Can someone please help clarify info on the GSM Galaxy Tab 10.1 for me?

So I'm interested in getting an unlocked Galaxy Tab 10.1 w\ GSM support, so I went out on the intertubes and searched it. I'm seeing there's a 10.1 and a 10.1v that have "GSM support" which I'd assume are quad band and will work with GSM frequencies around the world?
I'm curious if anyone knows where online or offline these can be purchased. I read that people had bought them from Vodafone UK, but going to their site it shows they're not even released yet.

3G (GSM) version of Galaxy Tab 10.1 is not yet released. It will be released in Europe in the beginning of July. Can be purchased then from Amazon.de or notebooksbilliger.de for around 600 EUR (3G, 16 GB version, no microSD slot)

Does Amazon.de deliver to the US?
What's the diff between the 10.1v and the 10.1? I remember reading that one was the thinner model, but can't remember which was which.

Because Amazon.com does not deliver to Europe either
The new one is 10.1.
The 10.1v is the old one (thicker), so don't buy this 10.1v.

Hmm, good info on 10.1 vs 10.1v.
I guess a trip to London will be in my future... just sucks they don't release these models in the US... we get hosed with the USD>EUR or USD>GBP conversion, lol

Um, 10.1V Had around an hour more battery. 3MP Camera compared to 8MP is nothing to 'lol' about either.
EDIT* The only thing better about the 10.1 is that's it lighter and thinner.

10.1v is the old model, why do you want to buy older model?
10.1v is still not officially updated to Android 3.1, and we don't know when it will get the update?
10.1v is thicker, this is personal and I like the look of the new 10.1
10.1v has 6800 mAH battery, the new one has 7000 mAH

Or you can quote specs like they mean anything @ all as far as the battery. Is it really hard to go to Google and see 10.1V has better battery?

I quoted the mAH number, that's all. Usage pattern might be different for each person, 10 hours yours might be 11 hours OR 9 hours mine
It depends on how do you use your tab, the apps/widgets that you have and the OS version (3.1 vs 3.01).
But, the mAH rate is something you can "compare".

See that? 7000 mAH versus 6860 mAH.

About the camera, the rear camera, I don't care
As I don't use rear camera on tablet anyway. I will look like an idiot making photo using that big device hehehehe. I use my phone for making photo!

Can't be mad with your nicely toned reply. But, what I am stating is the 10.1V is in all aspects= the 10.1 and having a 8MegaPixel Cam(Although im not a photo freak) and the ability right now to use a Sim card makes it superior. 3G 10.1 coming next month is not for U.S.....
10.1=10.1V I only am defending the 10.1V because the person told the guy not to buy it like it was a worse product...

Well, I am just stating facts and my opinion regarding both. I think that's clear from what you read here.
As it is my opinion, I think I am free to say that, telling anyone to not buy the older model.
I assume the OP can decide him or her self, whether to buy or not
I am not enforcing or anything. This is an open forum and I give my opinions with all my reasoning.

Odds are also, the GSM version being released in EU will not work on the US 3G bands, rather just the regular GPRS or Edge bands (except for Tmobile in some areas). ATT uses the 850 band, which is not used in EU.

Yeah it's a bummer AT&T has to be so different and difficult :-(
I travel internationally a lot, so I'd love a GSM version that works in most countries... lots easier than trying to find wifi everywhere.

Oh, I didn't say to buy one!
Just letting those that talked about US releases know that it's near.
Wifi and unlimited 4G phone tether with Sprint works fine for me...

The European 3G version will be quad band, so it will support both EU and US frequencies.
This is the specs from amazon.de.
Some speculation: The US version will use the same chip, doing otherwise would complicate things and that wouldn't make much sense. The FCC only mention the US frequencies because those are the only ones used over there.
I'm planning on getting the AT&T version, and bring it back to Europe in August.

Amazon definetely ships to iraq, especially if you have an APO. I know certain items they have restirctions on what they will ship, but I have no idea if the galaxy tab is on that.
I would just send amazon and email and ask them directly.

And how powerful do you need? Never see any lag (nor had a single freeze or crash) on my v1 LG.
Might be an idea to vote and keep an eye on the Dell Swarm though - seems to be a regular thing (4 since July) but you have to be quick to get one.

do the US bands work for you?
getting them from dell directly in the USA is cheaper than 200 pounds. (190.. hrmm.. don't have pound on my keyboard)

Doubtful. You are almost certainly on 2100MHz, which is covered by both the AT&T and T-Mobile US DVP quite nicely.
The TMOUS version also has 900MHz support, making it a better bet for world-wide use than the AT&T version.

Yes there may be a price difference but I can't imagine it will be 182 euros!
These can't be final prices (although it seems Amazon will take your money now).
Also there are already plenty of German stores with prices around 600 euros, I don't think Amazon will be so far off that price.

For the white model the price was the same but after it is changed. I buy Note II Italian product and i must attend 7 days, the price is 652 EURO.

I believe the price on Amazon will be less than 652 euros when they update the prices in the next few days. Because there are plenty of stores selling for around 600 euros, and Amazon is usually around the lowest. Probably they will update the prices before the end of tomorrow.

Most of the small online stores have been told they'll receive it this week. Amazon has more purchasing power and will not receive their stock later than the small stores. They will reduce the price closer to the release date.

UK here, we're all in the same boat brother.

Run Motorola, run faster from Google to Lenovo. Lenovo will care about European buyers. But i cannot confirm, that Motorola will be so good as now.

Some norwegian stores are taking preorders. Dustin Home has the 64GB version with delivery status for 10th November and 32GB for 20th November (this date appeared today). Some other stores list just "November" too.
Proshop.no has them from listed for 1st November, but I contacted them and they said that this date is not confirmed.

And Price is 649 and 699€?
This is killing me, beacuse there you can buy Note 4 for 630€ for 32GB version.
