RAM in xperia arc - Xperia Arc General

Hi guys,
I just purchased the Arc from ROGERS, and I see the ram shows in some "system info" apps is only 355 MB, is it suppose to be 512?
Thanks~

Its 512 MB ram but the other 150mb ram is reserved its the same on nexus s.

how long will atrix sustain

I meant the performance 'cause now Combination of 1g Hz and 512m ram appears slow for the latest version but atrixs spec can nearly reach a PC hence whether it will become slow before long remains to watch

Where are you getting 512 as the ram size. The atrix has 1 gig of ram, the update did not change this.
surely that spec refers to HTC desire level

I think what he is referring to in the first part is that phones with those specs are slow.

Task manager showing 1.75 GB RAM

Hey all,
I just flashed stock firmware on my galaxy note 2 and found that task manager was showing 1.75 GB RAM instead of 2 GB.
I think it was 2 GB before but I ain't sure.
Is it normal ?

yeah I have about 500-600 available, but you need to remember that the system will always want to use as much RAM as possible at the time and kill processes as more are started. Unused RAM is wasted RAM.

This sir, is how you respond to a post, couldn't have asked for a better answer, I'm far from a noob, but it makes sense that most of the available ram is used yet the system is pure butter, appreciate it.

Unused RAM in Linux/Android is wasted RAM, it's not like Windows where it means bad things
