My Aria seems to be bogging down / lagging and im thinking its cuz i dont have enough free memory.
Whats the best way to uninstall factory apps from memory so i can reinstall them to my sd card from the market?

Titanium backup works good to removing apps.

Okay so after I restore my apps and then reboot I play around for like 5 minutes then it randomly freezes and every app I click on it forcecloses and I gotta reboot and it happens over and over! Why?

But it always does it that's one of the reasons I rarely have cm7/miui as a daily driver.

It's really an annoying problem. I had to odin back to froyo.

I know its cm7 because my g1 had almost as many apps and never did this and it had 255 apps

I've only experienced this at random if I restore app data. Not sayings its the cause but it was the common thread for me.

Alanrocks: after you restore you apps and data (make sure your "acceptable" system data isn't being restored from a Samsung rom, like wifi/bookmarks/etc), boot into recovery mode, wipe dalvik and cache partition, and then try doing a fix permissions.

also if the backup part of google doesnt finish all the way in the very begining process of starting cm7 then any and all apps will fc. U know the part where u touch the droid and sign into google and etc.etc...if it doesnt finish signing into google server then it will do that, i found this out the hard way as i couldnt figure my fc's out and that was my prob. I thought it had finished, lol
good luck with ur prob.
My idea is to odin back to stock and reflash cm7! wipe data wipe dalvik etc
Okay thanks just restored and unchecked the Google backup will reboot into recovery to wipe dalvik and fix perm.

Alanrocks: make sure you aren't restoring voodoo control data either.
Lol you guys.
The problem you are experienced is caused by the /datadata folder being full. Apps are trying to save/change settings as you run them but since it's full, they can't write to it and force close. To fix this problem, go in the folder and find out what app or a few apps are taking the most space and delete them. Your problem will be solved.

the vibrant's original partition scheme essentially change /datadata to /dbdata. but we're not using that. and that has nothing to do with storage.
Ooops mis understood.
Okay gotcha but i think fixing the permissions fixed it as i havent had any issues since last night

Yeah, whenever I do a complete restore using TB on a new rom, I clear dalvik, cache, and fix permissions to try an eliminate any problem spots.

I think I have to delete some apps.
I just deleted the /datadata folder and rebooted. Cleared dalvik and fixed permissions . Went back to the /datadata folder and there was only 6 mb free of 178
And you're wring because if I delete a folder of an installed app.
I reboot the phone and the folder automatically comes back.
Yes you get more memory when you delete but as soon as you reboot everything comes back.
I've been having this happen to me so often and it has been driving me nuts. Is there anyway to increases the space in /datadata? I have 5 gbs free, so I hate that it says it's almost out of room.

I'm on CM7.1
I have a bunch of apps from the Amazon FAOTD and there are 7 of them that keep trying to attach to the Android Market. I have used TitaniumBackup to detach them but they keep reattaching and trying to update. No big deal really, but they try to update 2-3 times a day and then sit in the my apps section to be updated. I have tried all of the obvious steps... Uninstall Market / Appstore / apps... Restore clean from Amazon, restore from backups, with data, without data... Always without market links. I just don't understand... None of the other amazon apps do this and I have about 60 total, over 40 of which are currently installed. Anyone else ever have such an issue? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I've noticed this happens when doing restore from titanium. Try uninstall and then clear data on Google market. Then redownload from Amazon.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
I did try that already and it was okay for a couple days then they reattached again. :-/
I'll try again though and make sure market is completely wiped along with cache and dalvik.

Nope... Still doing it. Any other suggestions please...

Anyone have this issue? Anyone have a cache cleaner that works?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using XDA
Have you tried cachemate
Would it really matter with the huge amount of ram in the phone? Why do you need to use it at all?
Genuinely curious.
I'm pretty sure you have to be rooted to use a cache cleaner?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
What's the point? I haven't manually cleaned my cache on my Epic 4G CM9 since December.
Come to think of it, I haven't used that since my og Evo so I can't recall if it clears cache in the storage or active ram stuff...either way it's not really essential anymore imo.
All this app does is clear the cache saved for apps. So.if u care about saving 10-15 mb every week, its really not needed.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using XDA
When I clear my cache and dalvik and reboot and get the "Android is updating " notification... It says I have like 315 apps, and that seems extremely high because I barely have anything other than a handful of apps.
I'm running the FreeGS4 rom, and other that 10 apps it is bare bones
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda premium
you have to remember that absolutly everything on your phone is an app or in some way has an app attached to it. granted 315 is excessive but im wondering if something isnt mabey a lil off and its picking up on all apks in the phone (just a guess) have you tried any other roms to see if it does it?
Happened to me. Might be a issue with the recovery not wiping it correctly.
It goes through every app, including system apps, and rebuilds the cache. It's normal.
