So all I've been hearing lately is all about this A-TT merger with T-Mobile. I don't know why our dear mother wants to marry this asshole anyways! They are not right for each other! Ok I get it., our mom (TMobile) is depressed cause all her kids run amock, flashing anything and anybody and thinks we need a father figure in our lives to settle us down... but it's not gonna work!! I can see it now... dad comes home late with a little to much alcohol in his system, starts demanding more money for room and board, and we all know that he's just gonna use that money to take out the neighbors wife behind moms backs... He ends up sleeping with the girl next door(sprint) Getting her pregnant... then leaving our mom nothing in the divorce and blaming everything on her constant drug use due to her being unhappy... Can't you see what he's done to us? We used to be a happy family.. We didn't need him in our lives. But believe me my brother's and sisters... I know we'll make it if we stick together... Iove you all!

The Way I look at it is, My dad was an M.I.T professor who studied the effects of LSD on himself and Sea Monkies. To top it off, he never played baseball with me and insisted that I played hide the quarter in the shed with my uncle. My mother was a overweight bow legged French Canadian street walker who hated breast feeding. She loved to throw pebbles in the water. (My nickname is pebbles) When she'd come home to grab condoms from her draw, she would always remind me that should of used a vibrator that night in 84 (I was born in 84) @ age 12, I developed the taste for food and water. I always enjoyed meatloaf day in shcool. My teachers told me "It's not the size of the **** but the sock your putting in it". I realized every time I would lose weight my girlfriend would find it. I was called a lot of things growing up, my dad called me not his. I got so stoned once that i tried to pack a toilet bowl, the **** wouldn't light. I think Axe body spray smells like date rape. How come every time I poop I pee, but every time I pee I don't poop? So then I decided to root my phone.

Dreamsforgotten, last I talked to k0nane personally on the night of the ACS/INC start he told me Dreams was knee deep in smali code (theming) for the Nexus 4g..
So we definitely have a lot of important pieces missing to the big Epic 4g puzzle... I sure hope one day they all come back so we can finish this picture.
We still have some great themers and developers, plus many new in the last month or so up and comers that have made a great impact on the scene so we are going to all have to pull together and do the best with who/what we have. Everything will be fine.
Now more than ever everyone needs to work together, hand in hand and share to make future GB and the last of EC05 development the best it can be for the Epic 4g.

not really, I can do what I need to do with my Evo without it being rooted. Of course rooting is a plus and I would love to have it, but I don't need it. The most important thing I used root for was wifi tethering anyways, and I have been able to bode well with the EasyTether app until I get root, although it doesn't support PPTP VPN for whatever reason...
The bloatware is just pissing me off! All the stupid apps that run in the background that you can't kill. HTC and Sprint are gay for locking the phone down.

I really hate that you created a thread to make this largely nonsensical and inane comment, but I'll bite and ask what you think that you're missing out on without the ability to root? It is still a fully-functional smartphone, albeit with a little bloatware and Sense. You can still surf the web, check email, install apps, etc.
Think of your phone as vanilla ice cream. Good, dependable, and you know what you're getting every time. Rooting offers different, sometimes exotic flavors. Some are good, some aren't so good; some are dependable and offer enhanced or at least similar experiences, whereas some just leave a bad taste in your mouth. In the end, though, it's all ice cream. So eat it.
do you even know how much it costs to replace a window? consider the fact that you would likely be without a phone due to the impact of the phone going through the glass and making contact with hard surface again resulting in you having to spend even more money on another replacement. even worse is if the phone actually landed into your neighbors fenced yard. not only would you have lost a window, but your neighbor would have your phone in refurb-condition because it landed in his soft, lush, well-taken-care-of lawn.

Unrooted the evo pisses all over any blackberry and I had them all, up until last year my job made us have them (on there dime). So I wish this phone was rootable but it could be alot worse...

I just wanted to thank the devs for their time and hard work,i hope i'm not outta place for saying this,but oh well,i think it needs to be said.
I want to personally thank all the devs that put their time,dedication and hard work to use for the XDA community,just like the rest of us,devs have jobs and families besides doing this for us for free,you know most of their ole ladies ***** and raise hell with them,when all they are trying to do is give to the community,so this is just one of the headaches they go through,so come on guys and try to give more appreciation towards the devs,don't be afraid to say thanks and give these guys some props that they well deserve.Trust me,i'm sure theres a few of us that have tried to develope a rom and failed miserably because its probably the most time staking,tedious job you can do and takes alot of concentration and devotion.I think it takes a great person to do all that for us.Again thanks guys for your hard work to keep us going.

Definitely agree with this thread! I'm just starting out trying to learn to dev, and mine eyes have been opened. My level of appreciation has grown exponentially the more I learn. Hat's off to all our great devs here in the EVO forum, and all xda. Thanks to the OP as well for recognizing what these guys do. It's tiring seeing the posts and threads of whiners and trolls that have no appreciation.

It is most definitely hard work I have been working on my rom since about 2 weeks before Christmas and still haven't gotten it ready for a release yet, I think I have put an average of 20+ hours a week into it and it still continues to grow, I'm no noob to coding either and it is still a challenge even with my extensive background with Linux and yes my wife *****es that if my phone had a vagina I'd divorce her and marry it almost every day as a matter of fact she's nagging as I type this

Jamie was always an all-around good guy in my book. Heck of a developer, to boot. He gave us one of the best AOSP ROM's for the OG EVO, and his Pac Man ROM for the EVO LTE was very popular, also. I hate all that's gone on lately. Jamie, best of luck to you.

Somehow, I don't think people get banned just for the hell of it, nor have I ever seen many get perma-banned, so, over react much?

in fact he could only have meant that post since that's the only post jamie has made on xda since the flurry of posting activity that irritated the xda people in the first place.
hardly what i would call posting "regularly", especially since he explicitly says it's his last post ever on xda unless some site administrators explain their response.
i don't really have a dog in that fight. i just liked the way reloaded runs on my phone and appreciate jamie's dedication in making that happen. if more ROMs come, i'll flash them. if i have to find them on twitter, i'll find them. for now i wish him well, even if i expect he isn't going away for long.

XDA does seem to over-react sometimes,but you need to figure that we have alot of easily influenzed minds here in XDA(kids)we're their piers and XDA is just trying to hold some order in here,it keeps people from *****in and complaining soo much,noone wants to come to a forum where all there is,is flamming and griping about this and that,yea some or most bans,could have been handled different,but we dont own this forum,we just reside here temporarily,you should know this,Hip.

It looks more like the decision was Jamie's to leave XDA, not the mods. It has happened several times before where the Dev's asked the Mods to close their threads because of the drama that goes on in them. If he were banned, his account would be frozen and his threads would all be closed.

Thank you kendall. I think jrollercoasters started this for everyone to say positive things about Jamie's contributions to us and our device, not speculate on what happened. Let's all just give him thanks we think he may deserve as I believe that is what this thread was intended for.
