Stock Facebook sync - Droid X General

I have been looking for it and can't find it. I'm on liberty 2.0.1, can someone provide a .zip/.apk file?

You're on liberty so all blur is removed. If you want blur components use a blur rom. I'mnot trying to be an asshole here, but the point of a blurless rom is to not have any blur components

[Q] Blur messaging for blurless roms

Is it possible to put the blur messaging.apk on blurless roms... i've always stuck to blurry roms like apex and bazinga, but i want to check out liberty and i've used the aosp messaging and i don't really like it...
I don't think the blur messaging is something u can add in. liberty has a toolbox that allows you to add in some blue features, but messaging is not one if them...
Try searching around for adding blur messaging into non blur roms, but I dont know any way at the moment

Try Tranquility 3.6. You can add and remove a lot of things

Ohhh I know there are roms where you can add the blur stuff you want, I'm specifically asking if there is a way you can add the blur messenging into blurless roms, like liberty

The point of a blurless rom is that it doesn't have blur. If you want true blur go back to stock
I understand that... I guess you weren't fully grasping my question

Ok then it depends in the rom that you are running. Fusion seems like a good idea for you because it is a slightly blurred version of fission. Give that a try

+1 for jmoney's comment. I would suggest trying out fusion or apex. Or zapX bazinga, but I havent really followed zapX for a while, so I dont know its current status.

Yeah I've tried zapx and apex... I was just wondering if you can specifically install the blur messaging .apk on a blurless rom...

I guess if it is an .apk you should technically be able to install it... I'll do some digging around different forums

Just because it is an .apk, does not necessarily mean it will install. With that, if it does install, it may not work correctly either. Some .apk files (blur files for instance) have other dependencies such as the moto-res.apk or the blur-res.apk files that come with the stock Motorola ROM's. These additional apk's have the dependencies built into them that allow the blur components to run correctly. Without the necessary configuration (not exactly sure, as I have not done ROM development) these blur apks will not work.
My guess with blur apps such as the blur camera, is that they do not rely on the moto-res or blur-res files in order to run, or only need a modification to a lib file to work correctly. Again, I'm not a programmer, but have a decent amount of IT knowledge and background for basic ideas and concepts. If you can find an answer that allows you to install what you are looking for, I would very much like to know about it, as many people here ask the same question you are asking.
However, (and I hate to sound redundant) the blur-less ROMS are created because many people dislike blur. Along with that... If I can find an answer to help you out, I will be sure to post back here as well!
Sorry to sound repetitive or a downer, just trying to provide you with any info I have.
What you said makes complete sense
.. I guess I just like the "build" of the blur messaging compared to the aosp messaging... I'm slowly getting used to the aosp messaging in liberty.... I guess you can only take what you get!

Miss a few stock apps...

I am running rubix focused and love it but I miss the stock messaging app that allowed you to view the emails in a small window. Is it possible to get and use that stock app or is there a similar app that will work as well as the OEM?
Also, is it possible to get the free version of Quick Office that came with 2.2.1 and use it with the rubix rom? Thanks.
Check sysadmin-x's guide to flashing a new rom... i feel like that would help your situation

Sorry... i meant to post this on another thread :/

Also... i had a similar question when i flashed liberty i missed the blur messaging app for some reason.. and from what people said on the thread its easier to integrate say.. the camera in a blurless rom rather than the blur messaging...

Ok, so some of the apps are part of blur-as in you can't simply find them in the old 2.2.1 files and use them on a custom rom?
Thanks for the reply.
You can... if you're using rubix try the blurry version as it allows you to restore the blur via a tookbox i believe.... I'm on apex that allows you to restore blur via scripts

Thanks I will give it a try. I didn't know if you could simply install the bur camera and camcorder onto focused.

Stock camera app on Sense...

I'm looking to get the stock Android camera app and gallery to replace the Sense apps. I'm not currently running a custom ROM, just stock root. I usually end up back with Sense after trying stock ROMS, but I really like the camera and gallery of stock Android. Is it possible?
Thanks in advance....

I dont think thats possible

Outside of changing rom's, the closest I could get my gallery to match something on say the Nexus One is with the app "Gallery 3D" in the market. It isn't a 100% exact replica as it was missing a few features but it matched the design.

Help me get multi-touch keyboard on Rubix Blurry 2.0 Please.

I am having trouble finding out how to put the stock keyboard on rubix blurry 2.0. Can someone help me out? Thanks.
+1 me two. That's the only reason im not using rubix and im very sad. My phone loves rubix better then any rom. So for now im on liberty using multi-touch keyboard. The weird thing is I've had it in rubix 1.9.7 before but the way I put it on doesn't work.

Anyone? With all these talented people, I know someone has to know how to successfully get the keyboard onto Rubix Blurry.
I've done it before a few times but for some reason the method I used is not working. I don't know why. Just hope that Drod will add a toolbox down the line.

Do you have the stock moto keyboard zip file? Or is that the wrong keyboard?

[Q] Debloated Stock ROM?

Is there just a debloated stock ROM? it can be froyo or GB, i dont care. If it was for my phone i wouldnt care, but this is for my friends phone who works out of town for weeks at a time, and he is not tech savvy at all. So I want it to be stable as possible. I cant seem to find one.
I recommend trying Gingerbread Liberty, Apex, GingerAle, or ZombieStomped.
Roms on the Droid X can't be completely debloated as it causes the phone to bootloop, but these roms are as debloated as possible and are also tweaked for faster performance along with better battery life.

I found this one. I have home on Rubix 2.0 right now, but the camera isnt working and he needs backup assistant. I see with the ROM on the link here i can insert the backupassistant apk back in the ROM before installing it. Could i essentially do that with any other ROM that is made from the same version?
That rom looks great, you should be able to add the backup assistant apk back with no troubles.

the best debloated rom (imho) is the STOCK ALLTEL ROM.
i havent seen anything as clean as it is.
it is froyo but it also can be rooted and you can do what you want after that.
the main problem you might have is making it work on vzw network.
i just use wifi with skype so its great for me.
I played with basically EVERY rom back in the Froyo days and honestly... just having a rooted 2.3.3 stock Gingerbread rom with all the extra crap apps removed or disabled with root explorer is very nice especially for someone who is not tech savvy.
