Mods, can you please close this thread...
AT&T uncapped our upload speeds and that's about it. We still don't have GB or 1080p recording like they promised. As far as developement goes the Atrix is pretty much dead. The developement section looks just like it did in febuary with zero new roms and nothing new worth mentioning. If I new it would of been this bad I never would of bought this pos. Motorola is so stupid they just don't understand why the Atrix is a bust. If they would listen to their customers they would realise nobody wants a locked down Android phone.
Sell it and STFU.

Okay first of all I am up for moddin my vibrant, adding the ffc would be awesome and would like to show it off to my iphone4 friends one more reason why the vibrant is better but i still have yet to see any prof of it actually working that's the only reason why I'm holding up on getting a camera. So my question is had anyone successfully made a phone call using it ffc or just taken a picture

Also, you probably won't be getting a FFC anytime soon... the company that everyone was ordering from raised the minimum order to 10 units (~$170), and they are currently sold out.

To give you a serious answer..no hw on vibrant for ffc and no mod can give you ffc on Samsung Vibrant. It was intentionally removed by TMO in US for reason...you figure...

Its pretty damn easy just remove the paint and replace the cam with the i9000 cam. To use it put eugene's froyo build on and add a file and you're done.
Check the dev section for detailed instructions.

Appreciate the support from the non flamers. Just wanted to start a thread to gather information for noobs like myself so they could see what ROMs and kernels make good combos. Thats all this thread's purpose. Sorry if it wasn't in the appropriate section according to those 2 people. But I thought it was a good section seeing as this is where people go to look for ROMs.

I honestly don't care if you created a useless thread. I just think it's funny how you complain about people creating threads about the same thing and then contradict yourself doing so. At least we all know why your post count is what it is. Unlike you, I'm stopping because my post count reflects actual legit topics.

I know there's a bunch of different threads of people speculating and rumoring about gingerbread, but I thought it'd be a good idea to try to make a central one. I know the chances of getting an official release are slim but if you see any news, rumors, announcements, tweets, carrier pigeons, or messages in a bottle, post them here.

I'm not so much asking as much as trying to give a place for people to go to in the future. I'm sure we're never getting official gingerbread, so this is more of a place for people to put what's up and coming, most in roms I assume. just tired of scrubbing through tons of threads when there can be 1 central idea.

Part of the reason there is a 10 post requirement is to give you the time to learn that this is exactly what you don't do in the development section.

I got a smoke signal. It said that gingerbread was coming to the epic on 4-20. Or it said gingerbread was epicly tasty at 4:20. I couldn't tell. I wasn't a very good scout.

hypothetically since typically a device gets 1 maybe 2 updates and there was a boost mobile galaxy s being released with 2.2 if it gets the standard 1 or 2 updates that would but it at 2.3 then would it not be quite simple to port it over to the epic??? i know it is a lot of ifs but a thought maybe
Cyanogenmod 7 alpha3, get it now in the dev area.....
Its based on Android 2.3.3 so I think it will curb your hunger for gingerbread...

While I hope the epic will get Cyanogen because I don't much like the idea of being dependent on Sprint and Samsung there is a leaked gingerbread rom for the Galaxy S so I think there is a possibly in the far distant future.

Nexus s is a galaxy S so no the porting won't be simple, but we all wish it was

We will never see an official Samsung gingerbread release. The closest we will get is surely cyanogen and that isn't far from us.
We wont see it officially, and if we do, it will be when this phone has 1 dev left.

Who cares. All I want from gingerbread is hardware acceleration. Not that big a deal. Im absolutely fine with midNIGHT 2.2.
