Does anybody have a dump of their Stock System.IMG, Recovery.IMG and Boot.IMG files? Without reading I went ahead and flashed the US image and obviously I'm stuck now as I can't find a stock image for the Euro Xoom.
Thanks
how is it?
did you get stuck on not able to use the 3g modem only or you bricked your xoom?
I have posted several thread warning other uk users not to do what you have done. I wish people would read.
If you do read you will find that the solution is out there in the forum in two of my threads.
That said, there is no way for us to relock yet so on that count you're now screwed like the rest of us.
Macbots drool as I XOOM through the Galaxy to my hearts Desire.
Without looking in to it properly I flashed my UK 3G Xoom with the USA Android 3.1
Turns out it doesn't work... but can't get back to my stock UK image now.
Same problem
Same problem here.
Just managed to semi brick my xoom.
If you manage to find any resources on this please also give me some info [email protected], I'll do the same
You know, one day, I'll get an email notification and it'll be a link to the images on the Moto website.
Until then I'm sitting this one out, because no amount of searching will turn up what doesn't exist.
hi folks..
just a quick suggestion. untill the proper stock rom turn out.
why not try flasing the US wifi only rom.
as in general they are the same, apart from the 3g modem part.
i know by doing that, you will loose the 3g. but what can be worse than having it bricked?
i might work as the UK wifi seems to be able to run on US wifi rom.
just an idea.
Solution
Found it!
1. Get the euro rooted boot image (booteuro.img) and with the device disconnected attempt to fastboot flash it (fastboot flash boot booteuro.img).
2. Fastboot will be waiting for the device to boot into fastboot mode.
3. Shutdown with power + volume up
4. Immediately after shutdown release the buttons
5. Immediately after this press them again (power + volume up)
6. Just after the screen turns on release them and press volume down
Then continue with the rooting procedure you had started before you semi-bricked your xoom
Source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1049901
Also get the file from there as I am somehow unable to upload.

Hmm, that thread looks familiar ... I'm not sure though.
Why the People is so desperate and try to flash the UK Xoom with the US Rom, Jesus, if you just do a little research before flashing like crazy you just stop a little Xoom brick from happen.
alias_neo has already post this like 10000000 times, but people continue bricking devices like little childrens!
sorry if I sound not nice but is the truth!
WAIT, just wait for the uk ROM to be released!
Agree whole heartidly with alias, just wait for it.
However I emailed motorola uk support for an update on the motodev site and uk images. Im going to push to find out why they haven't issued them. I can think of 3 at the moment. But hoping they will give us an update soon.

got a response, , but they said they dont deal with us on a developer level, so we are stuffed for the mean time... xd
I would be very grateful if somebody could post a dump of system.img for the Xoom 3G with the English language... would be nice to at least get it back in a working state again (With 3G and English language).

i was wondering if you would like to try flashing it with a US wifi only rom? not sure if that will work, it might.
but you will only be back onto as a wifi xoom instead of a 3g xoom.
but it will still be better than a brick.

Hi fella, I've bought a 3g WIFI Xoom UK Version off ebay, it sadly has already been rooted and the kernel changed but if I can help out then please let me know.
Does clockwork recovery work ? If so I could take a image.. wipe my data, take another image for you then restore back mine.. not done much flashing but will help if I can.
p.s I would like to turn mine back to stock if possible, ready for the update.

A userdata dump won't work, we won't be able to flash and relock with any dumps, we need the images from motorola, until then, there is no relock for us.
We need to be patient and wait for 3.1.
For the time being, we have Clockwork Mod which works, as does Tiamat (the old version, not the one for 3.1).
Most mods don't work so guys please, stop bricking your devices by flashing stuff meant for US XOOMs.
I've currently got a German 3.0.1 on mine as it's the only thing I can get 3G + WiFi to work on.
I'm not bothered about relocking yet, would just like a working device (in English). I assume a dump from a UK Xoom would work?

It should, yes. But I'm surprised the German version doesn't have English? Did you try going into languages and switching it in the settings?
Yep, only has Deutsch listed... which is quite strange!

Hey guys,
I followed and read so many threads but I dont know what to do anymore.
I flashed to the 315_12332_00 firmware on my Streak that I bought unlocked in the Netherlands.
Baseband now is GAUSB1A131500EU build 12332 and everything works!! (I did not write done the original 1.6 baseband number so I dont know what that was)
Butt......when I rebooted my Streak the GSM/3G services quit.
If I check the settings it now says baseband unknown!!!!! (?)
There is no way to get the GSM/3G functions back except for flashing the 315_12332_00 firmware again!
After first boot it's ok but after a reboot my baseband is gone again!
I tried a lot to downgrade but I can not get it to work :-(
I wanted to flash to the original state 1.6 and wait for my OTA update or flash to Streak_309_0_00 firmware.
How can I make this happen?
Although WiFi works the device really feels bricked right now, saved a long time to buy it :-(
Someone please, please help me
Kind regards Passie

i would try the 309 update and a factory reset after flashing it

Guys, Euroxooms are becoming expensive paperweights pretty quickly.
The boot image is what is bricking the devices as its not compatible when Root is being done.
Obviously we take the risks when we root, but im slightly PO with it Just kidding, i have faith in XDa and i hope to donate soon for such a worthy cause.
My question I pose to the devs is the following, Can someone source out a boot.img to recover back to Stock, for the Mz601 model? (3g / wifi Euro variant)
I see all the recovery and root for the Verizoom, but nothing for our Europe brothers here
Has there or is there, any work being done on recovering bricked devices?
A shot into the dark here .... have you attempted flashing the US system image?

I rooted my UK Xoom without problems but when I tried one of the BigDX Xoom themes I got loads of Force Closures.
I had no option but to flash the boot.img and system.img files taken from the Canadian (MZ604)
At least this recovered my Xoom to a working version and now works fine now running a rooted Xoom with the latest Tiamat Xoom 1.4.0 kernel.
I have now made a Nandroid backup using ClockworkMod Recovery should I have problems in the future.
Hopefully, someone will pull the recovery.img, boot.img and system.imf files from the UK Xoom???
Cheers
Ody

Guys be patient, I have a stock system and boot image for us, we just need to get a recovery, DO NOT ROOT using the methods here, I will post a rooted boot for euro as soon as I can get it tested.
I have asked the people posting the root instructions to mention that it should not be used on the euro xoom's but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears.

may i suggest that the Devs sticky this for the benefit of the European Xoom.
I bricked mine, bought in york, took to Portsmouth CPW and they replaced it there and then, you might not be so lucky, but i think we need to be careful with bricking it lol ,
On a lighter note, how do we dump our roms with boot, system image files, for the benefit of all those who want to unbrick their uk / euroxooms?
How did you brick your Xoom? You did'nt try and relock it? As I said no problems rooting my Xoom from PCWorld? PUP!!!!

That'll explain it! I may be wrong but to re-lock it, you would need to flash UK image files (boot.img, recovery.img and system.img). I'll leave my UK Xoom unlocked and rooted until Motorola release a proper recovery flash file?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
haha, yeah might be a good idea, you have a DHD too? XD, what you running on it ?
im currently on CM 7.0.2 xd , nice phone :_),
How did you get your root on your tab? i am desperate to root it as TitBAckup is a necessity xd plus i want to experiment, do you think its worth waiting till the files for the Eurotab are released?
When i try to boot my tab after the one click root, it was at that point it was bricked, i didnt try to lock it until after ,
weirdly enough though, i could still use fastboot after to do one click root, etc, and lock and unlock and install CWM,
Yep DHD running HDMix Gingerbread! To be honest I don't think you bricked your xoom if you can still get Fastboot? I don't know why one click root didn't work for you but did for me? That said Titanium isn't working for me with the latest Tiamat 1.4.0 kernel.
Also just to say my UK Xoom is WiFi only (not 3g) might explain why I could root mine?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
yeah if you have a wifi only xxom, thatll explain why you have bee able to use the 604 canadian images.
Quick question for you EU zone Xoom wifi owners... on the back of your device where the CE mark is, does it also list an FCC ID? If so what is it?
yes it does, erm, it would vary with the wifi model obviously, ill have alook abd get back to you

I really should have asked if there was a TUV registration number and FCC ID. (CE mark is a certificate of self conformance).
What I was trying to determine is if the hardware between the euro spec wifi xoom and the us spec wifi xoom are the same. If they are then both units could share the same fcc id. In theory the wifi Xoom could hold both a TUV ID, and FCC ID since there is in theory no need to make engineering changes between the units to meet compliance regulations, and because of the costs involved most companies tend not to make engineering changes if they do not need to.
The 3G units will obviously have variations because of the different Rx/Tx frequencies for the various cellular carriers, but
My WiFi FCC ID Number is IHDT56MT1

First of all , i know there is a thread about removing the Unlocked bootloader logo. This thread is started just to present some information based on my personal experience.
I owe a Motorola Razr I with unlocked bootloader .......
A couple of weeks ago i decided to come back to ICS from the JB fastboot i was using(orange UK). Instead of using fastboot files made by mattlgroff I decided to fully flash the original ICS firmware for my phone using RSDlite. After the firmware was flashed i pushed the signed logo to the device.Of course the phone didn't finish booting and got stuck in bootloop. My phone became then a brick with a black screen and green led and i had to use the files from here to unbrick my phone. Big thanks to U1138 for finding the solution for unbricking.
When my phone phone finally booted i was so excited i didn't realize the ugly Bootloader unlocked logo is gone. I realized that yesterday while restarting the device and thought it's good to share it with everyone else and maybe will find a way for everyone to get rid of the ugly message on the boot screen.

here's a short video to proof the unlocked bootloader message is gone
I am not a hundred perent sure of that, but I think this worked on your device because you unlocked your bootloader while on ICS then, upgraded to JB using matt's fastboot.
For someone who upgraded to JB using the OTA and only then unlocked their bootloader, this won't work because the motoboot file version is already the highest (homemade fastboot does not flash motoboot, that's why you were able to flash after a downgrade)

Yes, its for unlocking the bootloaders for the Snapdragon Motorolas (Atrix HD, RAZR HD and RAZR M) but after unlocking their bootloaders the same message appears (the same that we have), @tucstwo has provided a file to remove the unlocked message for these phones, I don't know if that zip could be compatible with the RAZR i, but giving the fact that the zip file removes the unlocked message for these phones ALREADY RUNNING JELLY BEAN, maybe someone can give a try and see what happens...

Flashing Firmware via Fastboot
You mentioned you are stucked at the initial setup screen. This implies that you need to reflash the stock ROM. Please visit this link to read my post containing instructables to successfully flash stock ROM.
Q. Can I unlock bootloader?
No. As of KDA 20.62 15.1 update, the Trust Zone vulnerability has been fixed which allowed exploit to work.
Q. Can I root?
Yes! Head to this thread to root (install SU) on your RAZR.
Q. Can I downgrade?

Flashing Firmware via Fastboot
You mentioned you are stucked at the initial setup screen. This implies that you need to reflash the stock ROM. Please visit this link to read my post containing instructables to successfully flash stock ROM.
Q. Can I unlock bootloader?
No. As of KDA 20.62 15.1 update, the Trust Zone vulnerability has been fixed which allowed exploit to work.
Q. Can I root?
Yes! Head to this thread to root (install SU) on your RAZR.
Q. Can I downgrade?
Unfortunately no! You are stucked permanently with the Kitkat flavour.

So I am wondering if I am the only Canadian user that managed to buy a device with a locked bootloader? I contacted Sony Dev world and they stated there is no OFFICIAL way of unlocking this once it has been set to "BOOTLOADER UNLOCKABLE" = "NO". This is a dam piss off as I was a eager to build AOSP for this device and acquired it for this purpose.
So much for that plan!

I have not heard from the general public yet on this and so far I have yet to find a way to unlock this boot loader. How is it I'm the only Bell user that found a locked boot loader? I've currently rolled back to 5.1.1 and am still unable to find a solution.
Odd if I'm the only Bell user in this situation.
I got one and it says same thing. Guess I have to sell the device. Very dissapointed.
Have you tried flashing "Customized XX" file via Flashtool instead and then try unlocking it? Usually carrier locked firmware prevents the device from being unlocked.
Yes I've gone all the way back to firmware it comes with pre release, as it would be for promotion to retailers. I've tried everything listed in xda nothing has changed the boot unlock to yes. Mine is now on the" for sale" list as I bought it specifically because Sony is supposedly selling open and unlocked devices for developer friendly experience. This is not the case with a Bell Mobility device.

Changing firmware will never change your bootloader status...if it's locked to start with it's going to stay locked...
Carriers do special deals with oem's to have exclusivity or to sell their products and ask them to lock down the bootloader...
Don't buy from carriers to remedy to that problem...
Sony on the other hand sells its devices unlocked...!
I have the same infuriating problem - further to that, since a security update pm hide no longer works via adb. I was all ready for 7.1 as well and everything has just been a huge letdown.
Sorry fellas, you got the same un-rootable pile of Bell exclusive BS that I've been stuck with since last year.
Zero way to get root on these devices. Period.
Only suggestion is to toss an international ROM on it via Flashtool/Xperifirm and go from there - you'll at least get faster software patches/updates.

I used Sony Mobile Flasher by Androxyde v 0.9.23.2 (MUST be at least 0.9.23.x or you'll get an error)

Scratch that ... The firmware on that post is Russian even after selecting English on first boot. (there's still some stuff that shows in Russian)
https://depositfiles.com/files/yd5q2j22m <-- AU firmware posted on xperiafirmware.com
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862696598 <-- Sony Mobile Flasher by Androxyde v0.9.23.1 ... takes a long time to download
Install the flashtool
http://www.flashtool.net/torrents/patches/windows/x10flasher.jar <-- Copy file to flashtool install folder (c:\flashtool) to upgrade to v0.9.23.2 (this step is not needed, but recommended)
Backup your phone and turn it off and don't plug it in to your computer yet
Now move the downloaded firmware to your c:\users\{username}\.flashtool\firmwares folder
Run the flashtool (exe in c:\flashtool)
Click on the Lightning bolt
Keep Flashmode selected and click OK
Click on the arrows in the left pane to expand the list until you get to 32.3.A.0.372 and click on that
In the Wipe section, check everything (best to do a clean install)
Click the Flash button
No just wait until a popup comes up telling you to plug the phone in and press the down volume button at the same time.
WAIT .... now it's flashing and takes a while.
Once done, the first boot take a while longer then normal.
You'd think that if you can flash a stock rom this way that you'd be able to flash a rom with a stock rooted kernel and use the flashtool to install root with out needing to unlock the bootloader .... But I'm sure people have already thought of this and for some reason or another, it didn't work.
Like the others on here... I'm not happy with not being able to root... Never buying a phone from the provider again :|
