Vlingo woes - Galaxy S II General

Hmm,
So I tell Vlingo to start when BT is activated.
When I switch on my stereo headphones and start music, Vlingo starts and bugs me.
And it only listens (and responds to the double-tap) when it's open in the foreground; start something else and you have no voice command.
Can someone suggest an alternative, you know, that will listen to me when I press the button on my BT for example?
Ferg.

Audio over bluetooth

I have skype installed on my qtek 9000, and wanted to be able to use it from my bluetooth headset (Jabra 250). I started skype from the qtek screen, and of course could not get the bluetooth audio to stay on for more than a few seconds. The cyberon voice dialer keeps starting up, and as soon as it is through waiting for sound, it shuts down and so does the bluetooth headset audio. I happened to create a voice tag to start skype, and made a 100% repeatable discovery. If I start skype from the headset, I have continuous audio. Even if I shut skype down in memory, running programs, the audio continues in the jabra. If I start skype from the qtek screen, this does not happen. Once I have the continuous audio connection, a simple press of the headset button reverts all to normal. Hopefully there will be some information here to allow a hack of the audio gateway problem.
i just tried to reproduce this on my mda pro with jabra 800...it worked..actually it is my feeling it worked ecactly every other time.but this is ok too, if one knows it you can tell by the noise in the headset if its connected or not..amazing...what a useful information...great! thanks for posting...interesting no one else jumped on it yet...the question now is how to get an incoming call into the headset...
So you're saying you can listen to audio over the headset or something?
V
vj: thats exctly right...isn't that amazing? the moment you get the headset connected through bringing up skype with the voice tag, the headset stays connected until you disconnect it again by pressing the appropriate button on the headset..even if then you switch apps it stays on..you hear every system sound etc in the headset.obviously the sound is a noisy phone headset sound and sure has nothing to do with a2dp..but you hear...actually i just tried to do the trick with assigning a voice tag to media player...didn't work...but skype can initiate it and keeps it up...cool...
AndyME: give me a few mins and I'll show you a better trick... coming soon
V
you know what: i expected something like this from you when i saw that apparently you got nterested...lol...the good thing about this trick is: you do not have to restart the device to get into this mode..although i stll have not figured 100% out how to make it happen for sure...it kind of works sometimes and sometimes not...now i am curious to see what you are coming up with....lol...
Ok Andy, finally finished the webpage.

You basically want to try the -agon option. It should, I hope, transfer audio straight over to your headset. I hope.

Bluetooth headset as earphones

Does anyone know how in WM5 I can make my Plantronics M2500 bluetooth headset, which shows up in bluetooth xection as "headset" work like an external speaker? In pocket2003 on my h6315 I was able to tell it to have all sound, or just phone sound go to my bluetooth, and I rather enjoyed listening to music while working. But I cannot find even half the options in the bluetooth section as in 2003.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
p.s. loving my MDA.
I found this out by accident. If you are running Microsoft Voice Command, evidently it does not shut down the link to the headset. I have found that if I start playing something (i.e., in Windows Media Player) and then activate Voice Command, and then just let Voice Command time out, the sound will switch to the bluetooth headset.
And Voice Command allows you to control the Media Player, as well!
headset as ear phones
I tried playing my media player then activationg voice command. Sorry didn't work for me. after the voice command timed out, it reverted to the mda speaker. Any thoughts?
There is a utility for this. It comprises 3 programs.
One turns on blutooth as the speaker, one turns it off, and the third toggles it.
I found this somewhere in the forum but can't remember where so I've attached it here.
Copy the programs to your wizard and run them as needed.
do a search for VJVolubilis. That will do what you are looking for also. I stream radio to the headset while at work pretending to be busy!

BT Headset issue. Please help.

Hi. I have a Spring ppc-6700 running wm5 with the latest rom.
My problem is that I cannot use the BT headset to talk on Skype or to listen to music from the computer. I do not know how to switch to the headset. It's paired and i see the headset icon on the screen. Before the latest rom i used to press the action button on the headset and it would switch to it. Now when i press the button i get this annoying voice dialing feature.
OT: When i use skype it only works in speakerphone mode. Any way i can get skype to work through the earpiece so emulate talking on the phone?
Thanks.
This is normal behavior.
Skype does not support the phone functions on Pocket PC and so your (mono) Bluetooth headset does not get its sound. The same happens for ANY application that is not part of the "phone" functionality of the Pocket PC. The mono Bluetooth headsets ONLY work with applications that recognize the "HSP or HFP Bluetooth profiles".
>Any way i can get skype to work through the earpiece
There are two ways to do that:
1. Email Skype and tell them to get their sh*t together and provide a phone-friendly version of Skype that supports HSP/HFP.
2. Buy a *stereo* Bluetooth headset. This will work both for music and general pocketPC sound (in A2DP/AVRCP mode) and in HFP/HSP mode (for phone calls). With a stereo Bluetooth headset you can hear the Skype sound on your headphones, but you will still need to talk using the PocketPC's microphone (until Skype supports the HSP/HFP profile that is). For normal phone calls, you will be able to use the headphones and microphones of the BT headset directly.
It all boils down to applications support the HSP/HFP BT profile.
i've used the bluetooth headset with skype before but after this update with the stupid voice dialer app, i just can't get it to work at all. I want to get rid of voice dialer app. and have sound being routed to the headset as before.
I tried BTAudioToggle.exe with no success. Absolutely nothing happens.
FIXED.
I went to
HK_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VOICECOMMAND\Path
And cleared the path. This way when i press the bluetooth button on the headset it just activates the headset profile but doesn't launch the stupid voice dialer which shuts off the headset profile.

Voice Command, headsets, and OMG!

Does anyone have a step-by-step way of removing that blasted Cyberon rubbish from the Ameo? I bought (having tried, um... other sources) MSVC 1.6 UK from Handango, wondering if perhaps a real EXE-from-PC install would somehow work "better", but same problems.
I had it working yesterday via BT headset to listen, but no notifications came through so commands were messed up. Removed it, and installed again; I've remapped the "Web 'n' Walk" key to activate it. Now what I don't understand is this:
Installed yesterday. No attempt to remove Cyberon:
Worked okay for a while. Worked with BT headset button. Didn't respond to commands from BSH-100 headphones, but they're junk anyway. Bluetooth started getting unreliable and wouldn't pair with Nokia BH-200 headset after working fine with it for an hour or so.
Removed MSVC. Reinstalled. It's in the startup folder and so forth. Button on wired headset triggers damn Voice Speed Dial. Haven't tried bluetooth yet. Responds to commands with hardware button, but no option exists to map command to wired headset button.
Removed Sddaemon startup item. STILL comes up when I use the wired headset button.
It's REALLY annoying and frustrating, as MS Voice Command DOES work effectively as a tool. It just doesn't, well, work. And I think nearly all of the problems it has are down to the presence of this Voice Speed Dial, which I will never use - I'm not recording voice tags for everything, this is the 21st Century!
Also, why doesn't TCPMP follow UI conventions?! It keeps starting up in portrait mode and won't fix itself unless I use the T-Mobile "screen rotation" icon.
EDIT:
Okay. I paired the Anycom headset to it.
As a Bluetooth headset, the button dials, makes calls, and if held, brings up Voice Commander. Notifications now come through the headset, and commands are definitely going to the device, but music is played through the unit, not the headphones.
As stereo headphones, the buttons work, but it doesn't hear commands from the microphone in the headphones - only via the built-in microphone. But music (with joint stereo enabled) comes through the headphones alright.
Other than that the Ameo definitely kicks arse, having GPS etc. built in is excellent. Is it really 802.11g, though - or is it like a hacked Universal with 802.11b speed pretending to be 802.11g?

BT Headset, BT CarKit (XCarLink) and M$ Voice Command

I have had a Jabra BT Headset for a couple of years and it works well. I have recently purchased a XCarLink with BT and am now using this in my car instead of the headset. One thing that I liked about the headset was how it worked with M$ Voice Command - i.e. press the 'Talk' button and Voice Command would start and you could say 'call xxx' etc. With the XCarLink if I press the 'Talk' button this justs stops any music that was playing but doesn't start Voice Command.
Is there any tweak I can apply to get this behaviour?
Andy
More testing......
I have been doing some more testing with this as the Jabra BT headset stopped activating Voice Command...
Anyway I have tested a couple of different versions of Voice Command (1.6.19214 & the one from the Diamond 1.6.19581) and both behave the same. If A2DP Joint Stereo is enabled (HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2DP\Settings - UseJointStereo=1) then the 'Talk' button on the BT headset no longer activates Voice Command. If Joint Stereo is disabled the 'Talk' button activates Voice Command (after a soft-reset).
I haven't had time to check the behaviour with the XCarLink but I will post the results when I do.
If anyone has any experience with this or knows a fix then I'd appreciate it.
Andy
Anyone been able to get voice dialling working from the Xcarlink? I just bought one and am having the same problems.
