Did anyone notice a infinite loading in 'manage apps' - Atrix 4G General

on home screen click the menu button --> manage apps
even on a newly reflashed phone,i found it would load infinitely the first time you run it and you would have to quit and reopen
otherwise, just let it circle until your battery drains out!

My phone does this also. Rooted and sideloaded on 4.1.83. Can't explain it.

Stuck at boot screen. Please help!

So here is what happened. I downloaded the full version of titanium backup from the app market and proceeded to follow the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Bloatware to get a faster, more clean stock rom. I got to the "Home" item and checked in the normal applications menu from the home screen to see if there was a "Home" app of sorts. So I went ahead and froze it and kept going through the apps. Long story short I eventually found out I could not access the home screen and in my nerd rage I rebooted the phone only to find it would not go past the boot screen because it didn't have a "Home" to launch in to.
How can I fix this?
Thanks in advance.
if you can launch the voice command by double pressing home or long pressing search, say "market" and it will launch the market, where you can download a home launcher.

Hey thanks, that's a start! I found that I can get past the "red eye" boot screen if you will by sliding my invisible lock slider over. From there all I have is a black screen and then the notification blind. Unfortunately, your suggestions of accessing the market arent working for me. I had previously mapped my double press home to the dialer, and the long press search errors out giving me a "Connection Problem" pop-up with the options to speak again or cancel. I also notice that I am in flight-mode...

If you are comfortable with using adb, you could probably push an apk into /system/app
If you dig through the development sub-forum I am pretty sure there is a link to the stock system archives. You could push the original blurhome.apk

I have just learned how to do basic adb functions while rooting a co-worker's Milestone, so that won't be a problem. I'll try transfering that and see what happens. Thanks for the tips guys.
It's fixed now! I ended up fixing it by going through the Advanced Task Killer (Froyo edition), clicking on titanium backup, and hitting switch to option to go back into titanium. Thanks for the help

Open home problems

Hey guys this is my first post here and I tried to search for an answer before posting. Here's what I have:
-HTC Hero CDMA
-cyanogenmod 6.1 heroc
-most recent sprint radio 2.42.01.04.27
-decafuct kernel 2.6.29.6
-open home full 4.4
Since I installed the new kernel and radio two things are happening.
1. Thy wifi says 'error' when I try to turn it on.
2. Everytime I reboot as soon as the home screen comes up it says that openhome had a problem and needs to be closed so I select forclose (my options are forceclose and report) Then after a second the home screen shows up, I see the the phone is mounting my sd card and my icons are all there but they are the generic android icons. If I click on any it says, this application is not installed. So I go into application manager and force close openhome again, and that restores it. Also any Widgets I had installed has the error 'problem loading widget' if I long press the screen to put a widget back, most of the Widgets aren't showing up to select. At least the ones that were running before the reboot. Any ideas? I've tried starting in safe mode and the home screen never comes up all I can access is the status bar on top.
And yes, open home is installed on the phone and not the SD

[Q] app menu crashes whenever I search

Whenever I'm in the applications menu > press the menu button > select SEARCH without a doubt it crashes, (but not into a reboot) kicks me out of the app menu and back to the home screen where I have to wait about 15 seconds for all the icons and widgets to reload before being able to do anything.
The phone was previously rooted until I foolishly updated to .621 and just until recently I was running the Nemus Launcher though I doubt that has anything to do with the current problem.
I searched both on XDA and on the internets but did't see anyone else having this issue though it could be my wording that's hindering the find.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated

Apps not showing on home screen

Hey guys, I will try to find include as much info as I can. I have Google play loaded on the device. I tried to uninstall an app and the icon remained, trying to uninstall it again gives me a pop-up about the app files do not exsist. Ever since then if i install an app from either the play store or the Amazon app store they will not show up on the main screen. The apps are there and I can remove them via settings. I have tried a hard reset as well as reinstalling the initial app that caused the problem. When I do that the app icon works again but no new apps show up still. If I uninstall it again it does the same thing as the first time, the icon stays.
I was hoping there was something running in the background i can clear the data for or something to fix this. I do not know enough about it to tinker around with it. I have some stuff downloaded from Google play that i cannot backup. A factory reset will lose the data on those accounts so I am trying to avoid it.
If you have any suggestions I will gladly try them, thank you in advance for your help
Mine is doing the same today, I've uninstalled it but the icon remains on the screen. I've also tried others that I've installed from Google play, all behave the same.
Are new apps that you install showing up? I cannot get any new app to appear.
Settings, ,,, apps & games,,,,,manage all applications, ,,, Running ,,,, press the three dots on top of the screen to show cached processes. Open SHOW CACHED PROCESSES, ,,,,,select Home Pages icon,,,,, select STOP... GO TO HOME PAGE AND IT IS FIXED
Same issue happening on my Fire HD 10. No newly downloaded apps showing on home screen, and icons for uninstalled apps are grayed out. Tried clearing the home screen cache, but no luck.

This might be somewhat related. Please try the following trick to see if it helps:
(1). Settings --> Apps & Games --> Manage All Applications
(2). Swipe left in order to display "ALL" applications and then scroll down to select the application named "Home Pages"
(3). Tap "CLEAR CACHE" and then "FORCE STOP"

Clearing the data and cache for the home screens did finally work for me! I had to reorganize all my apps on the home screen, but not a big deal.
huge thanks for that.

Thanks! I had the same issue today, and I did the above steps twice for it to take hold. All fixed now! :good:
This was driving me nuts. This is the solution! No way I would've found it on my own if I had a million years. Thanks!
Cant uninstall app, this app has no icon its just blank. Theres a blank slot in the device administrators as well it can be checked and unchecked but has no information about it. Just blank if anyone can help it would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
cant create folder shortcut
Sorry to wake this thread up, but I can't seem to create a shortcut to a folder on my sd card on the fire hd8 tablet for kids. I have downloaded many different file explorers, have used them to create a shortcut, they say the shortcut has been created and is on home screen, but the folder shortcut never shows up on the home screen. Any help please....

Problems with app power management and restart

Hi Folks
I have two annoying little problems with my device
first is with the app power management, I have a clock widget on my home screen and the power management
always comes up with the suggestion put the app to sleep, (see pic) but if I do the widget is not working anymore
is there somewhere an option where I can exclude this app from being monitored?
The second problem is with the restart when the phone restarts it doesn't do it completely, I have to put in the pin first
and then it completes the restart process, which is especially annoying when I have it set for auto restart somewhen in the night
and have set an alarm the following morning, which then doesn't go of...
Any Solutions there?

The clock app is being killed by android battery management. Go to settings> search: special acces> press optimize battery usage> from the left corner select apps optimized> search for your app and turn off the toggle. That should be it
For your second problem. I've read on another thread that a clock update might have broken the auto restart - alarm problem. I'm not very sure but try to uninstall from settings>apps the updates from the stock clock app. And try again the process

The first solution does not help because this specific app is, for whatever reason, not on this list...
I might have been a bit confusing with my second problem, it has not directly to do with the auto reboot, but with the boot process itself
the boot process goes only as far as the lock screen, then I have to put in my pin, the fingerprint is not an option, and after that, it says "phone is starting" and finishes the boot,
the same procedure applies after the auto restart... so if I have set an alarm the system isn't ready yet to start the alarm app...
