Does anyone know if there is a setting for Opera 9.5 to force web pages to load or browse as a desktop display? Internet Explorer has a setting that allows you to browse as either a desktop or mobile device.
On Opera, even with "Display - Mobile view" unchecked, some sites, notably CNN and FOX news, automatically redirect to their mobile website. Is there another setting I'm missing or is my Opera not functioning correctly.?
***Figured it out: A speed tweaking cab I installed had a default string in the Custom User Agent that allowed these sites to detect it as a mobile device and redirect. Could not change the string (would automatically default) so I'll probably have to remove the cab.

I have set Skyfire as default browser, but sometimes selecting a website from internet tab opens Skyfire to its front page rather than the intended page, very frustrating. Any fix?
Is it possible to input an Automatic Proxy Configuration URL into the Android web browser? This was possible on the iphone but I don't see such an option in the proxy setting of the browser.
It's irritated me since my HTC Desire but for some reason Google left proxies out of Android. There are some third party applications on the Market that will allow you to do it.
Do you know a good third party application?

Just updated my new Nook ST to 1.1.2. When connecting to my university's WiFi, it brings up a login page in the browser. After logging in, it redirects to the home page of the university's website where there is a Google search box.
Text input and scrolling works except that the browser window closes after about 30 seconds since it's only meant to be a login page.
Is there any way to bring up the keyboard in the 'Google Forgot Password method' secret web browser?
The built in web browser is completely broken when it comes to HTTPS. Try one of the versions of Opera.
