Hi,
The browser on the arc is amazingly fast but when it comes to zooming or scrolling it's a bit laggy. I tried firefox and the scrolling is so smooth... but i prefer the default browser. I read it was something about opengl ? Why can it Be smooth like firefox ? Which one do you use ?

im using dolphin, got gesture feature, cool....
Xscope... Works perfect for me

I am using XScope.. I was using it on my X10 also
Im using the stock browser and agree that scrolling and zooming is stuttery. I use opera mini from time to time aswell. Its quick and smooth aswell but I see some phones have trouble installing it. Eg would not install on my desire or nexus s.

Another vote here for Dolphin - very good customising options.
Default browser.
Why didn't you make a kind of a poll?
I like Opera Mobile 11 a lot. I have used it as a primary browser few weeks. Few bugs but I like it because it's much smoother than the stock browser.
Opera Mobile here too.

Opera mini, its smoother than default browser, but im still looking for alternative browsers
Sent from my LT15i using XDA Premium App
Opera Mini is actually the best web browser for smartphones, because iirc, they "intercept" the web site you want to view, scale down images for less MB usage/faster loading time, then serve that website on your Opera Mini.
At least that's how it worked a year ago.
Dolphin
Very smooth
And allows to change easily the user agent
Nice design

Dolphin here too
Small and fast
Actually, Dolphin is the stock browser with a theme and gestures.
Sent from my LT15a using XDA App
Dolphin HD is much much more feature rich than the stock browser.
Just started using dolphin hd and must say its pretty good I dont often stray with browsers away from stock, but liking this a lot

Dolphin user here also, got bunch of add ons to choose from. And of course gesture is nice.

* Stock browser for full browsing
* Opera Mini when data connection is slower or in travel.
Opera Mini has also the amazing Opera Link so my bookmarks are with me for years,
And has great download ability.
So, Dolphin, Opera mini and Xcope are the ones getting most recommendations. I'd like to know which provides the highest speed? I dont care too much about zoom in/out.
I use dolphin too, but I use the dolphin mini ! it's not only fast but more user friendly on general setting~~~only that it does not have auto-full screen, but I dont care~

I might go with skyfire, it's cool sadly it can't stream audio (from radios) or video from south park studios just like I did on my old x1
Just started using Xscope, looks promising.

My quick review of the browsers after trying out all 4.
I use xScope, I find it the best overall for performance, stability, reliability and appearance. On occassion I find pages don't load properly, but this is a very rare occurence. 4.5/5: Best
I tried Dolphin, which had loads of features, was pretty and loaded pages very well. However, I found it a little slow (and less visually appealing than xScope in my opinion). I have this browser installed on my phone in case xScope runs into difficulty loading a page. 4/5: Good
I tried Opera, which was fast, but ugly (again in my opinion) and unreliable. Pages didn't load properly half the time and I would have to exit out and use a different browser to view those particular pages. This was slow and frustrating. It is possible that this has changed with updates, but my experience was less than satisfactory. 2/5: Fail
Skyfire is cool because it can play flash videos well. Otherwise, I found it slow, cluttered and ugly. 3/5: Pass
I find skyfire visually appealing and have not had any problems speedwise with it, except when my connection was poor, but thats another thing entirely. Ive used both dolphin and opera and they're both good browsers, ive never tried xscope though.

Currently using opera mini, don't necessary recommend it.

Opera mini when on 2G and dolphin when on 3G
Will try xscope and report later

What's wrong with the stock one? I find it very clean and fast! And very good at adapting pages and text.

I use Dolphin for general browsing and Opera for uploading files.

No love for Steel here?
I like the stock one lol
Tried all the others, this is the most stable one that I found.
Unfortunately this means I can't vote in the poll
I've been using Dolphin for some time now. Didn't like Skyfire and Opera did not load all pages properly. Haven't tried xscope yet.
I use the stock one and it seems pretty good.

Not being able to open my favorite blogs (eg. engadget and others) is not what I'd call "pretty good"
Lets hope this thing gets froyo-ed soon
im using opera and i dont mind it...im used to the interface (like it better then the stock) and it loads quick, i have encountered problems with page loading, but i rarely see those
X scope its the best for phones with out multi touch

I'm curious as to what browser you guys like to use. I've used Dolphin Browser HD for as long as I can remember, as I never really fancied the stock browser.
I don't really know about any of the other browsers available, so i'm looking for something new to use (and others might be too). Any suggestions?
I use the stock one for daily use, if I run into a page that insists to be viewed in mobile form then I switch to Dolphin.
I use opera mobile.

Tried it out. It runs VERY well, but nearly all of the pages I visit direct me to the mobile version of their site. Is there any way to change the user agent in opera so that I get the desktop version every time?
Thanks for the tips...I'm definitely switching from the stock browser on my Droid X!

Pretty sure there was a thread here on XDA about that. Might want to do a Google search about that. "opera mobile 11 android desktop agent" All the sites I use direct to desktop so it hasn't been a problem for me.

Thanks for the tip! Found out how to do it, and works perfectly. I couldn't find it in the settings, so I figured it wasn't built in.
+1 for Miren. Only issue I run into is embedded videos just leaving a blank spot on the page, and also opening an android_asset/webkit page in the stock browser.

I've been using Firefox 4 mobile on my phone and tab, i'll probably try opera now because anything has to be better
I using Dolphin Mini right now.
I've tried Firefox but its just too slow and too CPU intensive. It's sad because it's what I use on my MacBook Pro and would live to be able to seamlessly sync everything.

I don't know about anyone else, but the stock browser on the Fascinate is horrible compared to other Android powered phones. I'm not sure what it is, but it just runs like crap. AND NO ANIMATED GIF SUPPORT!!!! (Custom ROMs appear to not work either, it's really weird actually. Animated GIF support goes in and out)
So i use Dolphin HD mainly. Normally I prefer stock, but since switching to the Fascinate. I use anything else, BUT!
for some reason Opera Mobile won't install on CM6. Bummer.

Odd. The stock browser feels the same as my old Droid's. Not much of a difference.
Back to the topic: I use the stock browser. It fills my needs perfectly. I'll try out Dolphin HD and Opera to see how they are.
I just tried dolphin mini again last night. After about an hour of use I saw no clear cut advantage over stock (for how I use it).
I don't use gestures and don't open multiple tabs on my phone. My web use is mostly simple lookups. My serious web use I do on my desktop computer. Almost every thing I do on my phone is app based. So the stock browser suits me fine and is as fast or faster as both dolphin HD and mini.

I've always preferred xscope over stock and dolphin. Will try opera
+1 Miren
No flash
Images on wifi only
*All those default rss feeds disabled..
I have tried many web browsers out there but I always find myself coming back to stock web browser. I think its the best combination of speed and ui for web enabled sites. I also like its simplicity.
What do you guys think?

I don't think he's not talking about Opera Mini, but Opera Mobile, which recently released version 11 for Android with Flash support. It's ridiculously good and the performance is wildly superior to the stock browser.
The Stock Browser is unusable on some sites like WMPowerUser where if a blog entry has 20+ comments the scrolling is so terrible it's like 0.5 Frames per second. Opera doesn't have this issue (the Eclair browser didn't have this issue, I'm not sure what happened...).
With Opera Mobile being as good as it is I really have no idea who'd wanna use Mini, unless they only have a 200MB data plan.
My only complaint about Opera Mobile is the RAM size. It seriously can go up to 90+ MB somewhat quickly/easily and there is no exit option in the application...
I feel the stock browser is the best too..opera mini is good for having a slow connection
Opera Mobile 11 > All other Browsers
XScope pro is the best out there for me.

I too was also ways going back to the stock browser until Oprah mobile finally updated to 11. made browsing such a better experience and opera link is very convinient seeing as I use opera on desktop also.
I use skyfire. It's nice and quick and I used to be able to watch Jersey Shore but the season ended already. :'(
skyfire is good when watching videos, but for me it has the most ugliest UI.

Do you guys know any browsers with Inverted Color option (just like the option we find on CM7 stock Browser)?
Thank you
Opera 11 is simply the best hands down. I used to hate it... because of the mobile view. But it has transformed into a full browser like its pc counterpart. It feels so smooth. It takes advantage of our hardware much better than any other browser. Even flash intensive sites are smooth as silk.
Okay enough from this new opera fanboy. Just my 2 cents. I actually started using it today and im in love.

Well, Chrome lags. Dont know if its a hardware fault (i seriously doubt it) or just the browser's fault, but it just lags. Even the default browser on my HTC Sensation feels a lot more smoother.
Is there any other good browser which doesnt lags?
I believe Dolphin browser is a popular alternative.
Firefox, Opera, Opera Mini
You can't go wrong with the major ones
But Dolphin is also good.
Quite a few, all up to you

I am using Boat Browser. It supports flash and has nice themes.
I use smooth Rom which upon install with aroma asks what browser you want to install. I chose the stock android browser because I chrome is pretty laggy and it works a charm xD. You don't get all the functionality of chrome, but it adds up to be a much more pleasant experience.

Most important to me in a browser is text reflow.
I don't get that on my note with dolphin so i use Opera mobile & Maxthon mobile (by far the fastest browser I've ever found) both give Reflow on my note.
*Maxthon is a good simple browser with some well thought out settings options & one touch full screen button.
Dolphin is trying to be everything while neglecting its basic purpose in my opinion.
I have been using stock browser alot but now shifted to mozilla and chrome..any other members using any browsers on android that works smooth, fast and also looks great on note 2's big screen?

mufaddalezzi: you don't need to worry about websites yet, I have yet to hear about a virus entering an Android phone through an infected page/ad.
and for apps you should now have bouncer installed(part of the Google services framework, shows as "verify and install") which works with any browser.
I use opera mobile classic for now, until opera fixes all the crashes, oops cats, and slow animations in opera 15.
Chrome. And Firefox! Chrome because it look pretty much like pc version. And firefox because of flash support for my XTZ
Well I used lookout, mcafee and kaspersky and all detected some pages with malware and viruses and this happend in only on stock browser..I even tried to test same malware/virus page on other browsers and non of them were able to detect anything..so just thought playing safer side

uc browser hd, opera mobile classic and stock samsung browser
My 2 cents on all browsers on the market now.
Next browser : Their swype gestures and in UI in general is a pleasure to use, highly unstable though and seems like an unfinished product, until stability reaches a good level i can't recommend it
Chrome : The laggiest piece of crap in the market, can't recommend it at all
Chrome beta : much smoother but falls short in comparison with other browsers
Stock browser : The smoothest of the bunch, yet has the worst way to go from a tab to another, just feels dated
Opera : Didn't have a long experience with it, but it wasn't as fast or as smooth as opera so its just okay to me
Dolphin : Really smooth and really fast and has the best way to change tabs which is just natural and normal, my favorite choice, has support for flash, the problem with it that it forces you to watch links inside it instead of opening separated apps for the links, yet i can bear with that in return for the smoothness and the convenient tab switching
Dolphin because I can use Lastpass with it and Chrome because it syncs with my laptop and tab

Boat Browser opens big sites faster than any of 'em. Do your own testing, I have. You'll see. Turns Dolphin into a tortoise.
The new 'Next' browser...in beta, might beat em all tho.
