Phone vibrating to often!!! - Nexus One General

please tell me you know what option this is.
I make a call -> right before it starts ringing i get 3 vibrations.
I put the phone to my ear -> i take it away -> the screen comes on -> 3 vibrations...
Any ideas?

haptic feed back
Also in the phone app s setting see if you can disable that
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA Premium App

i turned off heptic feedback in the default diale (i`m using dialer one)
i turned off heptic feedback in the cyanogen mod settings
i turned off heptic feedback in the sound settings
still vibrates when the screen goes on

Try going to accessibility settings and see if you have kickback enabled

it was the freaggin profiles...they have settings that say: always vibrate for some reason!

Phone vibrate v. Key vibrate

Is there a way I can get the phone to vibrate for a phone call but not have the buttons on bottom vibrate? I notice when I turn down the vibration intensity it also doesn't vibrate for phone calls.... That kind of sucks

I am wondering the same. Anybody know of a app or fix?
I just figured it out...leave the phone vibrate checked but uncheck the haptic feedback

Thanks for the quick fix tip
Any other way around this? I love that my soft keys vibrate (just ensures me that I actually touched it), but I need my vibrate mode to be put to the highest. I don't want my haptic feedback to be too strong, but I don't want my vibrate mode to be too low at the same time. Hmmmmm, any apps or something?

Desire HD screen vibrates on phone call - proximity sensor

Solved: HTC Desire HD vibrates randomly on phone call
If you are having an issue with the HTC Desire HD where the screen will randomly vibrate when you are on a call then here is the fix:
Goto Menu > settings > Profiles > (currently selected profile) > Phone > vibrate mode
Then set it to "No Override"
The vibration happens when the proximity sensor in the phone detects that your face has left the screen.
I searched around and it took me quite a while to identify the solution, I figured others will be having the problem and posted this so that it will come up in search results.
I am running Cyanogen Mod 7.0 (CM7).
Yeah, bugged me since a while as well, and finally found it was the Vibrate Mode, just before performing data wipe.
This will only affect for CM7 users, as profiles is NOT part of stock ROM.
Edit: I forgot to add that the guy who wrote this feature on CM7 commented that it was a bug. I just cannot find the source now.
I think the profile settings are good. The default values just need changing. I'm surprised I haven't seen an influx of threads complaining about this haha.
THANNNNKKK YOUUUU!!!!
I was getting crazy over this damn annoyance!
FYI, for me, only deleting the dailer from the PHONE application group helped ...
fooking annoying
SAVED!!! Was about to loose my mind.

Thankyou thankyou thankyou! It was driving me nuts...
FYI, when I lifted the phone away from my ear, the phone not only vibrated when the screen turned on, but also played a random song from my SD storage. I didn't understand what was going on, and Dr Google couldn't help this time! Thankyou XDA.

Atrix Vibration Option for the bottom row of buttons

I want to turn the vibration off of the bottom row of buttons. I do not see a haptic or vibration toggle or option that will turn this off in the 2.2.1 system version. Just want some direction. It is not under Settings > Sound.
+1

I'm sure that would also save a lot of batterylife ..
This has been asked/answered in this forum many times now. There is nothing from Motorola to provide this functionality. The only solution right now is to have your Atrix rooted and then download and install the the Dell StreakVibrations.apk
Once that software is installed you'll be able to disable ALL vibrations on your phone. This will turn off the haptic feedback on the bottom 4 buttons as well. Everytime you reboot your phone you'll still have to re-run the StreakVibrations software to disable vibrations again.
This software allows you to toggle all vibrations off/on.
NOTE: while vibrations are OFF, silent alerts that depend on vibrations will NOT work, like "Silent Mode", aka "Meeting Mode", etc.

Haptic Feedback on Soft Keys disables on every reboot - Galaxy s III SGH-I747M

I am running stock Samsung Galaxy SIII ROM and Kernel (UNROOTED) on Virgin Mobile Canada.
I go in the sound settings and enable haptic feedback to "vibrate when soft keys are pressed and on certain UI interactions."
Every time I reboot or Turn Off/Turn On the phone, no matter the sound profile I am uring (silent, vibrate, sound on), the check mark in the haptic feedback setting gets "unchecked" and therefore disables haptic feedback for soft keys. I turn my phone off every evening and therefore this is a bit of a nuisance.
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. I did a search on XDA and did not see any posts for this exact issue.

After more troubleshooting I have found the problem:
At every boot I would turn back on haptic feedback in settings. On one boot I finally noticed that power save mode was on (from the notification it made). I checked the power save settings and it was set to "Turn off haptic feedback". This is what was turning off on each boot.
Problem solved.
Thanks god you found the problem! It's driving me crazy too!

How to enable haptic vibrate again ?

I was playing around with my wife's G6 tonight and I noticed every time I made a touch or anything in the phone there was no haptic vibrate going on. But before her phone always had a very nice haptic feedback on it.
I checked all settings like sound had vibrate to tap on I went to other settings with haptic feedback and they looked to all be checked and enabled.
So why isn't her phone vibrating ?
No one has an idea what's up ?
I went through all Settings options, turned off and back on Vibrate to tap. Still doesn't work.

It could be that the vibration motor is dead or damaged...

Haptic actuators don't use motors.
Make sure your battery saving is turn off, turning on battery saving will disable haptic feedback.
