1.83 issue with amex,fidelity - Atrix 4G General

Anybody else see an issue where their apps aren't refreshing after 1.83? My apps that require login information don't appear to be updating.

I am also having the same issue with the Bank Of America app. Whats odd is it seems like it's just an interface to the mobile web sight, which works fine, though it does show a pop-up that the sight does not have a trusted certificate. I've read others are having the same problem.

No images in market

When I open market I am not able to see any images
Even in description I am not able to view any thumbnails. It states no connection whereas I have 3g network and everything other works fine

Sounds like a network issue. There are times when 3g etc shows but no data is transmitted.

I assume you are on Vodafone and this is an issue. Seems like they are having issues with the images, perhaps some firewall policy has disabled the images from loading.
IF you try using WiFi, you will notice that they show up.
Airtel is not having this issue, so its isolated to the Carrier and not Google / Device.
Yeah I get this too sometimes, seems to be a carrier issue cause when I set another carrier using market enabler, it works fine...
Thought this was just me!
Had similar issues my self. Go to the market to view the stop. Shows a preview of al the pictures but sometimes (more often than not..) I can't click to view any more than the first image. I've flashed a fair few roms now, I put it down to the market being a bit buggy at the moment as some work fine.
I normally google the hell out of what im getting prior to the market to make sure its what I'm after so is not really been a issue.
You can try clearing the market cache , from the task manger

Maybe theres something wrong with my install...but that wouldnt affect just one app...so i guess it might be something with my twitter account
Tweeter fine here using tweetcaster

I had this problem when I first installed the official twitter app in CM7. The issue corrected itself though so i assume it was server related

I think twitters last update was bad. I couldn't get it to work on my dx2 or kf.

Official app worls perfectly for me.
I can't login to Twitter using any apps either, and I've tried the official one, Tweet Caster, and Twicca. I'll check my settings later and see if there's something blocking the apps.

Do you also havr CM7 flashed?
Not sure if related but my friend from the UK told me he was having the same problem trying to log in to the regular site from his PC for the past few days. But if he sends a ping request it goes through just fine.
I was having issues as well, so I just uninstalled it. Haven't tried it again since then, but maybe I will try to official app, as the last one was the gowidget twitter app.

Yes I do.
I've looked through Twitter's settings on the PC and I can't find anything that may be blocking it from allowing my Kindle Fire. All apps are listed as granted access. Also my Nexus S 4G connects to Twitter using any app just fine.
But funny enough, I now remember that when I installed Swiftkey Tablet X on my Kindle Fire, it couldn't connect to Twitter to "learn" from my Tweets. Weird...
No problems using plume but my fire is stock.

My twitter id is Rickywilson, I noticed instead of my pic and twitter info my phone shows the lead singer of the Kaiser Chiefs stuff. He is Ricky Wilson as well but his id is rickontour.
Apparently whatever cm7 uses for twitter will not use my account only his. its driving me nuts because my contact info shows his pic and tweets.
its mainly on my texts and other apps, whatever he puts up it changes my phone stuff. its all very confusing.
STILL can't use the Twitter app on CM7. What gives?
When I was using Twitter on CM7, I didn't have any problems.

I haven't been able to use the app since i flashed cm7.
First few days after flashing cm7 I was not able to sign in but one day out of the blue it worked. Still cant get other apps that use Twitter like channel caster to authenticate with Twitter, tells me either my user name or password does not match their records.

I've had CM7 for almost a month. I've uninstlled and reinstalled the app multiple times. I still get the msg "there was a error druing sign in, please try again later" or something to that effect
Has someone found a way to solve the problem with the Twitter app not working in CM7?
I haven't been able to use it, since I flashed CM7, but by looking at this thread, it seems to be a random issue; but has anyone solved this problem?

[Q] Any way to prevent Facebook app from sharing my location?

I have enabled location sharing from settings since I frequent use my phone for turn-by-turn voice directions and some pedometer-like apps to count my activity. I also like some Google Now functionality that enabling location access gives.
However, besides disabling this setting system-wide, it seems that the Facebook app always shares my location when I post status updates - and I find that extremely annoying. I scanned all app settings and could not find a way to disable location sharing from Facebook.
My question - is there anyway I can keep the system-level setting while preventing Facebook app from accessing location? I have not rooted my phone (Nexus 4) but will be willing to do so if that can help me with this problem.. Any suggestions?
Doesn't the LBE security software allow you to set permissions on a per app basis? I think you need to search for it on xda for the translated version.
Facebook doesn't share my location each update, I just checked a bunch of previous ones and they don't mention it at all.
Thanks!! LBE seems like it might do the trick... Will root my phone tomorrow morning and put lbe.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Rusty try checking in to some place once. After that it will always share your location for all posts you make. I checked in one without knowing this‚ and there is no way to undo it after.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Its under settings in the Facebook app
I don't see it under settings... Can you please elaborate? The only setting I see is for sharing location on Chat/messenger but that does not change the location sharing behavior on regular posts.
Any way‚ I rooted the phone but lbe privacy does not work with jelly beans (soft reboot on startup - several recent reviews on play store also says that).. So for now after resetting the phone I've not used the checkin feature on Facebook.. It's a bad workaround and I hope LBE fixes it's jelly bean issues soon.
Thanks again

How to access mobile yelp site without downloading Yelp app?

When I click a yelp link for a particular restaurant to check out photos and reviews it directs me to the Playstore to download the Yelp app. I just want to access the mobile yelp site. Is this possible?
Wow, even trying to access trip advisor or other sites directs me to their damn app on playstore. This is extremely annoying.
Any freaking link via Google directs me to the damn playstore if there is an app remotely connected to the site of said link. I'm about to return this phone if this isn't solved. Never had this issue with my G3.

Well moving to Firefox and installing adblockplus add on fixed this really stupid issue. The UC Browser adblocker and the Samsung Internet browsers don't work though.

I'm experiencing the exact same thing with multiple websites and this is extremely annoying. This is definitely NOT a feature. Even if it was on purpose, this is a BUG. I DO NOT want to download every app for every website that has one just to view the website. Please fix this Samsung! This is ridiculous.
edit: I'm also on T-mobile
Yeah, so far I'm not really impressed with the S7 Edge coming from my LG G3. My palm constantly touches the edge which prevents orher touch inputs. Typing is messy and too sensitive. Samsung putting the access settings menu on long press back button is idiotic. Having to have the Assistant Menu button on my screen 24/7 to counter this is annoying. Root may fix this issue but who knows. Now I have to use Firefox for all browsing to just not be redirected to the Playstore when clicking pretty much any link. Just not impressed and may return this device. Too many hindrances for a smooth experience.

Unknown App sending URL to open in Samsung Browser on Galaxy S10+

For quite some time now I'm searching for a solution for the following issue, for which so far anything I tried didn't solve it. Hoping someone here has a suggestion on how to resolve it.
Several times per day an unknown app sends an url to open in the Samsung Browser. Each time it's a different website, so blocking the site or domain doesn't work.
I cleaned cache/date, blocked background data for apps, reset everything, used dozens of malware/android security apps - none of these apps found anything suspicious - running AdGuard, tried all Samsung Browser Ad blocker, uninstalled app by app to find the causing one, but nothing solved the issue so far.
What are your thoughts?
Thank you.

Look for an app named "Mobile Installer" or "Mobile Services Manager". They install apps in the background and cause system wide 'pop-up' ads. You can use PD MDM to disable it if you cant through settings.

I looked in PD MDM for such an app but don't have one with or similar to the names you mentioned.
I noticed that the package on your screenshot is a Sprint related app. I'm sorry I didn't mention before, but I have an unlocked device on T-Mobile, without any carrier specific apps.

The unlocked firmware wouldn't have either app anyway. That does make me wonder what's causing the issues. The apps i mentioned are installed by carriers on most android devices. They make money from the ads and when someone opens an app it auto installed. I first discovered it on my S5 with stock firmware. At that time data plans were still limited and it would be downloading 100+mb apps on data even with background data disabled.
