Im on miui and want to go back to cm7. Is there any way my game saves from gameboid can be transferred?
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
If you have the pro version of gameboid it should save on your sdcard. You could also back up gameboids data with titanium backup and restore it on your new rom if you don't have the pro version.

I have the pro version but how do I save it on the sd?

If you're switching roms you'll still have to download titanium backup from the market(free) and back up your gameboid. It will save your data/loading slots so when you switch roms just hit restore. Once you get in cm7 navigate to titanium backup and gameboid should remain the same!

I was wondering how to get my apps I previously downloaded on another ROM to automatically restore with a newly installed ROM? My phone is flashed to cricket so I don't know if that has anything to do with it...Sorry for the dumb question....Thanks in advance

you can use titanium backup to batch restore your apps

That's what im talking about...They don't download for some reason..its weird

Google sync downloads them all. I use adw launcher that allows you to back up app placement on you home screens. Makes it real easy to resetup everything when I flash to a new rom.

Thats odd, have you opened the market to check if its trying to download them? I had I freeze once during sync but I just restarted and them it finished downloading all my apps

The paid version of titanium backup allows one click automated reinstallations of your app backups.

Sorry, I am new and maybe this is a silly question. Can I flash a new rom without loosing my apps and their settings and my games and their saves ? Like backing-up all these.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
If you are rooted use titanium backup from market, but the fact you asked this indicated you need to study more before you start flashing roms
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
hahaha. Thank you very much for your quick answer ! Maybe you are right. The fact is that I already flashed my phone 2-3 times but never interested in backing-up. On the other hand now, I have spent a lot of time with it and I do not want to loose my apps. Is there something specific I should do with titanium back-up ? or I just back-up with this app and then, after I flash, I restore ? ( sorry haven' t used it before )
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Yeah you just backup before flashing, restore after. Bear in mind I don't think it is compatible between cm7/miui and samsung - based roms.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
Well restoring app data can cause problems, but that is depending on what rom you are flashing to and from, and like any app you need to learn to use it I recommend paid version as it allows you to batch restore and backup

thank you slaphead20 and jaju123 very much ! I will try to save anything I can with titanium. flashing is much more important for me.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Some games store their save files on the SD card (data or similar). So if you flash a new ROM, all you need to do is reinstall the game and you can start where you left.
Thank you !
ive never had any problems backing up and restoriing ONLY user downloaded apps between cm7, stock and miui using titanium. the only thing which would cause you problems would be restoring system apps..
if you wish to backup messages also and use them with other firmwares u could also use GoSMS, which has a backup function
Didn't see this question asked in My Touch forum so here goes.
I backed up all my apps with TB and flashed from Energy Rom to Blackwings ICSandwhich. Full wipes and the whole 9. When on BW's ROM I can't get TB to restore apps. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Don't install backups from GB to ICS or vice versa.
It causes problem.

You can restore apps, just not data. Except for ics only apps, don't restore those on a ginger bread rom.

Well, ok, yes. Sorry. I use titanium to restore my data. If I want an app by itself I get it from the market to ensure the latest version. Silly me.

Just trying to get ready. Hoping it will be here next week.

If it is set up to do so, once you enter your Google account credentials it will automatically download your apps to the device. Otherwise you can go into the play store under your apps and download them.

I recommend backing up using Titanium Backup, copy the backup file to the Nexus 7 and restore. This way, your data is also restored. Useful for games or apps that do not have backup capabilities. I.e. Generate data file.

If your titanium backup backups are stored on Google Drive you won't have to transfer any files. If there not then do so now

If you're not rooted you can't backup with titanium and the 1 app at a time is only for restoring with the free version of titanium.

well, that also means we have to be rooted when trying to restore to Nexus7 right?
Yes, Titanium Backup requires root to function in any capacity.
Is there anyway for Titanium Backup Pro (or another Play Store app) to create app+data .apk files that an un-rooted Nexus 7 could install?
ADB backup, perhaps...

download DataSync in the play store...you can transfer apps and data over wifi.
I personally just sync with AppBrain app market. That allows you to automate the process of downloading some what. Not as nice as titanium, buy it is an option that won't force you to root day 1.

There is an app on the market called app2zip which might do what you're looking for. I've used it before to make a zip of Titanium Backup and it worked well. But it hasn't been updated since last year.

Titanium Backup can create an update zip of itself or of all the apps+data that you have backup up.

Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium
Backup your apps & data as usual
Next look under Batch Items - Recovery mode - Create "update.zip" from app+data backups.
Click on Run
You can then give the update.zip a name (or leave it as is) and select which apps to include.
Finally click on the green tick in the top right.

To create an update.zip of just titanium backup, on the front screen of TB press your menu button to bring up the Main Menu.
Scroll to the bottom and find "Special Features". Under that heading click on "Create "update.zip" ..."
Good luck.
