I there a way to speed up the booting up of the Android SD 2.3.2? Maybe by using a different radio or something?

You could get the latest rom here: http://www.htc.com/uk/SupportViewNews.aspx?dl_id=1043&news_id=782 or for T-Mobile here: http://www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade/ and select the HTC HD2. Also you can dual boot your device by download and installing the application in the following thread to your device: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623792. Hope this helps.

Should you ever update software of you windows mobile 7 from zune? Just Curious.

Help Here with previous question.
Also, after activating my windows phone 7 my android disappeared from my SD card.
Also does switching OS from wp7 to android (using dual boot from SD here) after reboot clear the wp7 setting?

probably you got the partitions messed up, recheck the partitioning of your SD card.
don't have WP7 myself so can't help you more than that, sorry.

If you put WP7 on your HD2, then your SD card will be formatted so that's why android disappeared from your SD card. Also settings will not be cleared as long as all files are in there correct directory.

I used the dual booting method everything went well except that when I partitioned the SD card for windows and android the wp7 'about' menu still said it had the total (all) space for itself. Ignoring that I was still able to load the android and install some apps on it. Could activating the wp7 with an activation code be the culprit?

You could try that. Also, you could try a new SD card if anything goes wrong because if it still says it has all the space for itself, then it may overwrite the android files without even asking and corrupting them.

So I went through the process of making my hd2 dual boot wp7 and android cm7 again they both worked at first flawlessly, but it seems that maybe syncing my phone with zune was the problem(not entirely sure). Also I still don't get why my wp7 displays that it has the same amount of space with my total SD card (8GB) space after syncing and before it has only about 15MB total and 10MB used

I remember seeing this about some wp7 builds for the HD2. Its a bug causing it to misread your sd card's space at times. If you want to fix it, I could only recommend a new build until a "fix" may come out for it. Anyways, congrats on your installation.

[Q] Android and WP7 Dual Boot

With the recent developments of Android and WP7 for the HD2, I really can't decide between the two. Will there be an option of dual boot like with WM6.5? I'd love to have this option.
I would definitely love for this to happen, although WP7 is in the lead for me now, booting android once in a while wont be so bad.
i think itz possible in tmobile usa HD2 with itz 1gb ROM ... two partitions using two NAND OS... dual NAND..
I'm very interested in this option. Hopefully this will be available soon.
I hoppe we find a solution for Leo from EU (512Mo).
Like WIN6.5 + Android on SD ?
My favorite way : Android in NAND, WP7 on SD !!
think we should be able to still boot android off sd with magldr... we just need to switch to a different sd card that wasn't used with wp7. I hope its possible. will be trying it soon.
i would love to do this, i have a 124 leo.
F*ck the 512!
Android+WP7 would be sweeeet for 1024!

But since your lazy, yes there is. Its called Titanium backup and it saves all your apps and settings into a file. When you install a new build just recover that file from within Titanium backup and all your apps and stuff will be there.

How would you boot android from nand if you can't access the file system of the SD card?
Its an unknown format and magldr surely won't be able to boot anything from it.
Maybe it works the other way round, though?
Or you could use your phone7 without sd card...
hey that may even work.
Limited storage for phone7 - who cares?

I have already declared in the title dual boot, or have friends do not understand the altar. After the following modifications, select the boot wph start guide wp7, select the boot ad sd sd boot on Android , Android WP7 and dual-boot, the boot options can, without disturbing each other. Start wp7 will not interfere with sd card, wp7 sd card did not even know exist, the question is wp7 little space available, but at least can be used.
Expect experts to address the first time in wp7 can choose to start the occupation of the sd card space, do not fully occupied enough.

Thank DFT ! Because SD Android running well, I have not brush Nand Android, waiting for the arrival of WP7.
Today, DFT has released long-awaited HD2 users WP7, I finally started to brush. Brush some of the altar before the access to the Friends of the experience, that really exclusive WP7 SD card, which can later how to run Android.
I have access to the information carefully and found that the SD card as WP7 only system expansion space, the first start of the SD card partition to use. Therefore, I decided to removed the SD card so reserved for Android use.
PC: Windows 7
HD2: SHPL 2.08
SD: Sandisk 8G c4 (from the phone in the show)
The following is the process of Brush:
1. Three-color screen brush Magldr 112 (all normal, NES Set )
2.Magldr start to select the USB Flasher, PC-side DWI (all normal)
3. Phone reboots directly into the WP7, simple to use, after all the normal (free space 98M)
4. Handset off
5. Insert SD card
6. boot holding down the hold button, enter the Magldr menu
7. Set always shows the menu (to decide, because I want to dual-boot often, so set the boot menu)
8. Set the boot path SD card Android
9. Guide the SD Android, the show finished HTC interface (kernel, Init after) boot into Andoird animation between the phone restart
Episode: I stupid out, SD card, there are a lot of information not backed up, hands and no card reader, can not enter the Andoird, the backup can not, WP7, when not installed into the SD card, do not expect him to. Fortunately, there are menu items that Magldr USB storage (my first use of Magldr), select this option, the memory card sorting.Remove the SD card all the Android-generated directory (the directory is generated Android, do not also delete a Android), re-boot, the first screen to enter Andoird die.
10. Online access to information, Magldr guide SD card Android, need to modify inti.rc.
11. Will system.img (I use the DHD Android) copied to the Linux modified.
In the service ril-daemon / system / bin / rild-l / system / lib / libhtc_ril_wrapper.so append --d / dev/smd0 nand parameters, to support
Nand boot.
12. Returns Android phone, after a successful boot.
Nagging: WP7 egg really hurt, WIFI without any settings, I have been using a static IP, can not be set.

He's dual booting, but none of the SD card space is for WP7. It only has around 100megs left. WP7 automatically RAID0's the whole card with internal memory for space. That's why removing the card screws up WP7 and a hard reset has to be done. I think what would be ideal is if the card could be split into 8gb for WP7 and 8GB for Android, but part of the problem is you can't call HARET.exe or CLRCAD.exe because there is no OS to understand those executables.

WP7 NAND HD2 + Android Boot From SD ?

Hi,
Interested to see if this is possible, Simply because MAGDLR 1.12 has the SD Android boot option BUT NAND flashing of WP7 rom does something ? to the SD card, pretty much leaving the SD card useless unless formatted back to Winmo/Android, BUT the second catch is, if the card is formatted back AFTER WP7 flash, WP7 on HD2, then WP7 doesn't work properly ... A catch 22. Anyway around this, or maybe something I'm missing ?
Working
I got both of them dual booting and working great so far...
1) Do an AD hard reset from MAGLDR boot menu
2) Flash windows nand rom (dont boot)
3)Boot into MAGLDR and connect as USB mass storage
4)Format SD card
5)Put an SD android build onto sd card
6)Go into services, bootsettings, set sd dir to android folder
7)I personally set it to show menu on boot so I could choose which one to boot
7)Reboot in MAGLDR and choose boot ad sd
8) Setup android
9) Reboot and choose WPH
10) setup WP7
Good LUCK!
What about using the SD card still? How much storage do you have when you boot into Android?
EDIT: I tried but when it boots into Android, the whole build is frozen

Correct me if I am wrong, but this leaves only internal storage for WP7. I have a telstra t9193 with 512 or so mb internal. Once it is synced with my exchange and emails, I can't even load a song from zune on my hd2 as there is no space left.
Guess the tmobile hd2 has more space left for apps etc.
I am trying to find a way to resize the wp7 sd card partition but this does not seem easy.
I need a dual partition for my sd card. One for wp7 and one for Android. Unfortunately wp7 seems to take all the sd card except for 200 mb which is too small for an android build.
If anyone has a solution, I would appreciate.
Thanks
It doesn't work. He's just lying.
I attempted those steps and and soon as you setup WP7, the Android folder is all gone.
You have 200mb space which isn't space for a proper Android build. Maybe if we find a hack to increase this size to at least 1 gig then we should be able to do it.

That's what I got too. I even tried putting separate partitions on the sd card (ie. linux swap) to try to fool wp7 into deleting only the fat 32 one but it also did not work.
I have resulted to using 2 sd cards, one for wp7 and one for android. I have to make a holster for them so that I may swap them at will
EDIT: THE CURRENT SD ANDROID BUILDS DO NOT YET WORK WITH WP7 ON NAND - THEY LOAD BUT FREEZE AFTER THE LOCK SCREEN AND ALL YOU GET IS THE WHITE HTC SCREEN.

What works well for holding an extra sd card is to cut a microsd sized piece of foam out of the middle of the foam on the inside of the back cover. If you cut it right so it kinda hugs the sides of of the microsd, it will hold it in place well so you don't have to worry about it falling out when you take the back off.

It pretty much says never use the sd card with wp7 in the first place, however then it can never be used giving very little storage. Also I don't believe that there are any magldr compatible sd builds on xda, though I could be wrong...
Im booting up WP7 without the need for SD card.. Everythings seems working like normal..
And no partition on my SD card.. (My SD card is still clean but still can run..)
Uhh.... Is this normal....? Does this mean I can just copy DL's 2.2 SD Android onto my SD card?
wp7 and android
hi guys if you create two partitions on a 16gb sd card you will have two cards one for wp7 and one for android
how come it says that we need an sd card to run WP7 but you guys says ur running it on the same device with no problems without one. If that was the case then whats with all the insturctions on partitions and things. Also how do you run a Android sd rom from MAGLDR so that I canrun Android on my sd and WP7 On NAND. Thanks

[Q] Moonlight flashing

Hi, I have a question
I have on my Leo DFT's WP7 installed with MAGLDR 1.12
I know that all user data in WP7 is stored on the SD card.
So my question is, what will happen if i flash one of the new custom roms without an SD card and then put it back on ? Will I keep my data ?
Thanks
You will loose all your data and the sd card will be reformatted by the install.
So if everything is working for you with the older DFT release, then you should probably leave it until the update from MS comes and you can back it up using Zune.

second that, as far as i can see there isnt anything on this "new" ROM that you cant get working on the original release so yup, i agree, wait for a major update and backup (hopefully we can) our settings etc
partial reason for this is that WP uses both the SD and the internal memory in a kind of RAID 0, thus you cant just take the SD card out on install and make it work on the new ROM, need to remember that the HD7 doesnt technically have removable media, so your not supposed to remove you SD card

I think you didn't get what I meant
The SD card will not be formatted as it won't be there on 1st boot.
I think that it won't be formatted after cause I did a small test:
I switched off my HD2, withdraw the SD card and switched on the phone. It was back to a stock WP7 as it was when I first flashed it.
Then i switched off the phone, put the SD card back on and booted into WP7. And it kept all my data.
So you don't think it will work the same way with custom roms ?

[Q] WP7 Factory resets every time i power down...

Hey guys!
Here are the events leading to the demise of my perfect dual-boot setup!
1. Installed MAGLDR, WP7 - worked great alone.
2. Setup dual-boot with Cyanogen 7 and worked great. Both are very fast.
3. Contacted Microsoft to get my live activation key. Put it in, now every time i power down my phone and come back into WP7, it is factory reset. Why wont it hold any settings? I have the phone partitioned right, and there are NO problems on the android side. I've searched and searched and can't even find something remotely close.
This might be due to my inability to phrase the scenario right for the search bar.

Maybe, you should just have WP7 alone and then activate it.
Then set-up dual boot. That might work.
Otherwise, you should read through the dual boot thread for any other people with the same problem.

you had the same problem?
Well I just figured out that when I am in WP7, it isn't soft reset like i though - it just isn't recognizing my SD. Says I have 7 MB of memory. :O
Just redid all of the partitioning, reinstalled WP7, reinstalled Android... and STILL after I change the unallocated partition to Primary as directed, when I boot into WP7 it says I have 10mb of memory.
What happened to me
I am still not clear on what is happening to you but here is what I have found. I set up wp7 using my 8 gb card It worked flawlessly. I wanted to dual boot so....half of my 16 gb t-mobile provided sd card became my windows partition and half became a fat partition. excellent life was good. I got sd android and wp7 nand. However, one day from android i selected the reboot option to get back to wp7,,,mistake. I discovered that reboot jacks up the windows side of the card, must write to it during the reboot. lucky for me it was just a matter of recopying the 8gb cards content back to the 16 gb card to get back the data I had there. but a word to the wise, choose shut down not reboot from android on a dual booting wp7 setup.
What happens is things are fine, but android boots fine, but when I boot into WP7 it shows 10 mb of disk space.... not the 8gb i have it set as. Android, however, runs well and shows 8gb.
did you start with a smaller card when you installed wp7? I might be a little behind because I did the install in january but as far as i know you need 2 sd cards to dual boot. I had to use a smaller card to install wp7 then copy the contents to the blank space on the larger card.

I used partitions, not two SD. It is the same principle, though. The WP7 partition is smaller. I just redid everything, and so far it is working Where I think it was getting hung up was in the guide, I was supposed to set the unpartitioned space as Primary instead of Logical. This meant 2 Primaries on the SD.... I skipped this step so I have my Fat32 as Primary and Unpartitioned as Logical. Both WP7 and Android are running well and WP7 saves all settings.... so far.... lol. I'll definitely keep this thread updated. Thanks for the input guys.
I actually think I like the 2 sd card method a little better since it provides a backup if your sd card decides it doesnt love you any more.

all the solutions they gave in the forum didnt work for me, only this worked:
be carefull never do a reset from the about menu cuz this was the reason all my cards got locked <- im on this now for over a week, so believe me i tried everything, but its never useless to try it yourself because in my opinion you cant talk about a general state of cards or wp7 installation.
Reflash everything with your card inside your mobile, i mean start with windows 6.5 then the radio then magldr and then the native rom from yuki,
as it boots up wp7 you should get stuck on the htc screen because your sd is broken, now empty the sd bevor the phone has booted, and enter it in your sd reader, windows should now detect the card.
this only worked for one of my cards. and no its not depending on the brand because i have 2 sandisks and with the 8 gb it worked... with the 2gb it didnt...
but i still couldnt manage it to get to mango.

I had troubles to install WP also, I just tried again today, and I have it now!
I installed it from cabs, following more or less this:
http://www.jayceooi.com/2011/09/16/how-to-install-windows-phone-7-5-mango-7720-on-htc-hd2-video/
I downloaded 7004-7392 and 7392-7720.
I installed in 3 update steps:
1st I installed the ROM,
then 1st update 7004-7392
then I installed all cabs to get to 7661
then I installed all to 7720
Had some troubles, but by keeping trying, I got it
Now I have my red mango!
Even if it is still bugging because of my sd card... Now It freezes 1 second after being loaded.

Had that same issue, just hard reset on magldr (power on, vol up and volume up again) and problem solved.
at the stage of 7.392 to 7403 it gets stuck with me cause of the sd card it wont update and then it gets into a boot loop, its definatly the boot when i need the sd to update, the boot kills my sd and it wont recognize the updates, any trick how to get over that boot which kills the card? any way to get the updates to the card without doing that reboot on wp7
I don't have a solution to the SD unlock, BUT I can tell you that people SAY that if you put the SD in a Nokia device and format it, it will be usable again. I gave myself a serious scare as I thought I had destroyed 2 SD cards, when not even WP7 recognized them, but I found out that if you do a Task 29, install radio 2.15, MAGLDR 1.13, enable 24mb nand and clear SD MBR, then install the ROM again, the phone can read the SD once more, thus meaning it is NOT DESTROYED and salvageable. Hope this was somewhat helpful to anyone else that thought like me he had destroyed his SD!
VERY IMPORTANT: WP7 stops recognizing the cards if you take them OUT of the device, so if you want to save yourself an hour of reflashing DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES pull your SD out. Otherwise you will need to reflash if you want the phone to see the SD again.
EDIT: Read my next post for the solution! Hope this helps
How to format a WP7 secured card
Hey guys,
I have flashed WP7 from initial builds to NODO to Mango so many times that I have lost count...
With NODO I have had success in formatting the card with my Nikon D90.
Cards started to be locked in Mango. The only solution is to format the card with a Nokia C6 or any Nokia with Symbian v8 or above.
I have tried every tool and every tool is dependent on the OS for initial recognition, and OS (Window 7) simply refuses to recognize the "wp7 secured" card.
I managed to salvage my SD card using a SD-adapter and the built-in SD card reader of my netbook... (Android, CWM, and 5 USB card readers didn't work) windows recognized the card as a 200MB card at first (?..)
used SD formatter to restore the original size to 4GB

Oh rly
Because I manaed to reformat my SD WITHOUT ANY CAMERAS OR NOKIAS
All you have to do is use the DEV_UNLOCKSTORAGE.cab and that will unlock your SD which can then be read by your PC and reformatted with SD Formatter 3.0!

I think I realised your problem and I'm sorry. I had missed the part where he says the PHONE can't recognize the card either.
Same thing happened to me, but I just:
1.Ran task29
2.Installed 2.15 Radio
3.Installed magldr 1.13
4.Went into services (WITH MY SD CARD IN MY PHONE) and I picked Clear SD MBR (i don't know if that really helps, but just in case it does)
5.Enabled extra 24mb nand and I flashed the ROM
6.Then I updated to 7720
7.I installed DEV_STORAGELOCK.cab and unlocked my SD, i turned off my phone, I took my SD out and My computer could now read and Format it.
I am truly sorry if this is another "stupid" solution.

So you installed WP7 that locks the card all the way to Mango, installed the DEV_STORAGELOCK to unlock it with a .cab in order to be formatted on your PC? Sure thing, stick with that method, it works...

Are you sarcastic? I mean really are you. Cause I SWEAR it works. The card may be locked, but builds 7004, 7392 can still see it just as well as 7720, but I think you need to be on 7720 in order to use DEV_STORAGELOCK.cab!

Nope, dev_storagelock works on the native build.
Still doesn't help me get my card unlocked though...

Either I'm a lucky mother Effer that this works for me, or you guys do something entirely different. And does the SD brand have anything to say?
