After rooting do we keep usb debugging on? - Xperia Arc General

Do I still keep the usb debugging mode ON?
Sent from my LT15a using XDA App

No you don't.

Why does titanium back up ask me to enable the usb debugging? I did try to find answer to this before..even it's own faq
Sent from my LT15a using XDA App

yes keep it on.. keep it on all the time.. makes no difference to anything else.. and please.. try to be more descriptive with your thread titles.

Takes a shorter time to detect my phone on my PC when USB debugging is off. That's reason enough for me to keep it off.

Found the answer at TB WIKI FAQ

Thought it was interesting too, but since you didn't give a link to the answer you found here it is:

maybe useful for other newbie android users like myself too

Taking Screenshots?

Is there anyway to take screenshots of whatever is currently showing on your X10 screen like iphone users can? This would be a nice feature. I tried searching the forums here to see but didn't find anything to suggest that you can. Also on ESATO forums you can take shots while connected to your pc but thats not exactly the handiest way. Anyone have a clue if this is possible on our phones?
The only way to take a screenshot in a non rooted Android device is using the Android debugger on a PC connected via USB to the device.
Bummer

Dev needed...

Just like another post I just read, I too need a developer to work with me on an app idea. The app in mind will require interpreting data being fed in via the phone's micro usb port. Someone with experience with the hardware side of things would be a plus to even see if my idea is feasible. If you are interested, please just message me.
Thanks,
Kosta
Anyone?

You got USB debugging selected?
Also - make sure the drivers are recognizing your phone. If necessary, try to Odin EC05 over again and then retry.
Not sure how anyone's going to help you with zero details as to what's happening.
You also want to make sure you have a good USB cable, the one that came with the phone is C R A P.
Every time i'd try to use ADB or odin, things would just fail.

When you say "doesn't start doing its thing" do you mean it cannot find the phone when disconnecting and connecting it or do you mean nothing happens? If nothing happens redownload the Clockwork Mod 2.5.x from the stickies.
Maybe try turning the computer off and the phone off and then both back on. On my last piece of **** epic it wasnt the cords that i was using it was the micro-usb port on the phone that was not working. that may be something to look into.
Make sure you have Antivirus bg scanning and firewalls off. I had 2 which definitely tripped up the process.

Using phone an external boot device?

Hey so I saw that they made a mod where you can jailbreak a ps3 through flashing the firmware on the phone or something ( I don't know it didn't work in the atrix) but my windows somehow locked my hard drive and I need command prompt to unlock. I was wondering is it possible to somehow put a live Ubuntu disc or a windows ISO( anything that's bootable) on my phone and bring my laprop back to life? I'm not able to burn any CD's right now. So yeah I think it'd be pretty cool if this is/can be possible. Or maybe some kind of webtop through usb that's able to boot off a laptop. I don't know. These are just idea that pop into my head. Not sure iftheyre possible CD

Advance settings?

To get it working I saw online that you need to get into advance options. Where is advance options? I don't see it.
Apparently I need to set something with the USB bus mode

Go to about phone and tap the model type seven times. Then you should be able to enable usb debugging.
I think it's model type but if that doesn't work try build.

Again, what you read online was from january. Ergo, it was meant to address settings in gingerbread or honeycomb. Nellybean does not have those settings. What the post above me is describing is the "developers settings". It is for usb debugging, and will not make your usb keyboard work. If you would have provided the info asked for in your other post on the exact same issue, such as rom, kernel, you would not need two seperate posts for the same thing.

I created this post because in the other post I was told that it belonged in the q and a section. I didn't know that my original post was moved here

This has been answered many, many times.
All you had to do was search and you would have found the answer.
