For apps2SD you need an ext. Partition on your SD card. All apps downloaded will then automatically go to SD. The native froyo method will not work with apps that aren't compatible with moving to SD, this is why the ext method is usually favoured.

Ok thx! I was not sure that they're automaticly installed on my ext partition.

Nand and internal storage space

I love the new Nand builds of Android,I have finally settled on MDJ_FroYo_Revolution_v._2.0_NAND version which I am very happy with at the moment. My only problem I have, like many others,is storage space for apps.I think there is only about 48/50mb fre after a clean install.I think I was spoilt after coming from SD install where we had massive storage,I realise I dont need GB's of storage but i do need more as I have installed a few apps and I am down to about 4mb left.I am using app2sd as well.
Is there anyway I can create storage space on my European version?
Thanks
You should install apps2sd and install your apps to your sd card
you get it wrong tigermaster... WITH app2sd and moving apps to sd we got this prob
app2sd is still leaving data in your ram when you move something. and this little data is enough for being a prob when you dont have enough memory
I had the exact same problem. The only real soultion is to install a build that doesn't have Sense, like a Nexus build.

ahhh is that the issue? I was going to say MDJ Gingerbread on mine and I currently have 807mb internal storage w/a healthy app list but no HTC Sense.
Gingerbread
i install nand ginger i have 745 mb left after install and few apps
You guys won't have the problem with TMOUS versions, so it doesn't apply.

I think a NAND kitchen (is there such a thing?) would help a lot, and of course, barebone android would also help. Can anyone verify if this is possible? And what's the smallest android ROM out there?? I think it would help a lot of chefs could list how much free space is left.
+1 I am also looking for a bare bones Android ROM I can work from, hopefully a few fully working gingerNANDs will be around soon.

[Q] Need help - legend

My legend is running on CM 6.1 stable. Need help with 2 points to which i could not find a satisfactory answer.
1. Its not connecting to my Nokia Bluetooth headset (bh-105). It used to work perfectly well on the unrooted stock rom ?
2. I want extra memory for apps etc. I cant do data2ext as i have a class-2 card. I want to either move dalvik cache to sd or relocate it within internal memory which i believe also frees up space. Which one of the 2 is recommended and how to do it ?
Can someone pls help with these??

Did you try erasing the bluetooth handsfree's pairing memory? I have a Parrot BT in my car and it only has 5 device slots to pair with, once the 5 slots are full, it won't pair with any other device...

As you have class 2 SD, moving the DC would cause your phone to lagg as the data2sd.
And you'd have to be S-OFF to be able to move the internal capacity order
Thanks for the reply
So I have finally found a reason to do s-off Btw how much memory can one free by relocating internal order?
Thnx
Ashish

Thanks so much my bluetooth problem solved with this.
Now time to s-off. Any pointers on how to free up some memory after doing s-off ?

No-one has successfully rearranged the mtd partitions on the Legend yet. Try a2sd, but leave dalvik cache where it is.
Oh that sucks.
I guess then a faster sd card and data 2 ext is the only answer to memory woes.
I m not a dev. Is there a solid reason for me to do s-off then ?

Probably not, just try to avoid changing your bootloader if you can help it. Just in case.

is it true that to install the latest cm 7 gingerbread rom, I need to update the clockworkmod, and to do that I need to s-off ??

Nand internal storage problem

hi
i have installed nexushd2 froyo Nand rom, and it's runing fine. but i just got 21 mb left on the internal storage, so i can't instal any apps or update.
i have tried to use app2sd but don't help anything, and have looked at some other treads but didn't help much
Load up app2sd and then move your apps to your SD card, simple! You can also use programs like Titanium backup to move them also.
If you cant figure out how to move them there isnt much hope for you im affraid.
Alternativley you should give a ROM a go that has App2SD+ or Data2Sd but you will have to create a partition on your SD card either via CWR or via a partition software. Once this is done all your apps will automatically be moved to SD when using App2SD+ or if you use Data2SD your partition will actually be a aextension of your internal memory which is much better
I haved moved all my app from sd card but didnt help

Only?
Dude that is completley normal! How much internal storage do you think your device has?
Ill take it you have a EU HD2 and not a US one?
in the same boat.

I have the US T-mo version and i am having the same issue as the original poster. The issue is that apparently 200 + mb's left is not enough for me. The phone decides which ones I can move and which ones go to the internal memory. Likewise App2sd is only moving a few apps. Not all the ones I am newly downloading.
I am also experienced a recent problem. I tried to open up pictures with the 3d gallery to view photos. the program started up and then the low disk error appeared out of nowhere then the gallery shut down!?!?!? Now how does this get remedied? this is not an issue for app2sd (that i know of) or moving anything is it?
thanks in advance
Yes it is a EU version, so I have to live with that i can't install Any app?

...maybe try a different rom? The one in my sig has plenty of spaces.

[Q] New Froyo rom , does it auto put apps to SD

I have a question you know the new rom by gene poolie at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970272
I was wondering if it automatically transfers your app to the sd card or do I still need to manually adjust it

It looks like the HTC Froyo 2.2 implementation requires that you manually move your apps to the SD card. I don't see a setting to default to the SD card like they have in CM 6.1.1
thanks bud, that answers my question
An angry birds update auto installed to sd when originally it was on phone. I've manually moved others.

There are some apps that do it automatically. Angry birds is definitely one of them.

Roms that allow the use of the Internal Memories

Hello Everyone,
I have a problem with the new roms for the Huawei U8800, I can't find a rom that allows the use of the internal memory as the principal memory without the use of the SD Card :S...
The last one that let me do that was the Gingerbread version of MIUI.
Is there anyway to enable it on the Aurora ICS 4.1 ROM ?
Thanks in Advance for all the help,
Luis Da Costa
It requires editing a file called vold.fstab. search my recent posts to see what needs to be edited.
