I notice that under contacts, if I select a specific contact, I don't see any call logs or facebook updates. Does everyone is also similar experience or I'm alone?
I restored my contacts from my X10 to Arc don't know whether it could be a reason if I'm alone!
Wow! 88 Views and not a single reply.
Thanks for viewing at least.
I guess you're alone!

Thanks mate for the reply and I too guess so with no reply
May be I will do a factory reset and restore the contact using VCF and see whether can resolve the issue. Could have been due to the fact that I imported from X10 to Arc using Titanium backup.

I thought i'd try to see what syncing flickr does. It does nothing great, but now how can I remove this sync?
There is no option to remove, whereas everything else that is synced liked google or facebook allows me to remove the account.
Thanks.
That would've been my best advice if you hadn't already tried. I don't have a Flickr account so I wouldn't be able to replicate the issue.

The funny thing is that you don't even need an account to sync. Go into the sync section, select flickr, and you can put in whatever name you want.
Hmm alright then. I'll check it out later and see if mine does this as well. You just want to be able to delete it because it isn't doing anything right? It's not actually harming your device?

Not an answer, but I just email pics to my flickr account. Best option in my opinion.

Correct. It is not harming my device, but simply adding another line item to the list of services to sync. I would just like it to not be there anymore since I don't want to use it.

Also in my contacts group area I now get a "unknown" group from flickr that I also cannot remove because of the sync.
Had the same exact problem. Ended up doing a factory reset to get rid of it. What a PITA!

Makes sense. Finally off work so I will be able to play with it. Sounds like you all have the same deal going on. Maybe a software update will add the ability to delete since a factory reset is a drastic step.

Yea, I ran into a few issues which required a factory reset. Such simple things to code for and left missing =/
Ran into the same issue. Didn't use my phone, used someone else's that has a Flickr account.
Looks like you're going to have to wait for a software update or a dev to figure out how to solve this. Sorry I couldn't help ya out

i am also stuck with this
Having the same problem myself; guess nobody's found an answer to it yet?
I'm making this as a new post in the general section for a reason. The Gingerblur thread is too crazy and moving too fast for a question like this and I'm also not even sure that this is Gingerblur related.
The problem I'm having is with my Contact information staying synced on the phone. It seems that no matter how many times I edit a contact, particularly the contacts photo that should be supplied by FaceBook, it won't stick. I am trying to get this to work correctly but haven't found a way to do it. I would like everyones contact information in my phone to be synced with facebook and pull their photos down from facebook and link to their profiles. It appears that this OS has everything required to do that but it's just not functioning correctly. Some of my contacts have the right facebook pictures, but a lot of them have none at all. I also have duplicate entries and some other anomolies as well.
Is there a setting I'm missing?

I have this problem also. For example, Ill text someone and their picture won't show up in the text thread, even though the contact is synced with Facebook.

Yes that too. Or sometime the pics will.be there in the text thread itself but it wont be when you're looking at all the text threads. Really glitchy.

Just ran into the same issue today. The problem was that I had uninstalled "Infinite View", which is used for displaying contact's details.

Is infinity view labeled with sony ericson things?
Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
No, it's just a screen with the contact's details on one tab, and the contact's call log on another one. I'm not using the social networking stuff such as Facebook, so there may be more there that's not showing for me.
Don't freeze stuff if you don't know what it is.. it's a sure fire way to screw things up.
Hi guys,
Ive got a nexus s running ICS. The problem I have is that as I keep my contacts sync with gmail, the display picture of the contacts is very poor! some of them are so bad that its difficult to tell who he/she is.
Can anyone please help me fix this problem? I have read some forums and people have commented that this is fixed in ICS but clearly it isnt as I still have the same issue.
Thank you
Saud
There is an app called haxsync on the market. It syncs your Facebook photos to the contacts, and they look great

It's caused by syncing with Google contacts. There's nothing you can do aside from syncing with Facebook (which AFAIK, suffers the same problem).

thanks for the quick reply.
Im not really a facebook user. Are there any other alternatives? I usually get my photos from picasa. Is there anyway I can get them higher quality?

Only way is to add them in manually on a contact by contact basis via gallery.

or you can back-up them by Titanium backup, and then restore. Quality will be the same.

They really do look fantastic but contact pictures that were taken with the camera still look awful
But haxsync really does make a gigantic difference

This is true. If you manually assign contact pictures AFTER your contacts have been synced, they will stay hi res. A PITA, but it works.
an alternative is Friendcaster that has an option that allows the use of high resolution images, it is also best of the original facebook app.
Is there any alternative app for non-facebook users?
I would hope so, but afaik there isn't any.
Hi ! Someone tell me why Contact pics in ICS is so smudgy and distorted ? Miui rom had great Contact pics . Maybe like this in future ? GT-I9000 using XDA
i think it's because of the sync with your google contacts.. google resizes your contact pics

Gmail only sync a lower res of your contacts picture. If you want higher res, just sync with google+ or facebook

We have to wait for google to update their contact. If your friends are using Facebook or Google+, you can use its picture. This is not the problem with the phone, it's the problem with the server handle the sync.

Is it even possible to have a Google+ account without my contacts knowing that I have one? I want the high res pics, but I hate social networks. There are also people that I don't want to have any contact with.

Just don't add them to your circles. And if you want high res pics, manually select them for your contacts.

and even if i add Google+ most of my contacts with gmail havent signed on to get a plus ac ...
wish some dev would help us and find a fix for this (plsss) .. or google does so instead .. wasnt it better resolution in GB or Froyo ?
Er... the only trouble I see with this is that almost no one I know uses Google+.
