Nandroid?? Wtf?? How?? I'm totaly confused... - Desire HD General

Hi i'm noob so i have probably stupid question.. can some one explane me how to do nandroid backup?? What is nandroid?? Please in details??

Search for recovery backup.
"Nandroid" is just the default term used to mean a full ROM backup using a custom recovery (ClockWorkMod).
You'll need root (search).
Flash a recovery.img file or use ROM Manager (search).

Hmmm so if I do backup in rom manager that should be nandroid backup?? (My phone is rooted already )
Sry for my stupid questions and my noob moments and my bad engl. Oh my.. so many and..

Dunno who came up with the term, I'm quite a newcomer to Android stuff myself, but it apparently means full backup of the NAND Flash on which an Android ROM is stored. Very useful if you flash a bad ROM and you have to do a full wipe after destroying your previous ROM. At least recovery will be quick and painless and you'll be able to restore your phone to its previous state. It helped me out once or twice before.

There are sites that list the stock RUU's so no worries there.
http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Ace/ has stock WWE ROM's and there is another list of network specific which I can't recall at the moment but we'll worry about it should (IF) you ever want to go back to stock.

Tnx for answers... i hit tnx btn for you my dear cyber friend

There is a wildfire rom for the tattoo (tatfroyosense is the name), so it is possible. I could ask him.

Deleting Cyanogen

This may seem a rather stupid question, and I am 90% sure of it- but is it ok to delete the gapps and cyanogen file now that I have the new rom installed. Thanks for your patience!
Sent from an idiot
Yes it is ok to delete cm7 and install other rom.
Go to recovery and wipe everything first. Then install the new rom.
Edit: oh ... Now I got what you were asking. Lol....

Yes you can delete the file once it's installed, just remember it may be a good idea to keep them handy incase something goes wrong, you can just re install it (and wipe) to get it back working.
Hope that's what you meant!
Thanks!

If you installed CWM successfully then I'm afraid you've deleted your existing ROM (AmeriCanAndriod). Unless you had a backup on your SD card via an app (e.g. Titanium Backup) there is no way to recover it as far as I know.
tnx

The advantages of root are the same as on your old device.
You can, there are a lot of tutorials around that show exactly how.
Through a custom recovery
Just disable root. Use search
Your a big boy (I suppose) use search and do some research.

Yes men, before i post this i search a find awsner´s , but in this forum are so many post´s of the same but with different awsner that i put my question here!
I wanna root my nexus 4 and try other ROM´s , but i don´t know if i after install a custom ROM and then flash the Stock again and for example, the Android 4.4 KitKat get´s release if i go check my update will be there for i update, you know what i mean ? can you awnser that for me please ?
But i will have some research, and thank you for your awsner and sorry for anything.
Just root it and play around with all the custom roms. The curiosity will eventually make you do it and if you end up not liking it u can always go back to stock.
Is there any way to change font style without rooting nexus 4? I'm really frustrated with this font style.! Please advise!

No, to install fonts you need to have access to the /system partition which you do not have unless you are rooted.
Rooting a nexus is very easy though.

Yes, you do. But with apps like titanium and carbon, you've got everything backed up. Everything else is synced with google. I don't find it too hard to do full wipes after the second time you do it.
