Xrecovery and formatting SD Card - XPERIA X10 General

Sorry for this maybe noobie question, but when i format my SD-card will XRecovery still be on my phone? In other words is Xrec installed on inernal memory or sd-card?
Thanks in advance!

xrexovery is installed in /system/bin or /system/recovery so it will be still there if you format your sd card

Thanks! My SD-card is getting pretty full, with all ROMS and Apps installed and dont want it to be to messy!

You do understand that formatting it will erase everything right? best to back it up to a PC first.

How can i disable Apps2SD on my Cyanogen 2.7.1?

Hello XDA,
Can anyone instruct me on how i would go about disable Apps2SD on my Cyanogen 2.7.1 Mytouch3g? Thanks.
By posting in the Q&A
But follow the guy below me's answer. Meant to put that to not seem like a butt, but forgot
If you don't have a partitioned sd card it will be disabled. Just have one partition (fat32) and viola, no apps2sd
perhaps a way to disable without having to re-partition an sdcard (currently using apps2sd) would be helpful?

Is there a way to move the apps of the partition first? Just mv everything into /system/data?

exactly what i wanted to ask...
Any help with this?
You could try removing them all from the SD card and just install them using a batch file, any data that was created should still be on there as you just removed the .apk and they won't be modified. And to format the SD card, easiest way I know how is just flash AmonRa's recovery image and use the option in there, but before you do, take all the files off of your SD card.

anyone know how to disable app2sd

i need all the sd space i can manage to find for some maps. (navigation)
how can i disable apps2sd? danger's most current rom, if it matters
When in recovery, partition the SD card. When you partition the SD card, make sure everything is "0" and then leave all the rest of the space for fat32 partition.
This will delete EVERYTHING on your SD card, you'll have to flash whatever ROM you were using again, but apps2sd will be disabled.

Just back up the entire SD card to a computer and recopy everything after you repartition. That way, you still have everything, just not the apps. Astro has a great app backup tool.

Do i have to format my sd card to install android the NAND way? or can i just leave it alone? I think i've got it all down with the rest of the steps, as far as the HSPL and magldr, then pick a ROM. Just wasnt sure if I NEEDED to format my sd card. any other tips would help out alot also. this is going to be my first attempt at this. wish me luck! thank you too.

No, you don't need to. However, if you are going to be flashing a ROM that requires an SD-EXT partition and you don't already have one, the process of creating the partition (typically through CWM) will wipe your SD card anyway.
no, it's not necessary to format SD card.

Format external sd card, but why would you? You can just wipe what you dont`t need.
Usualy its enough to data factory reset, wipe both caches and format system before flashing a new rom. You don`t have t wipe the internal and external sd cards.

Format sdcard will do, that will wipe everything. Did you backup the EFS folder and stored it on your pc.
