Thought I'd create a thread where people can post up the differences they notice with the updated firmware. I'll try and keep an update of the posts below:
1) Ability to chance sensitivity of 'Motion Services' in the 'Motion Settings' Menu
Lock screen more responsive.
Home button wakes the phone instantly unless it has been idle for a long time.

Yes, this is one of the first things I've tested out. Annoyed my mate just to do this. hahaha good update even just for that.
not really on topic but at least it would bump the thread up
The default activesync email client is still having problems with HTML and rich format messages I am receiving, I kinda hoped they would fix this glaring thing first.
Really noob question, but... Where/how do you get the new firmware?
Just settings > about > update? That is either just showing a black screen or FCs atm, probably froze too much. Is there an alternative method (over USB)?
I think battery usage is better.. To early to say but android process is low.. Battery hasnt dropped for a long time.. Will see tommorow

By using KIES on your computer (connect the phone through a usb cable to your computer and start KIES).
It will automaticly tell you when a update is availible. But properbly if you bought your phone in The Netherlands, is already had the newest firmware installed.

agreed, some how i have 67% battery after 12 hr. Before I had about 40%
I don't know if this is the right place to post my gripe...but Kies failed in updating my KDD phone to KE1 this morning. It was going through the download process (past 50%) when it said "dll failed". My phone was already in Download Mode and that freaked me out. I took out the battery and restarted the phone....thank god my phone wasn't bricked. It is still running with KDD firmware now and no problems detected so far.
Anyone had similar problems/solutions?

I have seen others that reports around 30% and mine is usually around 60-70 for just the Android system. At first I thought maybe I added something but its like that after I did a hard reset and everything stock.
Anyone else? My battery just seems to drain fast and I need to figure this out. 60% for Android seems high what is everyone elses?
Its at 54% right now.
Android is around 43% for me.
mine stays above 40... i will say that i do believe this is a bug... with my hero android system would never get above 20%
Well at least I am not the only one..This seems really high and needs addressed.

I have maybe 10 apps but it was that high even after a hard reset..it can't be the phone so an exchange wouldn't help..

I have all that turned off..for those of you with low numbers are you rooted with the custom stock Rom? Mine is completely stock and I haven't even done the ota yet cause some said they noticed the battery performance worse.

I took my phone for a ride yesterday to make it a full testing day for the battery. I unplugged it at 9. And used it until 10:30 am, until it gave out. I did all sorts of things with it. Played 3D Games, Watched Iron Man, Listened to music, talked on the phone highly and even did some tethering. And the phone lasted more than 12 hours. I mean. COME ON! What more can you ask for!? Hell yeaH!!
I cant believe how far mine is..I dont use a task manager cause everyone says not to cause Android handles memory so great..It doesnt look like it to me!
I unplugged my phone at 6am and im at 23% four hours later..I guess ill try that task manager..I dunno what else to do!

Look it up in the market my friend. Its called Advance Task Manager. Also, try having the refresh on things like Facebook, Twitter and Mail to a bigger elapsed time. If you can do it manually even better for the phone.
Excuse me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the Battery Use screen show only what's using the percent of the battery out of 100% for however long it's been unplugged?
So, in essence, if you unplugged it an hour ago, and haven't done anything except turn on the screen, and let it sit idle and standby, then it would show a higher percentage used by Android because the 100% is divided among the only things that have run since it was unplugged.
Right now, mine is as follows:
Android System 27%
Cell Standby 23%
Bluetooth 23%
Phone Idle 18%
Display 9%
Total: 100% of the 23% total battery charge that I have USED today. Battery charge is currently at 77%)
Do you think the radio part in last OTA 2.3.3 consumes more battery?
I see the battery information consumption much higher in "Phone".

Well, I'm using ARHD 5.1.3 (based on the official HTC's GB ROM) with radio 12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2 and can say that battery consumtion is siginificantly better than with the Froyo. It's normal when you have less consumption from the phone as a whole to have a higher percentage on the parts that require the same amount of energy. In fact you can optimize the radio software only to a certain amount - it still has to emmit energy as specified by the standards (GSM, UMTS, WiFi) and it still has the same losses in the receivers' amplifiers.
Ok, you are right, but if i compare the battery drain in this rom, i can say that is faster then stock froyo 2.2.1 imho...
I'm so happy someone else noticed it too! I'm having bad battery issues with this update. Took it from charger this morning and currently having 42%. I've done nothing fancy, installed few programs and browsed web. The percentage is going down like crazy
Not a lot of good to you, but I recently switched to LeeDroid's custom Kernel, the difference is night and day. Worth a look.

completely agree with this. just amazing!
I noticed something strange with the signal levels when using GSM/WCDMA Auto-mode. While on 3G it only had like 1 bar and went straight to GPRS, then suddenly lost GPRS-signal to 0 bars and phone changed it to full 3G mode. It bounced like crazy. I forced it to GSM-mode and surprise, my battery life tripled.
I made a hard reset last night and let my battery die two times, lets see how it goes.

Yes you will get much better battery life as the constant trying to locate best signal in WCDMA preferred mode is a big battery drain. Downside is you reduce data speeds.
I wasn't sure if your surprise was genuine or in mock obviousness so have tried to word this carefully.

the reason while in gsm mode you had a longer lasting battery is because 2G (GSM/GPRS/EDGE) Takes a lot less power than umts/hspa/hspa+ to function; this is regardless of what device from whichever vendor/manufacturer you're using.
if you're still having issues, use the fast wipe rom to completely wipe your phone, then run the RUU (root it with gingerbreak)

It was genuine cos I didn't have same amount of battery drain with Froyo. I always use it in Auto-mode, and with Gingerbread it's awful. I should have mention this in my post, sorry. But the point is, the signal levels went crazy and battery went down. Froyo was almost perfect what comes to this. My battery last 9 hours yesterday, where Froyo 1½ days.
Maybe I should navigate myself to the dev-section and see other solutions.
For some alien reason after upgrading to 2.3.3 , my battery is doubled, if not tripled. Maybe im just lucky that the new radio comes with the update is more suitable with my carrier in my country. I'm now on 3G, autosync , 23 hours after charge and still at 53% , medium use with calling, sms , taking photos and capturing some videos. Before the update my battery dies after like 5-6 hours with 3G and auto sync on. I'm a happy man right now
Ehi guys do you made a factory reset after ota?
I cant see better battery life after two days....
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
Update to my issue. Seems that hard reset did the magic. I now have 81% of battery, took this off the charger 9 oclock this morning. It's still on Auto-mode like it should be. Maybe it was a cell tower fault or a battery calibration problem.

also having problems after the update: the situation is this - if I keep wifi on and do not touch the phone, after ~8 hours (during night) I have only 66% battery left and battery use stats says that "Dialer" ate most of the battery. Did not notice this before in batt stats
I did a factory reset on my dhd after ota and also format the sd card, because i had always "Telephone" (dialer) voice on battery stats with high % of usage.
Btw, when my dhd was inactive on desk for 5 6 hours, with froyo 2.2.1 (1.72) the voices in battery stats were phone inactive, standy by ecc ecc, now before the format, the first voice was always "Telephone".
Now i wait for next recharge.

Loving this update even more. Yesterday installed update and usually my phone would drain 3-5% each hour not in use but today. My phone was stuck at 98% when I came back from 2 1/2hr meeting, I was amazed.
Also noticed the startup sound is now muted when in silent. It wasn't a big deal before but nice change.
Camera appears to be a little more snappier as well .
Verizon did really good with this update. Droid Turbo is really turning into perfect phone imo. Now we await Lollipop.

CDMA is a fallback if you lose LTE. Sounds like tower trouble in your area.
I had full 4G here before update...after I get this! If I turn off WiFi..I basically can't use my phone! BTW I just did a factory reset and cleared cache..
It sounds like you are having tower issues in your area.
i noticed before the patch when i took my phone off charger it would drop to 99% battery right away, now it actually takes a bit before it drops.
this seemed to be a legit patch for little bug fixes.
The battery seems a little better for me too.

what doesnt seem right? that looks normal if u want to look at your screen on time tap on the screen line and it will give u how long the screen was on in between charges.
So 1 hr and 20 min left on battery seems right with a 20% usage for cell standby?

Battery drain isn't linear and drain slows as you get further into the battery.
Were you expecting it to stay at 100% for 15 hours or something?
Maybe I am not understanding what the screen is telling me 100%. I took it to mean that there is only approx 1 hr and 20 min left on the battery? Is that not correct?
With regards to the cell standby and other things using the battery, my assumption was that 20% battery usage by the cell standby was rather high. In searching online, I have seen people post that it should be around 11%. Is this not accurate?
Thank you for the help!
it means you've been off the charger for 1hr and 20 minutes and used 5% battery. As to standby time it's hard for me to say as I haven't updated and heard it's gotten better.
I have just bought Xperia Z3 Compact 6 - 7 days ago.
Battery time was more than perfect.
BUT my phone asked me to install 23.0.1.A.5.77 Update.
After update, battery life is very very bad now.
I did a factory reset, but nothing has changed.
Still the same update. Still terrible battery time.
Thanks
You didn't ask a question so I presume you'd like to revert this update...?
If so, grab FlashTool, install its drivers, and find an FTF of an older update, then flash it. It does not void your warranty and it does not harm your device.
Same problem here, specially when the screen is off.
Something is draining 15% of the juice per night.
- Stamina Mode on
- 3g on
- Whatsapp, Pushbullet and Timely in the "exclusion list"
I had similar issues. Also with tap2wake.
Solution: Reverted back to .98 with flashtool. Now its awesome again.

I too am having terriblr battery drain after updating to 23.0.1.A.5.77, I've tried everything; Factory Reset, Flashing back to previous builds. All to no avail.
I've installed Gsam Battery monitor and it tells me that 'Android System' is constantly draining and is at the top of the list.......
I really dont know what to do.
haven't noticed anything different really after the update. the battery life seems the same
I noticed battery drains on my Z3 after the .77 update so I did a clean reflash and after letting it settle in for a few days the battery is back to performing awesomely
I heard such battery issues and still went ahead to see does it really hungers your phone so did the update and I hardly notice any unusual battery drain.
My screen shows 45-61% battery usage and rest all fine. Dont know how to reduce that but its ok.
I get 2 1/2 days battery easily without any stamina mode activated so I guess it pretty awesome. :fingers-crossed::good:
Hi, I did not find a battery drain on my z3c but did find out something on my prev. phone, the z2, my phone went battery hungry after flashing update so I gave it 2 days to settle. The drain kept, driving me nuts. I than did a full wipe didnt help. After formating the sdcard away was the battery drain! Probably some corrupted file or sector on the SD kept the phone draining the batt.
Also seen on other phones that some malfunctioning simcard could disrupt the stability and power usage. Some operators use cheap cards that can just die on there own.

So I read that updating the push notification app in the Samsung app store is supposed to improve the battery performance of the S6 and Edge. I am glad to report, at least from my experience it has DRASTICALLY improved battery performance!!! I took my phone off the charger at 3pm EST time today at 100%. I'm at about 1.3 - 2% an hour right now. Not using it heavily but not letting it sit straight through. Going to let it sit tonight and see what the drain is at.
GPS, Bluetooth, Wifi, Gmail Sync, and weather all on.

It's a push service for Samsung apps like s-planner, chat-on etc. I don't use any of Samsung apps so have disable it.
My phone was on 100% before I want to sleep, woke up 7 hours later and it was showing 97%. This was with WiFi off and mobile data and sync on.
I got an update this morning (around 240MB, not sure if same as OP) mentioning photo editor improvements and some other things but I'm finding that my battery life has improved quite a bit. Not sure what Samsung have done but so far I've been 12hrs 40m on battery with wifi, mobile data, NFC, BT, location, sync all on, and screen on (auto-brightness/100%) for 3hrs and still have 45% battery left. Bloody fantastic! Was struggling to get that kind of performance from my G2!

Here you go... (Edit; Fingerprint unlock seems quicker too!)
Yeah, I noticed my battery is much better as well from that update. That's good to know we don't have to wait for a carrier approved software update to get help on this.

No difference here. Biggest change I've seen is disabling VoLTE.
