Hu guys just a quick query. Im using Android Revolution HD 5.1.4 and today my message thread is unordered, for example if i receive a message at 21.02 and then i reply at 21.02 my reply will show before my received text.

Have you checked to see if this issue occurs with different messaging apps/different people? It may be down to how the app orders messages, or that the other persons clock is slightly out of time with yours.
Yeah other meaaaging apps do this to. Had the same problem with my wildfire but I factory resetted it and fixed the problem but im using a custom rom so dont know how it would work

Has happened on mine once before as well. It seems to only happen when your reply was sent within the same minute you received it. Not confirmed, though, but it might be a bug on their end.

Hi guys
Just asking why is it that in my message threads why my new unread messages are showing before my last sent message
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Propably so you should quickly see your unread messages?
No but the thread is not in order at all, been happening since i got the phone

The thread is set to your phones time, make sure you have the time set right, and havent been changing it.
The timing on it is fine not changed it at all. Hmm its strange

Hi!
Then check the date mate... The only reason for that to happen is that the messages that u send are stored based on ur cell phones time and the messages u receive come with the network time! Just check the date and time properly!
Time and date settings are all fine.

Hi lads. I'm on 1.75 and I'm trying to send a group text. I've noticed that through the messaging application on my phone I can only text to a Max of 20 people but I have over 60 in my group.
I know I've been able to send to loads of people before. Any ideas on how I can send txs to how many people I want?

sorry i am not an expert, but would suggest you to give a try to handcent or any other msg app and see if they too have such limitation.

Hey everyone I followed all the steps in the guide to upgrade/downgrade to an official build and everything seemed to go great. There is one issue though... My text messages received all come in at 5 hours behind. I can send a message to myself and it shows that I sent it at 10am and it immediately arrives with a time stamp of 5am. Anyone have any idea what would cause this?
Thanks!
Steve

just download sms time stamp fix from the market and then manually correct the time stamp
Awesome! Thanks!
Wow! That's awesome - it works great - it's a bit sucky that I have to install an app to fix this but since it works, then that's great! Thanks very much!
Anyone have any idea why this happens? must be common enough to have someone build an app to resolve it.
Thanks again!

I'm using handcent and when I get a picture message and click download it just sticks and doesn't ever show the picture. What's the fix?
Bump

First possible solution, try stock messenger or another messenger besides handcent. Second solution, reflash rom.
Either way, this should be posted in the thread for this rom. If everyone that has any problem with any rom made a new thread for it, the forum would probably overload.
I've trawled through Google and XDA to find potentional fixes on various platforms for Jellybean but I can't seem to remove this on JB. I've tried used GoSMS and alas, no such luck.
I've also got SQLite Editor and inserted sms_outgoing_check_max_count into the secure settings.db and still no success. This is really frustrating me as I do text a lot and I can't seem to find a fix!
Help would be much appreciated.
I remember that on CM10 there was an option to increase that warning till it reaches 1000 under Settings > Security
I hope it comes to CM10.1 because that bugs me too.

YES! Me too, thank-you for this thread.
I've tried the methods you talked about as well and nothing seems to work on the Nexus 4 version 4.2.1. (updated on Friday btw).
=(
Anyone have any success? I really don't want to use any other apps to text.
I've used GoSms but still had the same issue. The stock app won't send messages to groups which is super lame as I like the simplicity of it.

This is really frustrating. I sent a text to my group of friends at 7am in the morning and 10 hours later its still flagging the error and its unsent. I can't send any more texts :banghead:
Can someone please help?!

Anyone had any progress in resolving this?
Not in stock, as Google have done the right thing as to stop rougue apps sending SMSs in the background without your knowledge. OK, there should be the option to turn it off but tbh if you're sending that many SMSs why not just send an email instead? Or call? You'll get the conversation over in 5 minutes!!
My rule of thumb is more than 5 SMSs, call as it's quicker
I have large groups of friends and regularly text a lot on a weekly basis, calling and email is out of the question for such large numbers.
To justify this is madness I tell thee! Point being it's down right ridiculous and it has never been a problem before. I'm having to hit allow for 100+ text and its a huge problem
It takes best part of half a day to get these approved. I've tried everything out there still no luck.

Solution
I was able to use the max_outgoing... trick on my ICS phone but it stopped working on my JB phone. I don't know what's the trick but there is an app on Google Play that worked on my JB 4.2.2 phone - I'm not going to advertise it here but you can search for yourself. Bon chance!

Custom roms dont have this issue, but there is a solution... go find SMS limit remover. Don't remember if it requires root.
