[Q] my hero don't seeing hidden network - Hero, G2 Touch General

Hi!
I bought a HTC Hero 1 week ago. I tryed connect to my hidden wifi network, but this failed.
When the network was visible, has nothing probleam. After I hideing the network, this lost the signal.
What can I do to work? I do want show the network.
I hope that you can help.
Thanks in advance...

Where are you hiding your network?
If you can find it again, do not hide it, keep it at a place you will remember.
Nah, seriously...
How are you hiding your network?
What router do you use?

I using TP-LINK TL-WR841ND router. My HTC Desire, my brothers Diamond can connect to this.
Therefore i don't understand, why my Hero can not connect. I changed the radio rom, this is the lastest 63.18.55.06SH_6.35.17.03.
Still now the signal is visible, but i would like, if it going to be hidden.

Have you tried creating a new AP with the ssid and then trying to connect to it? (regardless of whether it shows signal or not).

Have you checked the regulatory domain settings? Maybe you are using a channel that the phone doesn't recognise.
Menu->Settings->Wireless & networks->Wi-Fi settings->Menu->Advanced->Regulatory

I don't have them problems but I'm bored tonight. The search function came up with this, amongst other things:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=41162&highlight=12+24+hour
What's wrong with your WIFI? Mine works fine on the latest K-jam ROM when connecting to my "slow" (B) WLAN router.
wifi quit workin for me
i cant connect to any routers. I had to manually enter DHCP settings (dns) in the old cingular rom because my router sucks or something but now with the same settings and stuff i cant get on to any access points. just says connecting and then NOT CONNECTED.
weird.

Yes. Weird. My WLAN router is unstable, sometimes nothing can connect to it. Rebooting it helps.
I can't come up with anything more intelligent that that right now. Good luck
solution to the time problem found
Start > Setting > System TAB > Reginal Settings > Times TAB
Change "Time Style" to "h:mm:ss tt"

I read in previous posts that upgrading the firmware of your router to the latest version often helps with the connectivity issues. Worth a try.
my router is up to date with firmware
i cant connect to anything. i can see SSID's. the unit is finding networks, i just cannt connect. it goes from CONNECTING....to NOT CONNECTED.
im stumped. tried everything i can think of!

Wifi Router not connecting

Hey,
can someone help with a problem I'm having with the wifi router app, when setting up the app I give my new "network" a name and a passkey then start it up. I can connect to my network with my Itouch but not access the internet? The connection to the 'net is made when the app starts but is then dropped shortly after? Anyone seen this?
Cheers guys and gals, keep up the good work.....

Have you got any spaces or special characters ( ) & * etc in the network name?
No special characters, no. The Itouch can see my HD2, and even connect to it. Once the two are connected the internet connection fizzles out?
I'd like to get this sorted rather than installing another app to do the job. I used to have an Orbit 2 and that worked fine.
Stumped!!

[Q] I can't connect to Wi-Fi.

So after sucessfully flashing my HD2 to WP7, and obtaining a 25 digit activation code for Live Services, I go to turn it all on and it refuses to connect with my Wi-fi. All it says is "Your phone couldn't reach the Wi-Fi network wireless". I used to hape WPA, but i took it off so that maybe it would connect. But it didn't work. I even disabled the firewall, and the mac filter list.
My router is a Westel Model 327W (Provided by my ISP).
I currently have this rom installed. This is the second one I've had, the first one was the first one that was ever available, idk what it's called or where I can link to it.
Please help me! I can't get data, so Wi-Fi is my only option for internet! Which is my only option for installing apps! And its not working!
UPDATE:
So i walked down the street and tried to access 3 different Unsecured Wi-Fi access points (all of which I could connect to on my iPod Touch) and for each one it said "Your phone couldn't reach the Wi-Fi network ______". So now I know that the problem isn't in my internet.
Please help! I have no idea what to do!
Please someone help! I can't do a thing with this phone! It is so irritating!

Reflash the rom with maglrd, but have you wifi router switched off. once the rom is loaded, look into the wifi settings and see if you see other wifi pick ups.. Now switch on your wifi router. Do you now see your own wifi address! I had a similar problem, but that fixed for me, but also choose wep instead of wap.
C how you get on.

Wi-Fi network available, but no SSID's visible?

Hi you all, I'm new here, so please be patient with me.
I have a weird problem with my (just bought) Landrover Discovery (Spreadtrum SC8810 1.0GHz Cortex A5) phone.
I con't figure out wether its a hardware or software issue, so I'm asking some advice after searching the various posts.
The phone notifies me that there are Wi-Fi networks available, but when I go into the Wi-Fi settings, it doesn't show any SSID's, so its impossible to connect to a network. See attachment.
Can anyone help me out?
Best regards,
Fedor
Hello
It could be normal, if the admin of the wifi network switched off his Wifi network's SSID broadcast. In this case You need to know the correct SSID name to set up the wifi connection. Other case You can't connect to this network.
Of course if Your phone never see any wifi network may be it is a software or hardware bug, but if it happened only one place, where this hidden SSID is reachable, You need to know the name of the SSID correctly.
Laca
Push Menu, then scan.
Thanks for the replies. Please only reply after understanding my question and looking at the attachment.
I've never heard of a problem like this before...but do you ever see any SSIDs? Like at home, Starbucks, ect.
Sent from my LePanII using xda app-developers app
This is either a hidden SSID for security purposes then you should ask for the proper SSID name before connecting else you wont be able to see it even if you scan.....
Like I stated earlier, please only offer sugestions AFTER understanding my question and LOOKING at the attachment. As you can see in the attachment, I have 2 phones next to each other. The Samsung shows plenty of SSID's and the Chinese phone shows none. So wether or not there are hidden networks, is not the issue.
The Chinese phone notifies me that there are available networks (which it should, as there are!), but the SSID's don't show up. Very strange. In other words: it detects the available networks, but doesn't show which ones. So I can't select one to connect to.
My guess is that it has to be a software issue and not a problem with the hardware.
Could there be a code that I can type in, so I can deeper into the WIFI settings?
What android version is each phone running assuming its a software issue?

WIFI Trouble

Hello guys .. so I just got my N6P four days ago .. when I first opened it and tried to connect to my home WIFI network .. it refused to do so .. it didn't even detect my network no matter how close I'm to the router .. and strangely it detected every single WIFI network around my house .. all of them .. I tried lots of things including an early factory reset "I think I've made the fastest factory reset in history after only half an hour opening the box LOL " and it didn't work .. I received 4 security updates using my data and it didn't work .. It didn't actually detect the network except for when I changed the network name from the router's page "It was on marshmallow back then"
Now I thought that it got fixed and everything was alright .. I received the official Nougat update the day after this and all worked so fine .. until I disconnected my router and re-opened it .. the mobile didn't detect the network .. AGAIN !
and again it was detecting all the networks around us .. so I changed the network name again and it worked !
now as you can imagine .. this happened with me another 3 times in the past three days .. and it's really annoying .. the mobile is just fantastic but this issue gets under my skin .
any help guys ?
thanks in advance
Any help?

How many other Wi-Fi hotspots have you tested your phone with...Friend's house, School, Public, etc? If your phone will see and connect to those, then the issue is your router.
Another thought is you say the phone "can't detect my network". If you mean cannot SEE the network, then you may have the router set to not broadcast the AP. You can still connect using "hidden networks" OR just set your router to broadcast the AP which is the default. Lastly, most routers are dual band, meaning 2.4 and 5 Ghz. Usually each has it's own password (and security settings). Try to connecting to each one, and make sure your security settings are compatible with the phone. (eg. WPA2-PSK AES) vs TKIP. Sounds like you may have some router Wi-Fi configuration issues, more than a phone issue. BUT the first step is to test with other known working Wi-Fi AP's.
I had the same, trying three roms within a few hours.
In the end I had to change a router setting, from "channel 13" to "auto".

Well.. It was my first thought that it was a router configuration issue and I tried all of these things.. Unfortunately nothing worked except for changing the SSID.. What irritates me the most that it already can see and connect to any other wifi "friend's school's etc" it only happens with my own home network.. And my own N6P only.. No other device is affected.. I'm still working on it so yeah

Unfortunately it's not an option.. I live in a country where it's really difficult to get a nexus in here in the first place
But yeah that would have been my first option if it was easy

Thanks my friend
Glad to be able to help someone, usually it's me that needs help
