I Am about to receive my transformer, and inevitably my wife will want to use it too
Is there an effective way to have two gmail accounts set up on a Honeycomb tablet so you can switch users easily? I understand that both email accounts can be set up in the Gmail app, but I am more interested in all of the other GIntegration on the tablet (apps from market, calendaring, logins to other apps/accounts we both have eg twitter).
You can use both google accounts in just about everything (incl. the Market), but it doesn't have any way to handle separate users in other apps.
I have bought a Transformer that I am going to give to my wife when I have goten the sleeve.
I have tryed to optimise it and during that prosess I have purchased some applications, when I was going to buy the apps I added my own Google account (due to the fact that I thought card information got stoored along with the Google account on Android Market)
But now when I see under "My Apps" some are stored under my acount and some are stored under her account.
When I give the TF to her I will remove my account form the unit, what will then happen to the apps that are listed under my account in "My Apps"?
Thinking, will they be uninstalled, will they be transfered to her account so that she get notifications regarding updates and so on?
To keep it abit more clean I like to separate questions into different posts (Mod can merge posts if this is not accepted)
I got both my wife's and mie google account added to the TF (for the time being (see post #3)
Google Maps is a standard app that comes with the TF, on her account (in My Apps on the TF) it shows as "Installed", in my account (My Apps on the TF) it shows as "Not installed"
When trying to install it it jumps to the top of the list under "Downloading..." for a brief second before it jumpes down again under "Not installed"
Thumb Keyboard is allso listed under "Not installed" in on my account (My Apps on the TF), this one is not showing up in her "My Apps" and the same thing happens if I try to install this one as happens with the app above.
Another thing that is wierd is that some of the apps have disapared from the "My Apps" on the Transformer, but they do show on our accounts when logged inn on Android Market on the web.
On the Transformer this is showing under our "My Apps":
Wife
Installed
Flash Player 10.3
c:geo ~ geocaching for Android
Not installed
Google Maps
My account on the TF
Installed
Flash Player 10.3
Dual Battery Widget
File Manager HD (Honeycomb)
MoboPlayer
Opera Mobile Web Browser
Not installed
Google Maps
Thumb Keyboard
While if I log on to Android Market the following apps is shown when I go to My Android Market-account
Wife
My orders
ScanLife Barcode Reader
Google Maps
Music
My account
My orders
File Manager HD (Honeycomb)
Dual Battery Widget
Opera Mobile Web Browser
Waze: Community GPS navigation
CircleLauncher light
File Station Tablet
MoboPlayer Codec for ARMV7VFP3
MoboPlayer
Thumb Keyboard
I've done this on my xoom at work (So I could get my spectral souls and thumb keyboard on it). When you remove the account, the apps are NOT uninstalled its only you can't upgrade them anymore. They do not show up in the "My Apps" section, so to update you either have to re-add an account that has it purchased or purchase it with the account on the device.
Thanks for Your answer.
I will just have to check if an update is needed every now and then.
If I understand You correctly then if an app is not in the "My Apps" section (assuming we are talking about the section on Transformer itselfe) then we will not get an notification that there are new updates for that app.
Why have several of the apps I have installed disapared from the "My Apps" section? As one can see from the listing in my post above when I go tot he website version of Android Market more apps are showing there
Allso I have NVIDIA Tegra Zone installed but that dont show in "My Apps" or in the web version of the market. But I find it if I go to "Apps" in the top right and then go to [My apps] (Not to be mistaken for the "My Apps" that is located in the top right screen of Android Market when accessing it via the TF)

Hallo,
i bought yesterday a htc saphire and installed the cyanogen mod
everything works quite perfect, except that when i boot the device everytime Programs like "e-mail, Calendar, Clock, Gmail, MP3 Download" start automatically and i get an " android.process.acore don't react" error
has anybody an idea how to control this things?...
Those programs are designed to start on boot to check for changes, example "email" and "Gmail" start to check for new emails, Calander to sync your agenda and so forth. You should check the settings of each program and see if there's a way to stop them from syncing.
ok thanks
is there any way to delete these programs? i have never used "gmail" or "mp3 downloads" and i'am sure that i will never use this service....
You should be able to remove them like any other app using "Settings:Applications:Manage Applications"
I take no responsibility if removing a specific app breaks something
Not sure why anybody would want an Android phone with the Google integration though. It's the whole point of the thing, in my opinion. To each their own, I guess.
i have got a great imap email witch my own domain.. so i don't need/want gmail
but other google services like "google maps" and the "google calendar" are great...
and there's no option to delete/uninstall this apps unter "Settings:Applications:Manage Applications"..
I uploaded songs to the cloud from a laptop but they are not showing up on my xoom or Droid x what do i do?
Where are you looking?
Are you looking in the Google Music Beta app you downloaded? Do you have two music icons in app drawer (on DX)?
Make sure you've updated your Music app to the latest version from Android Market. Run the Music app and tap Menu, Settings, Google Account and select the account you uploaded your music to.
is anyone have this working in the uk? I used a proxy to apply for the invite, now I have one i can use the website but it says there is a technical helper. If I manage to get hold of the new Pp could it work then or is the outside of the us completely blocked?
I use it in EU, it works on my Xoom and also on my phone. No problems what so ever.
You have to update the Music app to version v3.0.338.
3 ways to do this.
1. Have an us IP address on the Xoom. (Gain marked access trough proxy?)
2. Use Market Access and get the update
3. Somebody uploads the latest Music APK.
Search on google for "google music beta apk"
I hope this help someone!
I recently bought the Galaxy Tab 10.1, GT-P7510 with Android 3.1. When I opened for the first time the Market app I saw few applications and in the market web site some applications like Galaxy on Fire 2 THD displayed the following message:
"This item cannot be installed in your device's country" or Device not compatible message.
This message was very weird because Puerto Rico is a USA territory and I saw this application running in a demo in a same tablet in a local BestBuy. I was really pissed and contacting Google was useless. Google told me that the app isn't available at this time in Puerto Rico, what is a complete lie because this app can be downloaded in iPhones and iPads locally. They recommended me to contact the developer because they are responsible of maintaining the apps. Anyway, I rooted the tablet and downloaded Market Enabler but it didn't work either. But I managed to fix this issue doing the following steps:
1- Removed my Google Accounts from the tablet.
2- In Settings > Applications > Running Services select All
3- Cleared data and Force stopped all Market related services like Market, Market Feedback agent and Market updater.
4- I opened Google.com in my PC's browser and created a new Google account.
5- I selected the Country to United State and leave my Zip Code in blank.
6- Saved the changes.
7- I also logged to my old Google account that I was previously using with the market. I went to account Settings and in the dashboard section clicked in View data stored with this account and then I clicked in Edit personal information and changed Country to United State and remove my Zip Code in blank.
8- I connected my tablet by WiFi to my iPhone. To do this I had to root my tablet and using ADB I was able to do these steps discussed here to enable AdHoc connections in the tablet. The reason I did this is because using my iPhone 3G connection the IP location appears is inside the US and not in Puerto Rico.
9- Added the new Google Account to the tablet.
10- Opened the Market app and was able to see those missing apps.
11- Added the old Google Account and opened the market again. I was able to choose one of the two accounts.
12- Remove the new account created.
13- Disconnected the tablet from my iPhone to connect it to my wireless router as usual.
14- And... Yes!!! I downloaded Galaxy on Fire 2 THD, paid for some useless apps and no more compatibility issues.
I hope this help other persons living in Puerto Rico.
Saludos!

I bought it in a local BestBuy, $499.99
Thanks a lot! I'm gonna try this now on my Transformer. Been having a ton of issues with it's Market. I was just using my cel tether whenever I wanted to download and update apps and force closing market and clearing market data beforehand. But with GOF2 it is forgetting the in-app payment for the unlock if I so much as turn on the game connected to anything other than my cel tether. Only fix so far has been to uninstall the game, re-install and re-download. Luckily you can copy/paste the save files.
Hopefully this method will help, the Google Profile tip should do it.
Has the fix stuck? No matter what router you hook up to?
It works for a while. If i restart the tab or the market app and its connected to my home router the market will block the applications again. Basically i have to stop the market app, clear its data and connect it to my iPhone again to make it work. Basically the trick is connecting the tab using an ISP with an IP's location in the US and not in Puerto Rico. That's why using the iPhone's internet i can see all applications in the market. A VPN connection will also do the trick.
Well, I was verifying the Market and I think that Google made some changes. Months ago I was able to see all the applications in the Market's website using my laptop and for those apps that were not supported in my country it displayed the error message. Now I can't even see those applications in the website. All applications to be purchased are now gone. So, the Market's website is now blocking apps using the IP's location. Also if I connect my tab to the iPhone i can see all the apps but if I use my router with an local ISP all those apps disappears, no matter if I delete the Market's data or not.
This is the fix that Google was stating when I contacted them for support about this issue?
Ok, I've rooted my Fire and installed the Android Market. I've installed Go Launcher, so I have the ability to use the Fire as the "Android Experience" I'm used to with other devices I have.
So what's the benefit of continuing on with installing CM7?
It seems that by installing CM7, I lose out on the Amazon services that I would still like to use. True?
One problem I had with stock roms, is Google apps. For example, I could easy enough install Android Market, Gmail, etc... But gmail would not give me notifications of new email. Maybe because I could not enable it to "sync" because the settings area is different then normal android. (Account & Sync missing)
on the stock rom we can use "any cut" from the market - in any cut select "new shortcut" -> "activity" -> "account & sync"
then you have a shortcut to account & sync on the desktop
you can try even more activities - they are nearly all there but not displayed in settings !
Another way on the stock rom is to install ICS launcher and add power widget. There you have wifi control screen brightness and sync.

You have the sync adapter correctly setup?
Can't edit or delete subscribed calendars because there's no "accounts" in settings
I have the Fire HD8 8th gen Kindle. Running stock Fire OS 6.3.0.1
I do have the Google Play Store and Services added, and running the Launcher Hijack to use the Nova Launcher. But my question is about something else.
I am running the BlackBerry Hub+ Suite for Android, or some of them - the email Inbox, Calendar, Contacts and Notes. Running those includes running the Hub+ Services app which handles all the account syncing with the apps. I'm running all these same apps on my Galaxy S9, which leads to my question about the Fire tablet.
I have several subscribed online calendars that I added on the tablet, and on the S9. They are game schedules for LSU football and baseball games that I have syncing to the calendar apps on both devices. I can add them using the subscribed calendar options within the BB Calendar app. They are then in the system and I can even include those calendar accounts in my Simple Calendar Widget app to show on the Nova Launcher home screen. The problem is that while the account can be added from the calendar app, it does not manage them afterward. Not in the way that the Inbox app manages email accounts, including EAS accounts with their own calendars.
Under normal android, there is an "Accounts" section in settings. I have this on my S9. Also on my old Kindle Fire 1st gen that I rooted and installed the SlimLP (Lollipop) Rom on. But the Fire OS has no such section in Settings. There is a "My Account" section, but that only leads you to the Amazon account settings page. There is no overall list of accounts that can be accessed in the Fire OS. So, I can't change or delete the subscribed calendar. LSU only adds each new season with a new year in the address, so you have to change the address for each new season, or in the case of the HD8, I have to add a new calendar account and just disable the view of the previous season since I can change or delete it like I can on the S9.
All this leads to question, is there an app that I can install that will give me that same access to all syncing accounts that the "Accounts" section in Settings would normally give me? I've searched Google Play store, but can't seem to find the right thing. iCalSync is close. It can create and add the same kind of subscribed calendar account, and edit or delete it later, but it can't see existing accounts created outside of that app.
Is there anything out there that can do what I'm asking?
I really don't want to root the HD8 - just yet. Maybe when I replace it, but not now.
I had the same issue. You can use ADB or download an "activity launcher" app to launch the "com.android.settings.Settings$UserAndAccountDashboardActivity" from the Settings app. When using ADB, make sure to escape the dollar sign:
Code:
adb shell am start -n 'com.android.settings/.Settings\$UserAndAccountDashboardActivity'

Well, the adb command didn't work, but the "activity launcher" suggestion did. I found the sub section of Settings that had the User Accounts, and it all showed up. I was able to delete the problem accounts.
Thanks.
Can you install the Google Contacts Sync and Calendar Sync, version is 7.1.2 in Android Version
