Hello
Whats about Gingerbread 2.4 for HD2
(the best one would be the desire S or not?)
is GB2.4 already avalible for development?
Will GB2.4 come for the HD2 any time?

Even though HTC have not released a Sense based ROM with Gingerbread 2.4 (to everyone else, yes I know he means 2.3 Gingerbread), I happen to know of a developer who is presently working on this build!
I will give you his link but you must promise not to tell anyone... OK?

Devs we need you !!! for Sense 3

Hi,
our phone gets older and older and i think we all sense lovers wants to do our hd2 a last pleasure. a good thing for the phone so we could use this phone just another year couse we all dont have money to buy a new one like sensation
what do i mean with pleasure ?? Sense 3.0 !!
We need you
imilka, dungdhp, cmylxgo, tytung and all the other great ones !!!!!
We need a dev community for sense 3.0 i think ... couse everybody is doing his own thing and that is slowing things down...
there is a gfx fix in one rom and the other got sd fix and so on ... but we need it all together
maybe this thread could be a place where we could collect all good things together and the devs could talk about the next steps in developing ...
but the main thing is ..... make teamwork ... i dont wanne see developing dying for this phone

I don't think this is necessary; you'll have to be patient.
It's always like that when a new major Android or Sense version comes out, things get very messy with everyone trying things out. With time, things get clearer, devs and good ROMS start to pop out.
Come back in two weeks or a month and I'm sure that 3.0 wil be almost ready for us.

yes ... but i thought it were good to have a place with all fixes collected you know ....
when some fix is popping out on desire forum it could be posted here so that everybody knows ... something is going on you know ?

With everyone working to get to fix bugs, glitches, mms, color banding, resolution fixes and graphics it will be better. And this devs, chefs, kernel devs are the best here.

New Drivers
i read that they are wating for a driver from htc to be released so the devs can do what they do but its going to be awhile so like most of us we just wait and not ask for any ETAs and asking to fix things cause they are wqorking on it already

you guys have a real incorrect concept of what this bootloader unlock means...
It isn't like magical rom ports are just going to fall from the sky.
We will probably still never get a sense port or a wp7 port, that is next to nearly impossible still.

The problem is that HTC havent released a sense sdk

Hahahahahha. Good luck mate. You gunna need it as it wouldn't run on our x10 as there aint enough ram. If the nexus s and the galaxy s are having trouble running 2.1 do you think the x10 could run 3.0 or 3.5. Think again. It wouldn't boot or the launcher would just keep getting killed as there wouldn't be enough ram. I have a sensation and that has 752ram some odd and that only has like 200 left foe apps so that shows what the sense is using. Nearly 500mb of ram. Its just a dream now buddy. I.think the x10 might just be able to handed 2.1 but that's still a push.

I can't understand this obsession of some people with sense,The important things is not just that it runs on X10, We already have that, The imp. thing is how well it will run, Btw I think the only one who can do this properly is J who is apparently not willing in working on it & I can clearly see why, I mean why waste your time when you can work on such a greater, more valuable achievement like CM7

yerh... back then he had what? 2 roms I think. SENSE AND ASOP and they both got scrapped for cm7

Well it is easily the most polished android skin.
It is the longest and really incorporates social networking and functionality well.
The dialer and contacts are easily best I've used.
The weather application is very precise.
Lots of eye candy if that is your thing..
Earlier sense 2.1 isn't a memory hog either like the 3d sense 3 is.

I HAVE PORTED A 2.2.1 htc ROM TO OUR E15I. I NEED PEOPLE THAT KNOW ABOUT KERNELS , LIBS AND OTHER STUFF TO GIVE ME A HAND PLEASE MAIL ME IF YOU CAN HELP ~

our measly x8 can not support sense 3.5 sorry but i am looking at either porting the aria because thatsd the closest i can find to our hardware or one ov the great roms i used to use on my old wildfire that is the wildpuzzle rom its great sexy nice and just very smooth rom but no sorry sense 3.5 is not ever going to be possible for our phones

Maan! It would be great, if you'll build fully functional Sense ROM. I've already have last Sense from racht, and it's great even the Wifi, 3G and others is not working.
I'll donate if it will be working, cuz I really love Sense. My next phone will be HTC for sure.
Can you get some closest info about your's ROM? 2.1 or 2.2? Maybe 2.3? Sense version?

i already have a HTC rom that is booting just need to get gsm FULLY working then i have to get data then vibrate then thats it it will be done ill upload the 1st test rom tonight

Possible to port sense 4 from HTC Desire VT

I was hoping someone could answer a question I have about the possibility of porting from the Desire VT. Both share the same Adreno 200 GPU and also share other similiar traits like being the same pixel size. From older posts I remember people saying it would be more easy to port from one phone to another if the GPU was the same and if the size was similiar so it wouldn't need to be resized. If this is indeed true wouldn't the Desire VT make the best choice to have a working port of sense 4 to our HD2? If anyone can shed some light on this I would greatly appreciate it. Below are some specs of the two devices. Thanks in advance.

Its not the graphics, or the pixel size. We had working acceleration, from what i have heard its Chipset drivers that are the issue so sound and other things will be impossible to port. but i dont know much on the VT to say much about porting from *that* phone

Actually this will have had the same issues in porting if not more. I am 100% sure unless we have gods for devs that can create libs from nothing

Yeah I recall that not having any libs was the issue the developers was running into. I only thought that since they share the same Adreno 200 GPU that maybe it could allow for a 'slightly' easier port. Also I seen a post here on XDA somewhere and if I remember it correctly a developer "claimed" to have sense 4.0 fully working but was to busy to post further details and said they would after their current project was over. Yes I know it seemed like b.s. but I was still holding onto a bit if hope. lol.

Team Blackouts was the only one that wound up booting, there was another working on it but couldnt boot it up, the phone i believe off the top of my head was the One V which also shares the Adreno 200 or similar specs but yea its all in the Chipset as to where we would get on sense 4.x

Yes I had followed both threads very close. Actually the HTC One V has Adreno 205. Unfortunately for us the QSD8250 Snapdragon chipset thats on the HD2 seems to not been used in quite some time. Plus the HTC Desire as well as the Nexus One, both of which are very closely related to our phone have stopped receiving updates. UHGG!! It was wishful thinking anyway.
I'll just need to cave in and try to get a HTC Desire X. Since its going to be a rather budget friendly phone it looks as though this is my best option to have sense 4. I hope they release it in the states as well though.

Thanks but I was thinking the Desire VT had its own thread. This is a link to the Desire thread with a port of the Desire VT ROM. Its actually what I came across that made me think it would be possible for our phones to work too. Then when I looked at the specs I thought it might of been our best shot at a working sense 4.0 ROM.

So if i install the desire vt zip it will work, or not?

It will not. mwakious said that they will look into it so please be patient since this can take quite a while to do. When porting a ROM there are
several files that needs to be replaced. Even then there can be many things that could cause it to not boot correctly. Check back in a few days.

im only asking 'if' as it seem'd to no update

In all honesty Its not likely it will work for our HD2 but I was thinking since the GPU was the same it might be a little easier for a developer to give it a go. Easier still suggests
its going to be a pretty big undertaking so please be patient. Even if it doesn't work out I think people should still thank mwakious for the time he's looked into it for us.
