When i looked through the system dump the faceunlock.apk was there so i would assume you can access it. should be in settings under security and i believe you have to have a pin set up before you can use face unlock

You would assume wrong. I refer you to the lmgtfy link; pretty much the first post has confirmation that even though the apk is there, it won't do anything, and nor has copying it over from another device worked. Asus has disabled it for whatever reason.

Given that they apparently haven't come up with a workaround for the Prime yet, I rather doubt it...

That seems more likely, but until somebody tries it, we don't know if Asus disabled it for a good reason.
Maybe it's relevant to the issue, but I have a Nexus S on stock ICS, and the Face Unlock feature isn't available as well.
Maybe it's only available to the Galaxy Nexus as of right now.
I have it on my Galaxy Nexus and it is kind of fun to show off but not that great unless you are always sitting in a well lit area. Not worried about it at all.
I just flashed the diet rom which is based on a bell rogers build but modded for our phone. then synced my account online, after that dropbox sent me an email confirming my extra 50gb is this just me or anyone else have thisif not feel free to tru what i did and got it, even if i wasnt trying to

Does anyone know what the app checks to verify the device? I'm wondering if I can just edit the build.prop to match the Canadian version and get the bonus because I'm trying (key word:trying) to wait for a way to reset the flash counter before making the jump to a custom ROM.

Update to the latest!
I think the dev of that rom needs to make some changes because from what I have read that is illegal here on xda but you guys enjoy it!
it's technically not the ROM, it's the drop box apk.that is included with it.

True, but when the HTC One X came out and had the same deal someone uploaded the included modified .apk so anyone could dl and get the 50gb. It was promptly banned/thread closed and dropbox reverted everyone who tried it back to their default storage. So I do think it's illegal per xda rules (and dropbox of course). I can't fault you for finding it out on accident though Hopefully the ROM creator will fix things before they get in trouble.
Got it too! Awesome
I got it a few days ago.. I couldn't figure why.. =D Now i know!
Does Adobe Photoshop Touch work on Nexus 7?
plus 1 it would be sweet to have that app
You have to sideload the apk. I haven't yet found a way to legally obtain it. Maybe buy it on a 10 inch, back up the apk, and install on the nexus. If you were to theoretically obtain the apk online, it will install. I'm going to buy it as soon as I can.
I bought it on my xyboard extracted and sideloaded it.
It works fine on the n7

sucks when these guys won't take our money!
I have a Transformer and Photoshop touch - which I backed up and sideloaded after reading this thread - it works great! Actually better than on the transformer.
I can also confirm that it works really rather well when side-loaded, happy to share the .apk if anyone's interested?
Works perfect..

Don't share the apk of Photoshop touch, its a paid app so sharing the apk is considered warez. Which is not permitted by xda.

Hi there Fellow N7100 Note II Users
Since theres no rom this thread will be in general
I'm trying to port the 4.2.1 from SGS III
About the SDS you don't need to worry I'm using a secure kernel
but if your interested in help porting you can PM me!
So whats the progress?
So far it boots to the boot screen and there it stops.
i figured out i've missed some few things so i'll be fixing those later!
Once again if your interested in help porting give your time to reply and tell me what you can do
Best Regards LSD
EDIT: attached SGS III boot.img (http://www.mediafire.com/edit/?1nc7vr5ln6uy2hk)
EDIT: attached SGNII boot.img http://www.mediafire.com/?me2emfnsn0mgqd0
Also heres 3 "unpacked boot images"
Boot_NII is obviously extracted files from our Note II
Boot_SGSIII is obviously from leaked SGS III kernel
BOOT-EXTRACTED is from My Modified NII Kernel
i'm sure i've forgotten something but yet i'm not sure must read logcat more closely !
I am in.

heres a logcat when it was booting into boot screen http://www.mediafire.com/edit/?1nc7vr5ln6uy2hk
some changes was made in samsung boot.img
but that didn't seem to make it, maybe i need a kernel which works with JellyBean 4.2?
Hmm seems like i used old kernel instead of using the modified kernel. maybe thats why it didn't boot so far .
Did any of the custom kernels needed to be modified to work under 4.2.1?
It is saying access denied, maybe upload it to pastebin or as a file?
Btw got it working by removing edit from the link

You are actually right. We won't feel much of a difference. It is too big a project. Samsung will release 4.2.2 sooner or later so there is no point. But i am idle due to summer holidays so nothing bad in challenging myself.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Yeah, but it should have at least one or two pros at least to be worthy of such an effort? Because essentially 4.2.1 on N2 is much more feature rich than S3, from what I gather. And you'd miss out on some N2 features as well.
I would like to test the rom if you are after testers when you have something working ^_^

well i modified bootclasspath but it seems to be something else that might be missing, maybe wrong permissions etc, or lack of files. can't really say now i'm trying to make it boot but seems like i've missed something in boot image or i've missed some files sadly when i used some other files it didn't go past the samsung galaxy note II splash screen. but i'll look into it. i think its kernel related, and yet i can't fix that now since i got to restore my phone so i can make my flashable zip tested. or i can but i need to take my time for that.
i neither don't know if anything have changed in 4.1>4.2 if there's something thats need to be added but i think it shouldn't be any big problem
Guys... the developer probably know there is a 4.2.2 coming. With all my respect for you, please do not repeat it again.
To the developer, keep it up! It would be very happy to test out some 4.2 a week befour everybody else!

I'll be trying to make it boot now again,
if it doesn't boot this time i'll go out and being mad when i smoke up my cigarette, after that i'll continue to try to make it boot :good:
if it was daylight i would go out each time it doesn't boot but i don't have the energy for that atm
bad news guys it seems like i have ***** up my adb (or phone) it doesn't recognize my device don't know the reason neither.
i can't do anything until i fix adb since my phone is only reliable on OS X.
Anyone else try to register their Google Edition S4 with Samsung? They were offering 50% off accessories if you do.
Check: http://www.droid-life.com/2013/06/1...e-and-receive-a-50-off-accessory-coupon-code/
When I try to register it just keeps asking me to enter my serial number and purchase date. It never actually lets me register. I was hoping to get the wireless charging back at $20 instead of $40, but that won't happen if this keeps up.

Yes sir, I have. We have a leaked engineering build that has been made to work by using some touchwiz parts, what we need is a complete dump of the whole system from an actual GE S4.. the whole lot.. radio, kernal, the whole shebang..

This leaked engineering build is not made to work with touchwiz parts. The ge s4 will have the Tw frameworkres when it releases. All the kernel, etc has been outed. The leaked 4.2.2 has no real bugs

Lol people have made full dumps. A dump doesn't equal a ROM. Please, try applying an ota for a gt-I9505g on your phone (you won't even get them in the first place I don't think). Let me know if your phone is suitable to do anything but hold down papers afterwards (until you Odin/ JTAG whatever)
Once we get partition mapping straight a full conversion would be nice though.
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda app-developers app
i think thats the point, we all want someone to upload the whole thing so devs can do the tricky stuff like partition sizes and such.
Most folks on here are not rom developers but normal folk with a fasciation for modding there phones, that all. No need to get all high and mighty about it...
Following up on the registration issue, I tried again today. The product selection has changed and now recognizes it as the Google Play Edition - but it still refuses to accept the serial number and purchase date.
I tried to enter a support chat to figure out why but was promptly told they are not yet trained to support the GPE and gave me some other number to call. I'm not sure how that is relevant to their website not letting me register it, but whatever.
