Help!!! Nandroid restore stuck at data!!! - G2 and Desire Z General

Hello peeps,
I am very confused as to why my nandroid backup doesn't want to restore my data.
I've been doing this many time over the past half-year....
Today, I wanted to try the new nightly of CM7, so I flashed and backed-up using ROM Manager, everything was fine. (went from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4)
Now I am trying to do a restore and it works until "restoring data" and it gets stuck there then the ClockWorkMod restarts....
Is there any way to save this?
Is my nandroid backup corrupt?
Did I just lose everything? Help!!!
Thanks a lot guys!

[Q] Broken Nandroid Backup

Hello All,
I had a TPT with rooted ThinkPadTablet_A400_03_007_132_WE.
Yesterday I installed CWM from here and made a backup of the ICS using the standard dup format.
Then went on to install CM10.
All worked fine and CM10 seems great.
However, I forgot to do a TitaniumBackup of the apps in ICS.
So I went back to CWM to restore the backup ICS.
Here comes the problem.
At restoration, CWM breaks saying it cannot restore system data.
I then cleared cache/data/dalvik and tried again to restore ICS. No luck.
So I´m stuck with CM10 now. Does anyone have an idea how I could recover my ICS installation.
If not, I want to recover it to backup the app I bought through the Lenovo store, which I can no longer reinstall in CM10. Any ideas how I could achieve that?
Thanks a lot,
Bruno

[Q] Error Restoring Data from TWRP backup

Hi All,
Ran in to a bit of a problem when trying to restore a backup i had made in TWRP 2.4.3.0.
The System restored, but the data, which is 700MB took around 2 seconds to "restore", and just wiped the Data partition, instead of restoring anything.
If anyone knows how to overcome this issue i would be much appreciated, as I was trying to recover everything in Data.
J
This is common in the last few versions of TWRP. You can try using Orange Backup in the play store to restore it.
Thanks for the reply.
Managed to restore all my Apps and Data from Titanium Backup, which is a lifesaver!

[Q] Titanium backup on fresh rom install

Hey guys, I just did a fresh install of ROM and Kernel, and installed some basic apps.
Does anyone have experience with Titanium Backup ( I got the PRO) on the best way to backup this fresh install.
I'd like to restore to this state whenever a problem occurs.
Thanks for helping me out!!
OH and also, if I was to restore this backup on another ROM that I install, would it restore the ROM no right? sorry if sounds confusing..

You need to back it up in recovery, not in Titanium.
When you restore, it will return to the exact state of the backup; rom, kernel, messages, everything. Just like it was when you backed it up.

+1 You can backup via recovery all the rom n its stuff.. Titanium backup is just backing n restoring the apps..
You can use titanium backup later when you have installed some apps but to backup the factory settings use recovery

[Q] Restoring backup

Hello, I did a backup of all my apps+data and now I'm trying to restore it but it gets stuck at the "com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox". Does anyone have a guess of what's going on?
Ps: I'm still trying to run it but it's like more than 10 minutes that way
Edit: the toolkit said the process was completed, but not all my apps are there.

restore your nandroid backup the right way, not through a root toolbox. restore it in/with your custom recovery.
you dont backup usual apps in system partition as it will hang or reboot, just backup user data, and use CWM

HELP!!! :'( Restore only apps and data from nandroid?

Hey guys!
So yesterday, I installed the app 'Android Control Center'. I messed around with a few settings and ended up in a bootloop. I do not have anything backed up in Titanium backup. So I made a nandroid backup in the hope that id be able to restore my apps out of that by using nandroid manager, but all of my app data were not extracted from the nandroid. So now im planning to restore the nandroid backup and use TWRPs file manager to remove that apk and its data. Are there any other things I should do to fix this problem? Will this work??
Guys, any help is appreciated!!!
Hardly believe that app can cause your system into bootloop... anyway, if you want to try.
Titanium Backup can restore apps from Nandroid backup, preferably CWM tar backup. However, this function is currently having issues with Android 4.3, so if you want to reflash the ROM, pick ROM with 4.2.2.
I believe TWRP backup should also works, but I haven't try it before. If you need to use TWRP, do it without compression & encryption.
IMO your problem can be a simple fix by remove the faulty app and reflash the ROM.
just reflash your rom via recovery, dont wipe, you wont lose any data
Alright thanks for the response. I copied my TWRP backup to my PC, extracted it and now I'm trying to copy the data folder from my TWRP backup to my ROM's data folder. Hopefully, this will work.
PS - I removed the app and i reflashed the rom but that didn't seem to fix the problem.
