I seem to have trouble sending / receiving MMS. I'm using Go SMS as i prefer it over the stock Gingerbread app.
I noticed Go SMS hadn't had anything set for my MMS APN, and was wondering if this is what would fix my problem, as I can't seem to find the APN settings under Network in settings.
Anyone else have this trouble?
r u up to date? current version is v3.35.
If your running the cm nightlies or the new evervolv its based off of 2.3.4 so mms is still a no go. You have to use 2.3.3 which is cm7 stable(7.0-7.0.3.1)

is there any rom out there that looks cool is fast and has mms and sms working.. on most of them that i have tried i can text but i cant send and recive pictures.
Are you referring to STOCK SMS and MMS? Most, if not all of the ROMs on here have SMS working and have at least a fix for MMS (though some you'll have to use Handscent).
download a stock rom, like Ivans, instal and run APN backup, choose new rom, install rom, and usually handcent, then APN Backup, then use APN backup to restore your old APN.
You might be able to use a linked APN here, but this is how I kept MMS working from rom to rom. Just save your APN on your card and youll have it every time.
That method never works for me. Basically Ivan's and Evil Eris have worked for me for mms, but every vanilla I've ever tried doesn't except maybe with Handcent, which I don't like.
I'm pretty sure mms was working for me on ZenEXP

Incoming works, outgoing didn't for me either.
Evis Eris 3.0 SMS and MMS worked right away

I'm using White Widow 4.4 and applied "CyanogenELB-MMS-fix". MMS sending and receiving both work fine (using Handcent). Haven't tried with the default SMS client, but will...
I get a small red icon next to the image in the Messaging client. It's too small for me to guess what it indicates... Looking at the MMS in Handcent, I have the rotating-in-a-circle dots suggesting it's trying to send. It shouldn't take this long though... Safe to say it's not working or isn't going to.
Zenexp works great for me incoming and outgoing best rom or there in my opinion.

Hello all. I have an Htc evo on the boost network. Everything works well. The problem is the mms messaging. When I get an incoming mms message it goes to this website for.boost mobile called media mail. I have to log into the site to get my pictures...its really annoying. I just had an Htc hero flashed the same way and it gets true mms messages right to the phone. Is there a way to fix the boost media mail issue so that the mms messages go diregctly to my Evo?

i have evo on boost and had the same problem. what i did was use root explorer and deleated mms apk and mms odex from system/app, then download go sms from the market, copy that from data/app to system/app and my mms works perfect now. i would suggest downloading android mate from the market, use this to stop and locate the name and where the app is at on your phone before going into root explorer. ps google free root explorer. after placing go sms in your system/ app folder download handcent from market. this is going to be the mms. app that you are going to use to veiw the mms on your phone, turn off all notifications in go sms so that you don't try to open with go sms.
you may need the right apn...i sent them to my friend and it fixed his problems using apn backup/restore

I believe the MMS server is "mm.myboostmobile.com". The other poster had it as "mm.myboostmobile.sprintpcs.com" I couldn't send or receive until I changed it and it worked right away after I changed the server.
I have changed the server to http://mm.myboostmobile yada yada and still am not able to send MMS. I have received them and data is working, just need the ability to send. Any ideas?

That ROM does not have EPST capability. Are you certain you changed the MMS server?
Did you change it on that ROM or did you changed it once and then flashed to that rom? Reason I'm asking is because just because you changed it once doesn't mean it sticks after you flash a few roms or whatever.
If you want to stick with a Sense 3.5 rom and want to send MMS, the only way I've found that would work short of editing code in the Mms.apk (pretty freaking hard and takes some time) is to download GOSMS Pro (free app in the market).
Once you download that app, go to your regular messaging app settings and disable notifications on it. (if not, you'll get double notifications and that gets annoying)
After that, find this setting in GoSMS Pro...
Once you do that, scroll down and put in these settings....reboot and that's it!!
Yep, that's why I asked. It's the only way I know of also on 3.5 Sense Roms. So if you flashed that ROM the MMS server is set for Sprint NOT Boost.

Yeah is been a while since I've been on sense roms BUT last time I was on sense it was a sense 3.5 rom and it was ported over from a GSM phone so it didn't have EPST working. I don't know if that's the case NOW but the way I provided above is a sure bet with ANY rom out there for boost users!
I've heard of people using an old EPST.apk from sense 1.0 or whatever but that's a 50/50.....it never worked for me, hints the reason I'm on AOSP roms now!
Any more tips or whatever for boost...hit me up through PM!!

I am also looking for hints for boost and I have tried out a few other roms but didn't have luck installing CM7 which is the one I wanted to try. Can't remember why it wouldn't install right now though.

well, so far so good, I guess I have to use go sms for text/mms if I want to use Sense 3.5.
What are some better rom options? I like this one because most of the features work, didn't discover this until recently and HDMI isn't working but that is about it.

Correct one is http://mm.myboostmobile.com - worked for me great both ways with sense rom and gosmspro on boost mobile.
I have the same issue...
I was running Cyanogen 7 for about 8 months with now issues, everything worked flawlessly, till I flash Stock Rooted Rom 3.30.651.3-deodex-20110712-signed.zip...I just wanted to try something new, you know...well, it didn't go as planned. For some reason my phone got Verizon NAMs files or NV items somehow... or I really didn't pay attention to the ROM...but I have never used Verizon before so that was weird...so I flashed back to 4.54.651.1-deodex-20120104-signed and everything was working just fine after that except battery wasn't that stable...remember I wanted to try something new so I wanted the newest Rooted Stock Rom, so I flashed the 3.30.651.3-deodex-20110712-signed ROM again...everything worked as planned for a day and some, but today I get MSM errors...
"SMS Error
SMS Error: Message to not sent, Saved in Undelivered messages.
Please try again."
I cant get the EPST ##3282# to come up...whats up with that?...so I cant configure MMS URL to http//:mm.myboostmobile.com
Everything else is working just fine though.

Search the HD2 Android fora for 'APN Settings' and apply the settings that are appropriate for your mobile carrier. 99.9% of the time incorrect APN settings are the cause of the problem with sending and receiving MMS messages.
failing that download "gosms" from the market and try that, if it works you know the problem lies with the messenger app and not your network, i had the same issue on hyperdroid (ended up sticking with gosms after using it lol)

hey i have the same problem i have coredroid v1.6 install on my hd2 and i cant send or recieve any mms messages any of u guys have a link to a tut on how to fix this im kinda new to this
not getting go sms pro send mms for the life of me. I can sent pic/mms with the stock app and handcent but not with go sms pro (my favorite ...any suggestions. I have nexus 4 on ATT.
N4 initially couldn't send MMS with any app other than the stock app. Sounds like GoSMS hasn't been updated yet to be compatible.
I have yet to see a good sms alternative that works right with ics and up. They are all written to run on gingerbread and made "compatible" with 4.0-4.2.1. I would just use the stock mms, I use that and a custom text tones app, seems the best way to go
Really though it is frustrating. Why hasn't any developer dared to ditch gingerbread and make an sms app purely on 4.X framework? I loved gosms until I got my ics update on my vivid, afterwards it was buggy and laggy and looked like crap with no holo ui.
Anyway that's your problem. All the sms apps just suck and our stuck in the past.

So I found the fix for my own problem. Go SMS pro doesn't not import the default MMS APN info from the stock program. What worked for me- I manually updated the default AT&T APN details into go sms pro. pretty simple fix in the end. works like a charm so far.
1. on the N4, Go into settings/ mobile network/ access point names/ att wap. Record values for MMSC, MMS proxy and MMS port.
2. go into Go sms pro advanced settings/ MMS settings/ check in " fill APN manually"/ insert the previously recorded info above into the empty fields and voila...
Cool, I'll keep that in mind if I ever use it again, that's good to know

Check you APN list in settings > more. See which one you a re currently using and try a different one to see if it helps. You can also write down the settings of the APN that you are using currently and delete the APN, then manually re-add it. Sometimes that fixes the issue as well.
