutter, but recently I cannot.
Thanks for the help.

Look in the camera settings for a toggle to make the power button the shutter

I've looked and no such option exists. I've attached the camera settings that show up.
