Ok so i recently stimbled upon a game called dungeon defenders and its pretty graphics heavy. Problem is when you go into a multiplayer game it lags like crazy unless you turn the graphics to minimum in which case the game looks like ****.
Im running the bionix newgen rom not overclocked or.anything, but what could i do to help speed the game up without sacraficing graphics

Try the stock rom, or try not to put the graphics resolution to full. the game still looks good if it's halfway.

You need a phone with Tegra 2 processor to run smooth. Dungeon Defenders is optimized for Tegra 2. Unreal Engine is optimized for Tegra 2 also.

yup, but the tegra 2 phones that are out now isn't really that smooth with this game. Maybe the SGS2 can handle this game very well.

In single player my game is smooth. But in multiplayer it is not. This is an issue with a lot of games out there, and it happens do to the network coding in the game and it being crappy and sucking up a ton of CPU time. A PC game from 7 years ago could play upto 150 people in a single map, but once 60 people got on everyone complained that the game played horribly and the frame rate sucked, but play with 20 people and it was nice and smooth. This has been an issue for lots of games for a long time, and was one of the primary reasons LAN parties came about, better and smoother graphics from a local 1gig lan compared to the internet and lagginess because the CPU didn't have to work as hard with the network code.
Try playing a multiplayer VIA WIFI with both people on the same WIFI and see if that makes a difference.
I'm curious if anyone ever found out if there are any ports that I could open on my router to get better connections.

I uninstalled the game because it kept freezing my phone and was laggy. Too bad too cause it seems like a fun game.

The cutscenes lag a little but, I just wanted to let you guys know. That means good things, because it was miles ahead of other PS1 games.

Is nine a little choppy too?
Very much so. It won't even play the audio on fmv's. But audio in game play is pretty solid considering how most games are choppy. Same for tactics.

Is the sound problem the emulators fault or our phones?
Like how much better can the emulator get.
All my questions ultimately lead to wanting to know how possible a PSP and Sega Dream cast / SegaSaturn/Sega Genesis emulator are.
Well the n64 emulater is on the way. When I had my g1 snes games had the sound issue. Then an update fixed it. Due to the fact that are phones are the most powerful android devices for gaming. I'm less inclined to believe its our galaxies. With this kick ass gpu and all.

If only 0.70% of your games are crashing, that's not too bad. GravitreX has never crashed on me.
Never had a game FC on my GT-I9100. I'd suggest you to stay away from "alternative" downloads and stick to the Play Store...
You can try wiping cache/dalvik.. it should fix some force closes..

Yeah just saying I've never had a force close on a single game, and I've probably played over 30 games (all from play store). Had a game freeze my phone once but that's cus I was testing it out on all max graphics. Only downloaded one game Apk which needed to be patched and everything and was like a 10 hour wait for the patch to dl (had a pong game for the meantime.....lol) and even that worked flawlessly without FC. It's probably either your rom, or what the person said above, it's the Apk's youre downloading. I've never had a problem with bad Apk's (keyboards and such), but that could very well be the issue.
I'm on I-777 though. Forgot to mention that. Should be same deal though

Your system's broken. Pretty much any game found in the Play store(say, GLoft games) is optimized for S2 and Sensation.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Well, my experience on S2 is great. Mostly all games seem to work. Though Real Football is crashing but thats probably because I hadn't wiped my phone since a long time(just updating every nightly build without wiping ).
every games works fine for me before i use custom rom. Now 2 our of 4 gameloft game that i have is having force close... Asphalt 6 and Eternal Legacy. Those game from market works fine...
Play best games from top developers like N.O.V.A 3, Modern Combat 3..etc...they never force close..
And be happy that you own a S2 because the best high quality upcoming games in future will surely support S2 because S3 has the same Mali-400 GPU. If S2 dont support it, then S3 too wont !
So S2 support is for sure for all upcoming games..!

Other than high-end games that require a lot of processing power, most games work perfectly fine.

What games are you playing on your N7?
Have you ran across any good gaming titles with issues of incompatibility? Just curious because I don't want to waste my credit on titles that don't work with the N7...
Waiting game
Im still playing the waiting game. Boohooo i wanna it now pweeeseeeeeee
order and Chaos on my a500. if ya must know ..
So far most games have run really well. Games like Fruit Ninja and Angry Birds scale well on the screen, and optimized games like Dead Trigger and Riptide GP run amazingly. A couple crashes on some more obscure games, but that's about it.

How does Max Payne Mobile and GTA 3 run?
Angry bird space
Shadow gun which I paid for with my Google play credited
Looking for more good graphic intensive games.

GTA 3 running flawless for me! Glad I purchased with me credit. I'm considering max Payne or sonic but for fps its hard to aim...anyone try using a ps3 controller with their n7?

Made a thread about Nexus 7 Gaming in the Apps section!
Just purchased the game and for my surprise it is running really bad here. Low fps and laggy as hell.
I have been researching and it seems that tegra 3 has some issues with games from gameloft.
Anyone else tried and had problems like this ? I am trying to find a solution for this but so far no luck.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
Yeah same. Used different kernels too. It's pretty much unplayable.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Forgot to say that I am using motley kernel. If the problem is with tegra maybe it possible to emulate some other api....
Well...back on looking for a solution....

The PowerVR / Adreno 2xx / Mali chips do really well with Gameloft games. I guess nVidia needs to increase their market share before Gameloft shows them any love. My phone is using the Adreno 205 chip, and plays some games better than my Tegra device(which sucks).
If i am not mistaken Chainfire had an app to emulate tegra drives on mali so we could run games like shadowgun.
Maybe the opposite could be done either ?

Heh... maybe
Let me try that ChainFire3D, and report back, because I'd like to think this was 25 cents wasted hahaha
*edit* DO NOT flash ChainFire3D. It sent my tablet into bootloops and had to restore a nandroid. Little bug with this phone won't let you go into recovery from bootloader without it being plugged in.
id say its your setup, its running very smooth here, and lag free. do you have force gpu rendering enabled in the main device settings, developer options? rasbean jelly rom with the latest trinity kernel.
Same here runs great, using paranoid android 2.17 and montley kernel 1.1.1 gpu 484.
Runs horribly for me too. Stock kernel and XenonHD,no over clock. Laggy as hell.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Runs laggy here too on rasbeanjelly stock kernal, Franco kernal seemed to have slightly better performance buts dissapointing that gameloft is having us resort to using custom roms/kernals just to get almost decent performance in there games, back on tegra 2 gameloft games were extremely smoove what happened here?

It seems to be a miss and hit scenario, some report it playable and some report unplayable. Suppose everyone has a different outlook on playable, anyway, Gameloft games aren't optimised for Tegra 3. As leelaa pointed out they only use 1 core, which is pretty annoying. Also this should be in Themes & Apps section?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus, if I helped hit thanks.
batman runs fine here..non-rooted..very mild lag sumtimes..but playable..i have complain bout asphalt 7...low gfx..terrible frame rate...

You are correct they aren't optimized yet, if they were you would see all the HD titles on the wapstore, and there's actually none on there other than the simple free games that they have, but hopefully that changes soon

Ran fine on rooted stock when I bought it a while back. Pretty graphics but it's more like watching a movie with predictive actions. After a few tries got bored and uninstalled it.
I'm on stock unrooted and it works perfectly. Very smooth.

mine lags... almost unplayable.
Could it be possible that some 'variants' of Nexus 7 runs fine?
Let s try to discover what are the settings of those who runs it smooth and copy it.
I will begin to test it here.

Hi. Yesterday finally i can make this awsome game to run on my ouya.. But i feel this game not running well. I buy the moga pro controller but the game performance is not good. How i can get better performance of this game on ouya?
Sent from my SGH-I747M using xda app-developers app
I dont think that the game has been optimized for quad core yet. Never the less I know the 720p hack helped performance out.
I've been running this game on my nexus 7, which is running the same gpu, however the ouya os is not fully tweaked, when custom kernels and roms start to flourish, there will be more game compatibility and better performance
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
You can download the Trickster Mod app from the Play store and set the governor to "performance" and it runs a lot smoother.
The game plays smooth on my Excite 7.7 and TF300. Both Tegra 3 devices.
