I have successfully built an oskitchen with OS 21913 and sense 2021, using packages from oboe 1.18 translated. I am using leo 3.14 wwe as a base as well for the HD2
When I turn the phone on, it will boot and show the home screen. I have noticed two issues.
RSS reader on the home screen. It is not displaying text properly, comming up with a lot of square boxes. (Screen shot attached)
I am using RSS Hub v2.1.2.1118.01, Sensor SDK v4.2.20192423.00 and Start Icon Loader v2.5.20203822.0. Is there anything else I need to update?
Any help would be appreciated. I know these wont be an issue in os 23569, but I like to give users an option of 6.5 and 6.5.5 builds.

Fix:
For the rss reader you should correct language of the manila file (en-us is 2c89bd29_manila).
It's at line 330, you may be have this: 欢迎使用news服务.
You can also correct the line below about rss reader.
Manila file is in manila home.
I used google translate and translated to:
<trans-unit id="IDS_RSSREADER_INIT_TITLE">
<source>Welcome to the news service</source>
</trans-unit>
<trans-unit id="IDS_RSSREADER_INIT_DESCRIPTION">
<source>You can add a channel inside the menu</source>
</trans-unit>
<trans-unit id="IDS_RSSREADER_NO_UNREAD_TITLE">
<source>No unread items</source>
I have got the first issue with the start menu sorted. I rebuilt the base from scratch, but I cant seem to get the rss hub to work. It is simply displaying the squares as shown above. Any ideas?

One last precision: Be sure your file is encoded into "UCS-2 Little Endian"

See post for some information http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396910

-thanks chriscsh, because i use his some files.
I'm sorry the first version don't work weather update, but now all work
Nice i'll give it a go.
Cool theme! I have some problems though...
1. The weather icon is too large. It seems to be double the size it should be.
2. Everything seems kind of cramped. Maybe things could be spaced out a slight bit more?
3. Maybe the music icon can show the artwork and controls on the bottom of the screen (and leave everything else still on the screen)?
Besides that, it looks great! Very minimalist.
About wether icons the last time i change icons on more big. Now i make VGA version and maybe new 0.2 being .cab files and could be spaced out a slight bit more. Wait.
New version 0.12. Just the wait!!!
now need make easy .cab files (0.12 and now only for QVGA displeys)

I don't need a CAB, only the theme folder
So that's what that IE icon was for, you were adding it in the next version
New version 0.12

NOTES
=====
1. This cab will install the following
icon.dll (required for the icons to your windows directory)
Folders with my icons to your start->programs menu
2. The folders that will be installed have been given an ENGLISH name. If you have your default folders in another language, you will end up with your original ones PLUS my own folders.
===================
CUSTOMIZE YOUR FOLDERS
===================
1. Using a file explorer navigate to /windows/start menu/programs
2. Every folder (from my skin, has its own icon.lnk file. You can copy that to any folder you like to give it the same icon
3. Put that mess in a nice organized order!!!

Thanks, they are cool. looks great with the new rhodium icons.
Thanks
Excellent. These might end up in my ROM, if I can get evrything else working. Seems like nobody wants to share the Rhodium commanager, which is all I need to make more progress. Thumbs up
Here's some I put together. Not quite as nice, but effective.
Same install instuctions as Gianni86's folder icons.

Name : htc programs
Size : 150kb
Info : 3X FASTER than the original program folder

so now i need your help to change the original programs folder path to this EXE
YOU NEED TO TRY IT
installing: unzip it and copy it anywhere in your diamond and make shortcut to startmenu
Very smooth indeed. Nice one mate.
Got a question though. How do you create a shortcut in the start menu to a program like this that hasn't been installed?
look at this - Link Creator 1.3 ... it should do the job... (if u are using english rom)
Wonderful
Is there the settings.exe?
I think this is the same as something that should already be on your phone. Check in \Windows for a file called folderview.exe (it's on my Fuze and I presume it's in Diamond's as well). I've seen this in the past since the tweak to get 4 columns in the programs directory will not work for this file. What I've done n the past is set this as a soft key to make it quicker to get to.

Renaming this file to folderview.exe and cooking it in the ROM overwriting the existing file wont help?

You only can't change Buttons (Yes/No).
Check this my custom theme on attachment.
where should i copy this files, in win root?
any pics?
It was Kitchmen package, but you can install it manually.
Extract it, copy files in \amarullz_GreenBlack\files\*.* into \Windows
And change your themes in Start Menu->Settings->Today
i am also using visual kitchen, will put it in...
EDIT: well only thing i got new is scroll bar, and green selecting, can i somehow keep scrollbar and have blue selecting?
also how to get vista/win7 wait animation?

You can edit the Images. There is "listViewSelector.ManilaGreen.png" and other files ( I think you know the image will show in which area just by read the filename ). For system color, you should edit the ClassicGreen.tsk file with WinCECab Manager.
For your message box design, you can easily edit the "msgboxBorder.ManilaGreen.png", and "msgboxTitle.ManilaGreen.png".
For vista wait animation, you need to edit the dll file with reshack, try to find it, it was available in some thread..
sorry for my english
i will try "msgboxBorder.ManilaGreen.png", and "msgboxTitle.ManilaGreen.png".
but for dll, i will need to request....

This How To will show you step by step how to create a cab file.
You can cab up anything you want to put on your phone in ANY directory...
Cab Manager Program
I use and recommend WinCE Cab Manager (Get it HERE)
it has a 30 day free trial and is $99 after that...
Sure there are more out there... Feel free to Post
Getting Started
First you will need a file to cab. We will start with a basic single manila file.
i have attached one if you don't already have..
* Here you can simply add a document/picture to your my documents folder
After Installing Open WinCE Cab Manager
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Enter Name's for Company and whatever cab your making
Just Click Next..
Just Click Next Again....
And now click finish...
Now this should be what you have. Displays all info for cab file
Now we need to add the files.
From windows explorer just click and drag the files right on top of Files...
Once you do that the following dialog box pops up...
Here you can change name or attributes
Click Location tab
Here you can choose what directory to put file(s) in. you can also add a new folder
Click Ok
Now back at main screen
Here you can "Allow Uninstall"
also you can Compress
I recommend compressing for files over a meg or two
From the menu click CABINET...PROPERTIES...
Here you can change ALL properties of cab file
Click OK...
Back at the Main Screen...
All left to do is review and Save
You can also add Shortcuts and make changes to the registry...
Now to Save...Choose location and SAVE!
reserved......

Awesome, thank you!! I'd been looking at some other "how-to-cab" guides, this one seems to be as simple as can be
Looks like I've got my weekend project all lined up now
