Bear in mind that the Market isn't available in every region. If that's the case, the OP could try downloading SlideME, or using a custom ROM with Market Enabler.

You will only see applications on the Market available in your region, and compatible with your version of Android. Hero is based on Android 1.5, this means you will only see apps that work on 1.5.
If you want to find a specific app, your best bet is to Google it to see what versions of Android it supports.

Dave

use market enabler to get the most from market. other than that use google to search for the app. this for example turns up when i search for "alternate android market": http://androidcommunity.com/forums/f23/alternative-android-markets-25777/
Its sucks a lot, twitter/gmail/fb applications standalone is better!

Thanks.

Install standalone apps for Twitter and FB, there is no requirement to use the MotoBlur ones at all.
Gmail is standard, there is no different Gmail than the one installed on your MS2.

I know that, but the main problem is battery and cpu usage from the motoblur services =[
It's not possible to fully remove it, but it can be pretty much disabled.
Try searching the forum. All the info you need is on here.
Is there an APK out there that works for Nook Color? I am not sure why the App doesn't work. I am running CM 7.1.
4shared.net should have it. Just search draw something.apk
I only recommended you do it for an app that is FREE on the market, that you can't obtain otherwise, because I do not encourage piracy
The version I downloaded from the android market works perfectly well for me.
Same here; I just downloaded it from the market (I guess it's called Google Play now?)
Isn't this it? (I hope I'm allowed to post links...please let me know if I'm breaking any rules!) https://play.google.com/store/apps/...=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5vbWdwb3AuZHN0ZnJlZSJd

You don't need to install GAPPS to run the ROM...
So yes, it's very much possible.
Try it out.
But if you still want Play Store (for apps), you'll need gapps.
Have you used minimal gapps? That's what I use. Gmail, Sync and Play Store. 7MB I think.

I just dictated this message using Google Voice.
So yeah sure it works.
Just enable Google Voice typing in settings and in keyboard settings enable show voice input key.
I installed CyanogenMod 11 (no bigPart) on my Xoom and it works superbly.
The clock app is broken, but the time still show correctly. Apart from that it's flawless.
BTW, if you haven't run it already, definitely check out Lagfix Free (search on Google Play). Rejuvenated my Xoom.
