[Q]Playstation Pocket Glitchy - Xperia Play General

Hi,
I was messing around with titanium backup and deleting a lot of stuff I didn't want.
Today I tried to check the settings and search for games using the playstation pocket and every time I clicked the search or settings I would briefly see the menu or market before it would bring me back to the homepage of playstation pocket.
Did I accidentally delete something that pspocket needed? or is something else wrong?
Thanks,
Wayne

Most likely, yes.

Problem with App Drawers

Hi, I've developed a problem with my app drawers. For the last two days, every time I try to add an app to my app drawers, it makes the app drawers FC every time I tap on them. The FCs won't stop until I uninstall whatever app I was trying to add to the drawer. Once I delete the app the drawers start functioning normally again. Its not a huge issue, I can always hit the apps button to access my stuff, but I've kinda gotten used to using the drawers as a shortcut. Since I've started goofing around with it, I've noticed the few times it will actually let me add an app to the drawer, it stacks the icon on top of another and I have to delete both apps from the drawer to get it to work. Anybody run into the issue before? I searched the forums, but didn't really turn up anything, so any help would e greatly appreciated.
Edit: I just tried removing all the apps from my Games drawer(since that was the one that originally started messing up)then I restarted. After that I was able to add back all my apps along with a few new ones with no problem whatsoever. I'm not sure if what I did fixed it, or if it somehow magically fixed itself, but either way, its working again. So if anyone else has this problem, you may want to try what I did, and see if that works.

Security -> Screen Security -> Owner Information (Crashes)

Just picked up my Galaxy S3 today on the Sprint network. I'm trying to change the owner information displayed on my lock screen. Whenever I launch the Owner Information section under the settings/security menu, the phone goes to a black screen and then comes back stating "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped."
Has anyone else noticed or experienced this, or can you replicate the issue?
Thanks.

I've got the same problem. No Idea what could help. Did you find anything out?
Nope, mine works fine
Same problem. The last time I had the same problem with language and input and I noticed it happened because I had disabled s voice. This time I don't know what is causing the issue. Some app might be coming in the way. I have avast anti theft installed so that may be causing the problem. Not sure.
Which carrier do you have? I have Sprint, and my owner information works fine.
Unlocked international version.
I finally made a factory reset and then selected NOT to restore from my Google account. Then it worked fine. I only had to do the settings again. The user apps I could restore with Titanium Backup.
Everything OK now.
I don't wanna reset my phone. There has got to be another way.
So strange that something like owner info would crash. I've reset my phone 3 times in a week and had no problems with it.

Interesting...glad you worked it out but in contrast, I always restore from Google and my owner info works fine. But stranger things have happened. I lost copy/paste after rooting, ended up flashing the stock AT&T rom that's rooted and deodexed and all has been well ever since. Go figure
I think there's a bug (either by Samsung or by Google) when restoring from the Google account. When I select to restore from the Google Account my S3 takes the data from my tablet and I suppose that it cannot handle the information I stored in the owner information of the tablet.
I am pretty sure, all of us who are having this problem have something in common. Some app in all probability cause it does not seem to be a very common problem.
I have the following apps: Ad Network Detector

Spot any common apps apart from the pre-installed apps?

[Q] What is the list of apps that is dl'd when using Google's Automatic Restore?

I remember once running across a way to see which apps are backed up on my google account (and which ones would be restored on a new device setup) and being able to manage that.
But I can't find that anywhere anymore.
When I flash a new rom, Google is downloading some apps that I no longer use and would like a way to manage that list.
Does anyone know it?

On the Play Store, press menu and go to My apps -> All. You can press and hold an app to enter a selection mode so you don't have to press each 'X' individually. I wish there was a launcher that would automatically remove these entries when you uninstall an app. I know you can get Titanium Backup to do it, but that's a pain going into an app to uninstall another app.

Please help: Chrome stopped working

Hi guys... stupid me... I was playing around with Titaniuum Backup and read about the recommended job to integrate update into the ROM in order to free up space. Good idea, i thought.
So, I pressed it and was toasted successfully. Tried to start chrome again and was told that an error occurred and I have to delete chrome first. Well. I wondered as it is a system app. Never mind. Titanium backup pro solves the problem I thought. Deleted Chrome, restarted and installed it.
If now I want to start Chrome, it closes itself and gives a toast that "Chrome stopped working". I can press report or ok. The most interesting part is, that this toast appears 2 times. So, I guess that the process starts 2 times and produces a conflict.
Any idea?

Hmmm.... try the 'Undo sys integration' option in Titanium Backup n see whether it works. Tell us what happens next.

Try clearing data and defaults of Chrome in "system settings - apps" and then long pressing Chrome and turning it to a system app in TB.

Hello, "undo sys integration" lets me know that there is nothing to undo. So, I can not execute this process.
@yuzgen: Chrome is still a system app and so, I can not make it one ( as it is already)

But you put "Deleted Chrome, restarted and installed it." in your first post. So now it must be a user app?
Try this!

1. Make sure chrome is closed.
2. Go to the app settings and remove all data from chrome.
3. Go into /data/data/ (with a root explorer) and remove any directory with chrome (probably: com.android.chrome),
4. Then remove chrome from your device.
5. Restart the device after that reinstall chrome from the play store.

Uninstalling Google Chrome

I wasnt entirely sure of where exactly i should put this, the dev board would probably be a better choice, but i digress.
Uninstalling the Chrome app through Titanium Backup(and im sure through any other method) causes some apps such as kik messenger and snapchat to be ENTIRELY unusable. They will instantly crash upon opening conversations. I am unsure as to why this happens but i figured it would be useful information for someone else eventually.
EDIT: Doing this also causes battery to go from 100% to 0 in about four hours
Can I ask why uninstall chrome then? Just don't use it or hide it from your app drawer. A lot easier than trying to figure out the issues caused by removing it. It would be the same thing

Well i just didnt want it on my system and i didnt know about the issue beforehand and ive never seen that happen before. Figuring it out actually happened because i thought it was caused by something else after i flashed stock and fixed it.
You need to enable Android/Google WebView (I can't remember the name) in the app settings/play store and go into the developer settings and set the WebView to the new one you enabled. I sadly learned this the hard way like you.

That's weird. Is it greyed out in the play store too or just in settings? If it is try going into Titanium Backup and unfreeze(?) it there. If that doesn't work uninstall it like you did with chrome and download it from the play store.

Huh it was low level frozen on the system, defrost through titanium backup doesn't seem to do anything which now raises the question: how and why is that done?
Gonna try uninstalling it and installing through play again.

Play store said Enable(the button was seemingly unresponsive until i clicked it abt 15 times in a row) clicking it causes a 44mb download then it says install which causes a 44mb download and changes it back to a completely unresponsive enable. switching over to settings now only shows a greyed out uninstall and force stop
You're free to do what you want of course, but ripping one of the central tie points out a Google phone is not what I wold call a good idea. Easy to run a different browser if that's your preference without destroying the integrity of the base software.

Before finding this problem it was unknown to me and im sure several others that chrome was an integral part of the rom.The point of this thread was really to find out what this is and if there is a way around it. its for experimentation purposes as it is honestly incredibly easy to fix, ive done it 4 times.
Not sure why you're having trouble. I uninstalled Chrome with Titanium Backup and after rebooting AOSP WebView was unfrozen and active automatically.

You can try to follow such steps:
Open Task Manager. Find Google Chrome in it.
Click on Chrome and look through the pull-down menu. Verify that all the processes are chosen.
Right-click on Google Chrome and choose the option “End Task”.
Check the “Processes tab" and make sure that there are no leftover processes. If there are any, you need to stop them by right-clicking on them and choosing the option “End task”.
Close Task Manager.
Open a “Run window”. To do this, you need to press “Windows Key+R”.
You need to type here “appwiz.cpl” and press Enter. You’ll open “Program and Features”.
Here, you need to scroll down the list and choose Google Chrome.
Right-click on it and press “Uninstall”.
Also, you can check this link rocketfiles.comto read more options
