I flashed this leaked rom (JVR) from Samfirmwares.com with ODIN with repartition over MIUI 1.7.29 - problems started after I wanted to go back. I turned the download mode on and I found out that it is active but the windows do not recognize the device (tried other devices). Once i turbned the device off it yould not be started again.
Unless I put the battery with les percentage into the device and put it on charger with power button pressed (then quickly disconnect the cable once the baterry charging animation shows up), it wont start. The same goes wirth 3e recovery.
The phone was not rooted, and it does not have CWM installed. I am without hope, Google, the greatest of all, did not offer me any kind of solution.
Is there any way how to root 2.3.4 SGS JVR without ODIN or CWM? So i could install CWM and flash CM7 or whatever else instead? THX.
You can use CF-root to root, or flash JVQ deodexed.
I don't realy understand your problem ...
I think your only other option would be super one click, but it requires windows.

The problem is, that the phone starts only when it is on charger. And when I try to enter 3e recovery it enters Force Upload by Key Pressing mode, that I dont know. THe download mode screen is ok, but the phone connects only as UNKNOWN DEVICE. I have no solution for this yet.
There is no way I could flash with odin since I have no USB connection to the phone. Bootloader is corrupted and USB does not initialize correctly.
All stock gingerbread firmwares come with new bootloaders. CM7 only supports Froyo bootloaders.
Since MIUI is based on CM7, you probably need to flash a stock Froyo with bootloaders before flashing MIUI again.
I can't flash anything
I cant flash anything. Recovery does not work and the USB connector on the device is not initialized by the device because of the bootloader is corrupted. I need to root the device with some APK so that I could install CW recovery but z4root does not work for me.

Have you tried to connect the phone with another pc?
EDIT: You need a signed zip, i think!
EDIT2: Heimdall?

Yes, I tried everything else, like another pc, other devices, other cables. The PC simply does not recognize the device. Ill have to wait until there is a new version of GingerBreak or any kind of APK based exploit. Then root the device from the inside and instal proper recovery, then flash the bootloader. Or else it will be a half-dead semi-zombie phone forever.

And Heimdall? I never used it, but you can try if it recognizes the phone!
Do you have the SGS drivers installed?
i have had the same problem! just try to flash JVK (cause it have safe bootloaders...was the only rom that saved me). Pull out the battery and restart the phone directly in download mode...JVK is for gingerbread. For CM7 based rom find out what rom from froyo you need to install first, with safe bootloaders!
I cannot flash anything. I only have 3e recovery option, but it flashes only signed ZIP files.
I got same problem, phone starts only when charger or usb cable plugged in. sent back to samsung they mentioned its a hardware problem and fixed it. I was on official rom.

you can get a rescue kit from My Android Collections and or a solution from My Android Solutions
Use only ROM and solution for your model and Wipe x3
But First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT.SD card, press power button for a minute, than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card....
(Do remember to backup your contacts, data, images etc and also your EFS folder before flashing a ROM and make sure you have more than 50% battery charge before you attempt any sort of flashing.)
Hello People,
Firstly I would like to apologize if this is a duplicate post, Googling reveals tons of different documents which actually has confused me and as I have tried many, I don't even know now what have I screwed up.
Phone - U8800H
OS - Linux
I tried to update my phone and it got messed up. It simply won't boot but go in an infinite loop or restarting every 3 seconds (once the HUAWEI logo is displayed).
By pressing both Vol buttons and starting the phone I can go into bootloader mode (pink screen) and the phone drives get mounted. However trying to go to recover mode by pressing the Vol UP key during start up simply again keeps restarting the phone.
I have tried various solutions which include re-downloading the images folder files again, replacing the recover.img from clockwork, formatting that partition and retrying, almost everything.
The phone simply keeps restarting. Replacing or removing any of the file in the images folder gives me a blue screen during going to bootloader mode.
As I cant get to recover mode I don't know what to do.
The warranty of the phone is finished as it was only of three months. I was told by the company I purchased it from to be a "power problem" but I think its a software problem as I messed it up myself.
If anyone has faced such situation before please help.
Thanks.

The original ROM was U8800HV100R001AREC00B135SP01 CUSTC213D001 (Kuwait VIVA). I have downloaded it as well.
However as suggested it asks me to create a dload folder in a formatted SD card with the zipped files within it, and then start the phone in 'recovery mode'. However the phone doesn't start in that mode with the same restarting issue.
One person suggested to create a 'dload' folder in the SD card with no contents in it and then start the phone in 'bootloader' mode and the phone will auto revert to its default firmware. I did as suggested but it didn't work either.
I have the original boot.img that came with the phone. I also downloaded a fresh boot.img (along with the other three files that come in the images folder) but still the same result of restarting during trying to start in 'recover mode'.
It was working fine till I messed it up trying to upgrade it to 2.3 to change the patched wpa_supplicant file to connect to Ad-Hoc networks.
I think I need to change the files required for 'recover mode' to default ones, but I don't know where they reside. Any tutorial in this direction would be great.
Thanks.
My guess is that some of the partitions got messed up somehow, some different filesystems (ext4 over ext3) in 2.3 stock fw.
Have you tried copying update.app to dload-folder of sdcard then booted phone with both vol-down and vol-up pressed (bootloader mode). That should in theory start the update...

Ok then.... because I'm lost... which rom was on!
2.2.1?
or 2.3.?
these are the files needed FIRST....
---------- Post added at 05:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:16 PM ----------
Ok IF you were on 2.2.... on sdcard make \dload folder with update 2.2 original rom!!!!
Vol+ Vol- Power on...pink screen and it should do the rest!!!
Recovery after you reinstall 2.2!
Now IF you managed to put 2.3... then put 2.3 update in sdcard \dload and again it should do the rest.
If you are trying to come back to 2.2 or miui oxygen cm7 from the beta.... first put the 2.3 beta back on via the sdcard.
I have put the original ROM in 'dload' folder and as suggested I shall have started the phone in 'bootloader' mode now. There is no movement on the screen so I don't know even if its doing something.
How much should I wait or shall I be notified if the update is done ?
Thanks.

Is your folder structure like this
/sd
/sd/dload
/sd/dload/update.app
If it is, then boot to bootloader. you should see it is doing stuff.

I have double checked it again, the structure is 'dload' folder in the root of the memory card and the update.app file in it, still however I don't see any movement in the 'bootloader' mode, just the "pink" screen continuously lit.
What am I doing wrong ?
Thanks.

Pink screens means it didn't work. Your phone isn't mounting the sd-card right in bootloader mode. You could try to put the dload-folder on internal sd-card, should be possible since you're on linux. Think you just need to mount the right partition when connecting your phone via usb when in pinkscreen. I don't recall exactly which partition as I'm using Windows and haven't tried this, but you should be able to find some more info around here by searching a bit...

Hello XDA-Forum!
Same problem here with my u8800
I have original recovery.img but i fd' other files by overwriting them.. (yes i know...)
Now my phone doesen't start flashing and i cant do anything. I was using almost latest version of oxygen mod.
Do i need original files to flash my phone back to stock in image/... floder? And if i need, can i dig version form recovery.img? or might this is problem with partitions? I think oxygen is known by partition problems.

I have tried as you suggested, There were 5 partitions on the phone 2 of which were smaller than 200MB and therefore could not save the update file which is larger in size. I have tried over the remaining three partitions but in vain, they all end up with the same pink screen.
However you might be correct that my phone is not mounting the SD card as I can't see the SD card in the list of mounted drives in the computer.
To put/move files on SD card I have to use my another phone
I will get another SD card and try. In the meanwhile if there is anything else I could try, do advice me.
Thanks.

Hi, and welcome to XDA!
I guess you got the same problem with sd-card not mounting properly if you can't initiate stock flashing via dload-folder-method.
If you search the forums you'll find links to download all files that's needed in the image-folder of pinkscreen-partition. Then you'll hopefully be able to boot to recovery (vol-up + power), wipe data/cache/dalvik cache and flash whatever ROM you'd like. Remember this erases all your data, hopefully you've backed up whatever precious stuff you've got on your phone.

Remember that you need all files from the same version. Try this, those are from stock 2.2 if I'm not mistaken. When (if?) you get into recovery, remember to clear cache / data / dalvik cache.

Glad to hear you get it working as we both had the basically same problem.
For me however still it is the same issue, except that while going into the recover mode now it shuts down instead or restarting endlessly. Where as the bootloader mode simply does nothing.
Can you post the exact steps you did to get your work so I can also repeat them?
Thanks.
@huzefa_from_kuwait:
You've got the U8800H right? Then you need to find the correct image-folder for your phone, as it differs from what I uploaded which is for U8800.
Well, Hi!
A little history before the real problem.
My girlfriend bought a U8800-51 phone by my recommendations, because it's a great phone in this range of prices.
The phone had a problem. It reboot many times in a day (10~20 times) So I decided to upgrade the OS to GB with the gingermovida v1.1 ROM.
The phone stopped in the bootanimation secuence. I tried 5 times with the same result.
I downloaded the official 2.2.2 ROM from the Huawei website and put it in the SD card. I turned on the phone in download mode and started the install secuence. But stopped in the 2/2 step with the "Update Failed" message.
I tried to enter in recovery mode without success, with 5 different "recovery.img" files. In a thread in this forum somebody explained a method to back to stock froyo ROM using a .img file and the Roadkil's Disk Image tool, but with a AT&T img file.
My brother has the same phone so i made a backup of his phone and put it in my girlfriend phone. Everything works great! Boot OS and load all the information, 3G work and USB Mass storage work, so I did a wipe data - factory reset and everyrhing works again.
At this point I discovered that the IMEI is the same of my brother's phone. I tried many different tricks or tutorials (QPST, CDMA Tool, DFS, AT Command in Terminal, etc) and nothing changed. In the last try I upgraded the OS using CM7 movida v2 and 3G works, WiFi works, but I still have the same IMEI and a new problem came out. When I plug the USB cable and activate the Mass Storage Mode, only shows a Read Only CD drive with all SD Card files.
In the stock froyo ROM I went to the "Project Menu" and changed the USB options, but I can't remember in what option I leave it. In this ROM (CM7 movida v2) i can't go to this menu and check if I have the same Stock ROM configuration.
Besides, I didn't backed up my GF'S IMEI. So I don't know if it can be recovered.
She's gonna kill me, so I need a little help ASAP!
That's all. So here's the thing:
- I have the same IMEI of my brother's phone.
- Everything works except for the Read-Only Mass Storage Mode.
P.S: I don't know if the different driver that I installed affect something here.
Try to upgrade your phone, puting dload folder on sdcard, maybe it can fix your IMEI. About the mounting, I dont know what is happening, but maybe if you upgrade your OS, it will work fine..
What ROM can I use? The Official Huawei ROM (Movilnet U8800-51) didn't work (to solve the IMEI problem) If I try to downgrade using that ROM the phone stop in the 2 step and then I will need to do everything again.
What about B565? You can download it here: http://www.huaweidevice.com/cn/downloadCenter.do?method=toDownloadFile&flay=software&softid=NDEyMTU=
And I also found this topic, there is a user who says the solution so check it out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1513439
Well, that ROM is for PRO version of the U8800 phone and I have the U8800-51 version. Baseband and other thing are different between versions. I will try the steps of your link when my girlfriend let me try again
Sorry, my mistake :/
I dont own a u8800 51 but the software isnt the same as u8800?
No, unfortunately, like I said: Baseband and other tiny thing are differents :crying:
-.-" Wait a bit, maybe someone will help you
Do you have any sort of backup from where you were when the phone worked correctly?
that's why I don't share backup. The fw on the -51 is tightly locked. I'm surprised they allowed pink screen. Your better off going for warranty. Unless, you can open the background password. I'll look for an alternative fix.

Hi
I'm terrible stuck, and hope somebody can help me. Recently i wiped and then installed 4.4 Google Edition on my i9505. Everything worked, except extremely poor wifi. I then read that I might try updating my phone modem (to I9505_XXUEMK8_MODEM), including a pacth NON.HLOS. However, after this, The phone(dialer) chrases, Bluetooth doen not work, and neither does anything that inlcudes sound (ringtones, alarms, etc). The rest of the phone works flawless - and I DO have great wifi reception
Anybody got any suggestions?
I have the same problem.
I flashed an Australian Telstra i9505 which previously had baseband I9505DVUAMD8
with MKE_modems_GSM_LTE.tar.md5 (I9505XXUEMKE and I9505XXUEMKE-WiFi-FIX)
Looking for a way to get rid of NON-HLOS.bin (wifi fix) or at least revert back to whatever it was before. As the phone (dialer) worked before I used the wifi fix.
Fixed the issue. Stock rom has original NON-HLOS.bin file.
---
1. Download the stock rom your carrier is using (for me it's the Telstra stock rom)
2. Use philz touch as your custom recovery
3. Do a full wipe (dalvik, cache partition and clean rom install)
4. Use odin in download mode and stock rom via PDA

I have the exact same problem.I tried to download a stock rom and flash the non-hlos.bin included but nothing changed. I doubt I need to flash entire firmware (I don't want the new bootloader).
UPDATE OK for anyone having the same issue I solved it by flashing the NON-HLOS.bin from a stock 4.2.2 ROM I had still on my computer (I9505XXUBMEA). You can extract just this file and flash it via ODIN without affecting your bootloader and stuff

Hi there Let's make it easy for you boot into download mode and if you have an entry: Knox Warranty Void then you are having the new bootloader. So you need to Flash the latest Wifi Fix from djembey thread. By flashing a Wrong LTE modems will break your sound if you have an oldbootloader. Have a nice day.
I really don't get it but after flashing a stock 4.4 ROM my wifi stopped working (couldn't enable it).
So i did some searching (found this thread and some others) and they stated that you could fix this by (re)flashing the modem.bin and non-hlos.bin that comes with the ROM you flashed in the first place.
I found this silly in the first place, as i could see that those files were flashed too, but i did it anyways.
Guess what happened... Wi-Fi was (and is still) fixed!
Happy as i am i still wonder why flashing the complete ROM (that had those files in it) wasn't enough to fix wifi.

Possibly because you simply rebooted into download mode, instead of turning phone completely off and booting up into download mode and then flashing stock ROM?
If you don't turn phone off completely before entering download mode sometimes modem doesn't flash properly.
If you did turn phone off, then boot into download and then flash ROM I have no idea! Lol

the new one as in TWRP 2.8.6.0?
which version of ICS did you install B928?
if so did you:
check if baseband 404029 instead of 404020?
IMEI wasn't messed up during process?
follow pink screen unlock method?
where does it say image signature verify fail during which process?
I am not able boot the phone its....neither to recover or normal mode...the baseband was 404029..I think

If you were on B928 version, you can run pink screen unlock to install a custom recovery such as TWRP.
However if you're not able to boot, this possibly means you flashed a wrong firmware. double check if you have a u8800pro not the u8800 or u8800+ (i'm not sure about the + one) they have different firmware.
Overall if you have a u8800pro, i recommend installing the stock B928 following the official procedure, this is almost a foolproof method to fix any possible software issue you may have.
the link below should have all you need.

Solved the problem
The answer was so simple....If u want all the data present in your mobile download the boot loader unlocker from the website given above by sarsiroslayer..thx man
Paste the Update.App in folder called dload and the folder should be in the root of the sdcard...yes you need a sdcard...and then remove the battery of the phone so it switches off...then connect the phone to the USB wire without battery...and immediatly press the volume. Down, volume up and power button...so it goes to a pink screen..and remember the sdcard should already be placed in the phone...and yes if the phone does not go into pink screen and instead starts to update the software Olla ur phone is fixed......restart and all will be fine...
Ifthis did not work or u don't want any data download the official 2.3.5 android from the huawei site and place the update.app in dload folder and do the same thing as above....My phone is working..:highfive:
