SBF back to 2.3.340 - Droid X General

Currently I'm running the gingerbread 4.5.573 leak on my droidx. I'm wanting to be able to install the liberty gingerbread on my phone, but it says in order to do so I need to be on 4.5.588. In order for me to get on 4.5.588 it says I need to be on 2.3.340 before I get on liberty gingerbread. Can someone provide a link or a how to on how I can SBF back to 2.3.340 from the 4.5.573 version that I'm currently on? I've looked over the forums using a search and I've seen people wanting to do the same thing, but no links for the sbf downloads work.

Thank you jmoney, I will try it in a bit.

Got home last night and this website was great. Showed exactly how to do it and provided the files. Now I'm back to where I wanted to be. Thank you!

used both .sbf files and still failed. anyone have any other ideas how i can reflash this back to stock?

Did you extract the .sbf file or did you try doing it while it was still zipped? You need to unzip it and use the .sbf extension file to do it. What was the error you were getting?

2.3.23 Full SBF on MDW Now

I've not flashed it, but the links are currently working.
There's An App For That
For those of you who don't make it in time to get the SBF before it's taken down, don't worry. If you have the TBH app, you are good to go. Not only do they have the 2.3.32 update, but also the 2.3.32 SBF in case you wish to go back. Thank God for TBH. Way to go guys - don't know what I'd do without you.
Enjoy everyone! You're welcome.
We normally discourage openly posting the content from the TBH app but this is an exception in order to make this file available to anyone who might need it.
Thank you for posting links back to MDW and promoting the use of the TBH app.
Good luck and happy droiding!
does anyone have the 2.3.23 update.zip, all the links are dead on MDW. i got the new 2.3.23 sbf file but need the update.zip so I can get onto 2.3.23
I need that zip too. I was able to sbf to 2.3.32 but the bootloader version stays on 30.01.

email me if you need the update file, i think it was pulled
You can also get it from the TBH app, with the nice upside of supporting TBH
Does the tbh app have the full. 320 sbf available?

just flash the sbf without updating, worked like a charm coming from my bricked DX.
remember to pull the battery after you update when the droid x animation begins to boot loop. then hold the home button when booting up again, then data/factory reset from the recovery and select reboot system now.
z4root works, confirmed. just installed Fission 2.3 just minutes from sbf'ing 2.3.23.
It's important to remember that flashing the SBF will not update the bootloader whereas the update.zip will update to 30.04 but will not update the baseband.
That is the primary difference as well as the update.zip being rooted and deodexed with busybox installed.

what baseband? there is a baseband update in one of these? why not do the update.zip and sbf in that case?
i thought p3 posted on twitter there was no baseband update in either of them.
not true, sbf coming from 2.3.15 updated it all.

did you confirm that by going to stock recovery? i have not experienced that myself. only way to update bootloader was with update.zip

The SBF has a baseband update in it, but for almost everyone it won't matter because the baseband hasn't changed from 2.3.15. I think only people still on eclair or the froyo leak were the only ones who are behind on the baseband.

Will I be able to update to ota 2.3 with leaked 2.2?

I am currently running a leaked version of 2.2.
Does anyone know if I will be able to get the ota update to 2.3 that's rumored to be coming out soon?
Thanks
From what I read, no, you cannot go directly from a leaked version to OTA. You will need to sbf back to stock froyo (will all bloatware intact) before you can get the OTA update. There is a link somewhere in the forums to the sbf files.

Wow. To be honest, I have never seen that system version. Anyway just go to the site I mentioned above and look for the droid x. You also could probably use a file called madderstock.zip which will accomplish the same the but I do not currently remember where to find it
U can find maderstock file here... Its a flashable .zip ... Same as sbfing your phone just apply using dxbootstrap

Google search sbf droid x 30.01. Lol that was my bootloader when I permanently bricked my first DX. But thats a different story.
You could try the newest sbf file as mentioned above. I actually am not sure if it will update your bootloader, but I haven't tried it so I would trust the person who posted it
Here is the info you need:
http://1kds.net/SBF-Page.php
You will have to get to system 2.3.340 to get the official update. You will need to be stock (you can have root). You have to have all bloat replaced, no bootstrap, and odexed. An sbf will do all this for you.

Confusion with the sticky posts

I finally made the decision to root my DX, and a friend of mine said that everything I need to know can be found here. So I started with the stickies in this thread and am running in a circle. Hopefully someone can sort me out. I have diagrammed my confusion for your viewing pleasure.

That's one of the best responses I've ever seen, lol.
OK - part of your problem is the different versions. The 2.3.320 and 2.3.340 are Motorola's (Verizons?) version numbers. They are separate and unrelated to Android's version numbers. You want the 2.3.340 sbf, then either flash a custom rom or the pre-rooted OTA from p3droid.
I just found the Gingerbreak thread through the droid x xda developers wiki page. Will continuing reading.
Gingerbreak won't work, we'd have posted if it did.
From the sticky man himself! Does this mean that 2.3.340 is equivalent to Froyo in terms of rooting?
2.3.340 is the build version of 2.2.1 froyo we are now on build version 4.4.596 of gingerbread 2.3.3... in otherwords like mrkite said the 2.3.340 is verizons build number it has nothing to do with goggles version number... I know it confused the heck out of me too when I was a beginer

Equivalent? Well, an sbf sets your phone back to stock. In this case it moves your phone back to froyo, which is rootable.
Hey mrkite, if you're (or anyone else) still online, maybe you can help me out with the wording here on deodex-ing. Regarding the flashable .zip file, the instruction says to "Copy this to your sdcard, and flash in bootstrap recovery!" Is 'this' referring to copying the whole zip file, or extracting the contents and dropping them on the sd card? Then, what does it mean to flash it in bootstrap recovery? I have the Droid X Bootstrapper and click "Bootstrap Recovery". I assume this is activating some kind of safe mode that requires further action?
Thanks!
Update: I'm just taking the "long" way, which I would hardly consider "long"
u would capy the zip file in all its glory lol. then bootstrap, restart recovery, install from zip, choose zip from sd. voila ur done. reboot. if ur doing 2.3.340 on itself ur good, if not then data wipe then reboot.

[HOW TO] Extract SBF 2.2.2 FR (just can do software update and want have SBF!)

Hello,
Soory for my poor English !!!!!
For the French update, Motorola send a software but not the SBF ....
So I want to know if it is possible to extract the french SBF 2.2.2 !
thanks a lot for your answer
Search for SBF Depacker, and find a way to extract the files from CG39.smg (which is a code for system.img) from the SBF.

Ok thanks for the reply
Not sure to totally understand what you want...
Do you want to get a copy of the french 2.2.2 sbf or to find a way to open and explore it?
If you just want to get a copy, I do have it.
When you update the MM2 using Motorola Update Manager, it downloads the sbf on your harddrive, then asks if you want to proceed the update.
Before answering yes, search for *.sbf on your harddrive, and you'll find it.
(Don't start the update, because once it's over, the file is deleted)
Thanks Momus87, you have right ... dangpzanco don't understand me
I'll test your idea tomorow !!!
If you pass me the following files, I can get the SBF
system/default.prop and system/build.prop
etc/motorola/File_GSM
Miroir SBF 2.2.2 FR"]Miroir SBF 2.2.2 FR[/URL]
Thanks Momus87
Moved to proper forum. since this thread is not android development.
Sorry Mr. Clown !
Have a good day
Noob.
I just bought my MS2 and was wondering since I downloaded the update file from the Motorola UK site, if that matters or not. The WCDMA matches with the model I have, so in theory it should work. I could not find a working droid 2 bootstrap recovery. Any help would be appreciated.
You can find the droid 2 bootstrapper on the market, but, nevertheless, in order to update your phone or restore a SBF file, you must use RSD lite, with your phone thethered to a PC

[Q] Want to get back to stock

Can someone point me in the right direction?
I am at .596 and running Liberty GB v.09
Just want to get back to stock and decide from there if I want to root or just stay stock
I understand I will probably have to SBF but do I go to .602 or .605 (SBF available?)
Do I need to go to something before .602 and update OTA?
Thanks
SBF to .596 or .602, then update to .605.
I recommend SBFing to .596 just to be safe, although SBFing to .602 shouldn't give you any problems.

I would SBF to 2.3.340 Froyo then take the large OTA then factory reset. This has worked well for me.
There is now a 605 sbf file that was released by Motorola on 10-5-2011.
Here is the exact file name for those who may know someone with RSD access:
1FF-p3a_shadow_cdma_shadow-user-2.3.3-4.5.1_57_DX5-35-110820-test-keyssigned-Verizon-US.sbf.gz

Just go sbf to 602 and take the 605 ota. use the latest one click to root if you want. The one click root also works on stock 605....I'm running it now and a 605 based rom called icx.
Giggity.
