9 time out of 10 if someone send me a picture to my epic.. I have to download the picture and its unsucessful, almost every single time.. and its not just MY phone, because my girl has the same phone and her phone does it too. Mines is rooted, her phone is just stock.. how can we fix this problem??

This. Sprint's MMS server is not accessible over the public internet, thus you must download on 3G.
Most Sprint phones will automatically run the data transfer over 3G (without manually turning off/on wifi), not the Epic though.
That said, many of the custom ROMs resolve this issue (including Heroic, which I run).

Like the title says my mytouch 4g thinks im in denver, co when is use apps and when in browser websites also think im there. I live in washington. Has anyone experienced anything similar? What have you done to correct the issue?

I'm in Seattle, WA, but mine says I'm in Denver, CO as well. Like every time I go to craigslist, it takes me to the Denver site, same with the speedtest app. Routing problems on tmobile's end maybe?

That the exact problem im having. I called tmobile and the lady had no idea and claimed I eas the first to call on that subject. I know its a small problem but it annoys mr that I pay money and still deal with stupid stuff

It will do this until it locks in your actual location.
Do you have location set for network or GPS? It should find your relative location quicker with the network, but it is of course much more accurate with the GPS. If you have neither on....
If it is set at GPS, and you have not been using it much (or first time), it takes a while for the GPS to lock in your signals and location.
There is a good app called GPS Status which has built in AGPS updater - that one locks in pretty quick.

Thanks for the app. Works for me, but I have to keep it installed for SpeedTest to know I'm in Dallas so that's a little boo.

Same here. I'm in Seattle and my speedtest.net app reports me in Denver. Turns out, speedtest does not use GPS to locate your position. They use your IP address, which for me is a Denver, CO Tmo IP.
So how do you fix this? Don't have a clue. I called Tmo and their "Android Specialist" to me to reset the phone... seriously
They told me to do a reset which is bs whats that gonna fix? Then she told me that she found a forum on google stating there having server issues in the pac northwest. I cant find this forum

Hi I was wondering if anyone else on bell is having issues with the facebook app while using 3g. When ever I try using the facebook while on 3g and click on notifications in the app it gives me an error "Cannot retrieve notifications at this time please try again later. [Connection reset by peer]." but when I switch to wifi everything works again.
I was wondering if anyone else on bell mobility network is having the same issues. It does not seem to be a rom issue as I have tried several roms including the stock JL2 with same results.

Same here... works fine in Wi-Fi but not in 3G...

Ya thats what I meant HSDPA or 3g. Well at least I'm glad its not an issue with my phone. Guess bell is blocking something. Any idea how we go about getting them to fix this issue?

I think we should all try to call and make them aware of the problem. Chances are they will just deny it but if enough people call to complain then they might look into it. I wonder if this is an isolated problem to the SGS or android platform I hope its not as that would only make things harder for us. If you know anyone on bell thats not on SGS can you see if they also have the problem.
I'm getting the same too, I thought it had to do with a new JS3 rom I'm using. Did you guys lose the push notifications as well?

It's the Facebook app that's busted. Loads of reports on their site. Need to wait for fix or dig up older apk.

I am surprised no one has brought it up yet here. Running great on my evo! Loads everything properly, which the free app waant for me. Loads it a little faster too so far! Hopefully they release more themes. Only negative is it doesn't seem to hide the status bar.

If you use your phone's search button within the App, you can successfully search? I get immediate FC and many have the same problem.
I'm more curious about the other FCs - that others have seen as well - when doing something random like changing a page or viewing an attached image. Seems like it happens most when the app has been open for a while. Can almost expect it at times. Might have to check this premium version out, didn't even know it WAS out! Thanks.

I have never had any force closes doing anything? lucky i guess haha.
I can't help you with the search though, the rom i use has it disabled apparently.. didn't know that!

I fully agree with you with my HTC Vision running stock froyo.
Search is a 100% FC.
To avoid the other type I have always to get out the topic and exiting XDA App, before minimizing/doing something else.
Is this version solving?
I'll probably buy it just to support xda. However every single time I back out of a topic after I have been out if the app for a few mins or the next time I open it, I always get a force close. Every single time I can replicate it. I have to restart the app so it wont force close

I cant tell you... i never got these fcs... i must have a magic phone. I am flashing another rom haha. So i will tell you if search causes fc soon.
Edit: the search button does nothing at all now... lol
It's a good looking app... also Ad-free! Only available for a limited time.. so for a dollar, may as well get it while you can.
Paid XDA is still plagued with same issues as free. Back to tapatalk

I just had to call and rip sprints stuff cause my service was supposed to be fixed in october now its not till Janruary so yeah im pissed beyond belief, their looking to lose me back to T-Mobile, i mean whats the use of their TRULY unlimited data if it and ther service it comes with blows

We do have a force roam zip made up by prboy andd jadeboy but its for MikShifted-G and Supreme Sense

Well the first thing you should do is upgrade to MikShifted G v1.76. It's just a patch, so you won't lose any of your info. You can find the upgrade HERE. After you do that the MOD you want is on THIS THREAD. On that thread was also a link on how to change the PRL.
Force roam didnt work. And sprint data reset code for its msl isnt doing anything either

Do you mean ##775# ? When you say Force Roam didn't work, what exactly do you mean? Just trying to get a better grasp of what you mean.
##72786# and ##3282#, i typed it and the display showing what i typed went blank. The only way to get the touch pad to respond again was to hit the home button. And my phone did use the mod and i forced it to roaming but it still gave me a generic network error.

I am also having MMS problems. I used MikG 1.76. I switched back to x99percent Sense Stock rooted GB update 2.76.651.5. Works fine now. Maybe something having to do with MikG Rom. Mik hasn't updated it in awhile. Just released a few mods since 1.76

Not sure what your trying to do with ##72786# , as far as I know that's not a real code. ##3282# should bring up the ESPT menu, View or EDIT. Choose EDIT then enter your MSL. ##775# , is also valid. Just checked both on MikSHifted G, both codes work. Also just tried the Force Roam mod, all good. If you already updated your PRL / Profile. Try booting into recovery Wipe Dalvik, Wipe Cache, and then reboot.

I have several phones running both MikShifted G v1.76 and none have issues with MMS/SMS.
I have done a programing reset. And everything suggested except the change pro thing. Couldn't find the link. And I still got nothin. It's them not me

Both sms and mms are heavily dependant on mobile data network. If you are connected to wifi and you are in a area with poor mobile data network or you don't have a mobile data plan then a lot of times you will not be able to send/receive texts or mms. If you have a mobile data plan try turning off your wifi before sending or to check for received messages.

Ok I Reflashed the MikG 1.76 and its starting to work again. No Generic Network Failure anymore. Sent mms on WiFi within seconds. No problem at all. Maybe it is the PRL. Try Reflashing the ROM completely if PRL doesn't work.

Yeah that happened to me before in the area I use to live in. The mobile network was messed up and they kept telling me that they were working on it. But it never really seemed to improve much until I moved.
