Is there a way to grab the Tablet app of Facebook for the nc? I hate the basic mobile version to death and using Dolphin for Web Facebook is even worse at times - anyone tried this yet?

There is a Facebook app in Android Market search for "Facebook for Android" at Android Market.
If you are talking about official B&N Facebook app then i guess they are trying to integrate all that into "Nook Friends" which is in beta mode till now.

If you mean HoneyComb by HC then yeah there is "Facebook for Android" available on Market just search it.

Yeah, RASTAVIPER is right.
If you want to view profile use "Facebook for Android" or "Flow" and a combination of these two with "Go!Chat for Facebook Pro" works incredibly great.

Just got it and i like it, however, it still sort of buggy and certainly will be updated soon...
If i click on pictures someone posted from the feeds, the app crashes. Some of the functions will launch the browser, but it's a good start.

You can access the facebook phone book as a live folder on the desktop. Just press and hold > Folders > Facebook Phonebook.

It's not a tuma!
Err I mean, it's not an official facebook app. It's just called "facebook" and it uses facebook's icons, which may or may not annoy facebook itself.

I accidentally deleted the official Facebook app that came preloaded with my Iconia...now every time I attempt to download it from the Android Market it says not compatible with my device. What gives? Where can I get a copy? Did a google search for facebook.apk for some of those links look shady! Thanks.

The facebook app 1.6 isn't compatible with HC 3.1, so even if you get it it won't work, unless yoour not on HC 3.1 in which case no idea.

the original facebook app on the iconia was just a link to facebook.com. no app from facebook currently works on honeycomb. Download friend me from the market. It links into face book and gives a nice interface into facebook, honeycomb optimized.

This is absolutely not true i have facebook on my acer it is version 1.5.4 so, although 1.6 may not work, facebook does in fact work. You just need the right version.
that being said friend me is better on HC for sure.

i've always had the market facebook market app. The only problems are that widget and friend button doesnt work

on my second tablet I got the 1.6 I will extract it, and install on second tablet.. but it's weird
Just checked again and I can't even find the FB app on the market. The only day I can find it is if I got to GoChat and look under related apps. If I try to download it, I get the "the request you have made cannot be found.
I'm kind of just sticking to using FB in Dolphin HD. The desktop version on there works well enough.
I tried using Friend Me and although I love the interface, its missing much functionality and can't even get basics correct. Notifications are out of wack, can't refresh 'em and the app just doesn't seem to want to update the FB content. I have to logout and log back in in order to update my notifications.
Like I said, browser FB works well enough and GoChat for chat works perfectly.
It appeared on my Iconia last night and I downloaded it without any problems. I've also had problems downloading it in the past - I could find it on Market, but it couldn't be downloaded.
Friend Me app will do the job but you get ads on the bottom of the screen which I hate as much as not having FB on my tablet lol

3.0 Provided Facebook and Twitter apps and widgets
3.1 does not
Has anyone else with a 3.0 version tablet(updated via OTA or flashing to 3.1) had problems getting the facebook app to update?
Should I uninstall the app and try to get it from the Market?

the facebook app was updated and the transformer was added to incompatible for the facebook app.
That sucks. You can use Launcher Pro with their sweet widgets.
As big as Facebook is, I'm sure it will get updated quickly. They've been updating it pretty frequently.
That or some awesome dev here will get it working. Maybe just something with the build.prop.

My transformer shipped without Facebook so I went ahead and download Friend Me which is actually better in my opinion.
I had to download the APK from the forums since the market was stating incompatibility with the tablet however it works fine.
Why a facebook app?
Facebook in the browser works flawlessly! Add in the keyboard dock and you are no different than using it as if it was a windows PC.

FriendMe works even more flawlessly. Give it a try.
Only annoyance with Facebook in browser is that the full site goes back to the mobile website after pressing the top left "Facebook"
FRIEND ME isn't perfect but very nice and intuitive...

Weird. I haven't had that issue. Is your user agent set permanently? I use the
stock browser.
Friendme looks nice, but I don't like third party programs taking my facebook info and to my knoweldge, Friendme doesn't have chat?

It's set to Android. It'd probably fix it as setting it to Desktop but I prefer having it set to Android. Just tried it, top left is now fixed. Now when I hit Home it goes to the mobile page of Facebook.

I have it, I paid for it because it work great but then it was updated and tab optimized and the issues began. Some stuff will not show up on status updates, I can no longer sync to my contacts, which was great because my texting app (heywire) would show a picture of the person I'm texting with. Also if I click a photo someone posted it shows a completely different photo.
All that also happens on my cell phone along with the tab. I check it in the web browser now but sometimes the app was just faster and more easy to used.
Even though it's not optimized, I'm glad they finally updated it to include support for tablets. I was using the Samsung Social Hub before and just installed Overcome's ROM so I can get rid of the Hub now.
I tried FriendMe, Friend Caster, and just found Facebook (official?) apps. I still prefer to use the browser...
Facebook app keeps force closing. Can't check friend list. And it seems slow to load anything. For me the web-based UI is what I am familiar with and the one I seem to keep going back to.
Anyone here having tons of issues using the current Facebook app,
My mom has a lot of issues, and the app is practically use less.
Would downgrading to gingerbread help?

Yes the Facebook app is a hog and you will have lots of issues with it. Gingerbread may help (I don't know). Have you tried disabling the auto video function? Google facebook auto video and see all the rants. On your app go to the left menu icon, scroll down to app settings and uncheck the box for Auto-play.
