Hello guys I am from chennai. I used to have 3G signal signal in my ecliars and official xxjp2 rom. But in the custom rom I am not getting any 3G symbol at all. And no data network connection.

Menu > Settings > Wireless & network > mobile networks > access point names > new
edit ur apn in 2nd row.. Give a name in 1st row..
To know whats ur apn contact ur customer care.. or tell me ur service provider name.. I can help u, if I knw it..

hey guys, i have a motorola atrix locked for at&t but im using it with a sim unlocker..i can make calls and sms everything is working great..but there is a problem..i can use data connection..when i put my APM settings and try to save it disapear..the problem is with the MMC THING IN THE APN CONFIGURATION..my operator MMC is 415 but the one i see in the configuration is 001 ..WHEN I CHANGE THE 001 TO 415 AND AND CLICK SAVE THE APN CONFIGURATION DISAPEAR..How can u fix it guys?? plzz help..thankk uu

Is the data enabled? Go into mobile networks and make sure its checked on. Are you using at&t?

Hmm.. I tried altering my apns mmc number and it deleted the apn on me and I lost data. I had to reset defaults. Have you tried an app like apn global to configure the setup?

So I just got my Note 3 SM N900 a few weeks ago. However the signal received was very weak, so I used Odin to flash a new modem (DXUBMI1, as demonstrated in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475714).
After flashing, the voice call and SMS were more stable, I constantly got -51dbm in signal strength. Yet in terms of network connection I could only connect via EDGE (2G). When rebooting, the phone could connect to HSDPA (3G) initially, but after a while, it drops 3G and turns to 2G again, hence I believe the problem is not with the service provider.
Please see the screenshots for more details. My questions are: how do I improve connectivity and are there any other better modem base band to flash on my Note 3 (I bought the phone and currently live in Vietnam).

Just edit out your IMEI Number from that screen shot first - keep that number to yourself always.
Do you have a case on the phone? Or a bumper?

Try this go to settings > more networks > mobile network > then change network mode to WCDMA only then reboot your phone.

I forced it to WCDMA only and got 3G for a while...then the signal just went out altogether. The phone signal only came back after I switched back to WCDMA/EDGE auto select.
Is there any chance this problem is hardware related?
It is possible that it is hardware yes. However. . For some bizarre reason it may be the case.. take it off and see how it performs then you can reassess

Tried taking off the case and the problem still doesn't resolve...I have it swapped for a new one. Thank you though.

Wow thanks! Sorry for the late reply, but i was having the same issue as OP and I had my settings for GSM only and was only getting EDGE, changed the network mode and I am now getting H+ Thank you!!!
I have note3 n900 imei null/null and unknown baseband
I flashed it n900xxudnc1 4.4.2 now every thing is ok but network not working
I flash the modem file in cp by odin 3.09 after flash modem inein going null and baseband unknown

Firstly i live in Kosovo (small country in Eastern Europe) and i use IPKO Mobitel sim card.
I am having a very weak signal on my Octa variant , i did root it in the past and changed the firmwares 2-3 times and flashed CM11 but after coming to stock non-rooted 4.3 i am having poor signal always 1 bar and sometimes even 0 when im at my home. I tried flashing different modems but still same no loss or gain..

Go to Settings>More Networks>Mobile networks>Network mode and change it to gsm only. if it doesn't help then change it to wcdma only and if even that doesn't work then change to auto connect and get a new connection from a better company
Note: It takes some time to switch network mode so be patient and give it a minute or two to properly shift.

how did u get this screen?
My galaxy s4 lte us cellular version (sch r970) won't connect to the internet ams idk why.. It gets signal.. I went back to stock and its still doing the same thing

Here are a few things you can do.
Restart your phone.
Call customer support of ur cellular company.
Flash the stock rom using odin.
Don't hesitate to hit the thanks button

As you said that you have flashed a custom ROM and now on stock rom,
Check whether you still have the IMEI #.
Also try insterting the Sim card on another device to check if Sim working, if working then try doing a factory reset.
Also once factory reset done as go in Setting-More Networks-Mobile Networks-Access points-Reset to default.
Try the above steps and let me know if problem still persists.

Is this an issue with all the ROMS.?? I do not wish to go back to stock but I travel a lot and can't do without the data on roaming.

Which rom are you using? I don't have this problem on stock but i haven't tried any custom rom on roaming.
Sorry for not having mentioned before. My phone is rooted and runs on RR. Resurrection ROM. I've tried using other custom roms too. The same issue persists. I don't want to go back to stock.

I have the roaming plan active. Even tried my sim on a friend's cell phone and it works perfect. Yes, I have used AOSP Roms only. Have not tried different roaming operators though, because had just my sim. Trying out different apn settings too.
