MIUI Help? - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So im using MIUI 1.4.22r1 and I try to customize my home screen and when I try to remove them from the desktop it tells me that it cant be removed? anyone else have this problem? is there is something im missing here?

Is it apps you are trying to remove from the home screens or widgets?
The miui rom doesn't have an app drawer so all the apps collect on the desktop and when you remove the app from the desktop you uninstall it.

If you don't want the apps on the home screen then just create a folder and put the apps in there to reduce clutter or you can use an alternative launcher like adw to get back the app drawer.

[Q] iphone like Launcher for Color Nook

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong area.
I am looking for a launcher that just displays a list of all the applications installed on the NC. I have tried all the usual suspects (LauncherPro, ADW, Zeam, Go Launcher etc) but they all go the desktop first and then you need to open the app drawer to access the shortcuts. I could add shortcuts to the desktop but it does not seem to be a good use of time when the shortcuts to all apps are already there.
It would be nice if the launcher had a dock of favorite apps but not necessary. It would be even nicer if press the Home (N) button in the launcher displayed a list of running programs.
In summary, the launcher should work like the Home screen on iOS.
Any suggestions? Be nice now ;-)
Thanks
Have you tried the MIUI roms yet? They are basically designed to look like the iPhone design. If your just wanting a different home replacement then I always liked the Zeam Launcher because you could add like 4-5 shortcuts to the dock bar...hopefully this helps..

Thanks for the suggestion
I don't really want to try a non-standard ROM at the moment. I did try some of the MIUI themes for ADW and other launchers but all the themes really do is change the icons. That is, the functionality of the launcher does not change. The default screen for the launcher is the desktop and you have to add shortcuts to the desktop.
I might try loading a MIUI ROM on a bootable SD card and see how that works.
Thanks again

I haven't tried it...possibly get a key remapper. I think one of the launchers has one for the home key...see if this will work...

search background from apps screen

I saerch the screen background image file from apps. in which. apk is splashing around and how they say?
many thanks
I'm not sure what you're trying to ask.
Do you want to know where you can modify the background of the app drawer?
If that's your question, use go launcher, i think you can change the background somewhere there but not in launcher pro or ADW.
Altough i believe ADW has an option to set the app drawer to be transparent so you can partially see your homescreen.

[Q] Change icon order

Hello.
I have Nexus 7 with Android 4.1.2. How to change icon (applications) order in Applications tab? If I hold the icon I can only drop in into desktop or uninstall but I can't move it in another place.
Best regards
Some non-stock launchers have options for the App drawer. You might check out Nova, Apex, Go, Trebuchet, etc. in Play Store or their individual websites. I don't know one specifically that offers what you want, but it wouldn't hurt to check them out. Is it really a problem to find an app sorted alphabetically in the App drawer.
Stock launcher doesn't let you do it. You could try something like Nova Launcher Prime. That allows allows you to hide the ones you don't want to see.

apps menu

Is their anyway to change from having apps on main screen and having to slid across to browse apps installed. Is their a way to make a apps button and then go into this and browse though apps and have shortcuts to them on home screen instead of just having to slid and swipe though screens?

Install other launchers that support app drawer. To name few Nova Launcher, Apex Launcher, etc..

As amageek pointed out, you have to install a 3rd party launcher software to get the desired layout, you mentioned.
By personal experience, I recommend Nova. I bought the Prime version(there is a free version as well), wich removes all sorts of ADs, give some extra functionality, and makes the phone a bit more like an AOSP ROM, at least launcher-wise.
An other solution is to make folders in the Huawei Launcher, which almost works as the app drawer in any launcher. The back-side of this is, that you have to make it manually to fit your needs.
