So i wake up this morning and decide to check my email. So i turn on my wifi. When i came back to check it the wifi wasn't turn on. I tried again to turn in on but it says "Unable to scan for network"
It was working perfectly fine last night.
I already tried to restarted by holding the power button and pressing restart and by taking the battery out, but it still keeps saying "unable to scan for network"
oh and I'm running a completely stocked phone.
Could my wifi chip just crapped out on me ?
Restart your phone again and restart your modem/WiFi router. See if works after that. Do the modem and router first before you restart your phone. Disable WiFi on your phone before rebooting.
I tried that also but no luck.
When i try turning the wifi on and after it gives me the message the wifi turns its-self back off.
Same thing happens when trying to make a hotspot.
Anybody ??????
try restore factory settings
So i did a factory reset on the phone and still no luck.
My wifi still doesn't turn on at all.

So, my brother and I have been running MoDaCo 1.1 core for a couple days now.
My phone has stopped connecting to the mobile network. All it says when I try to connect is "Standby for connecting to mobile network" with a green checkbox. I also notice now when I select the checkbox to connect it turns green instantly and shows that standby message. Before it would take a couple seconds to connect and turn green.
I have tried changing the mode of operation and it still doesn't want to connect. There is no 1x or EVDO in the notification bar. Wifi and GPS still work fine.
My brother's phone is still working fine. I have no idea what the problem can be.
Anybody else having this problem with MoDaCo 1.1?
I think that it has something to do with airplane mode. I enabled airplane mode yesterday, then turned it off. I didn't realize my data wasn't working after that since I don't use it while I'm at home. I am not sure if that is exactly the problem, just trying to think about how it could have stopped working.
I've noticed mine will do this at random on the MoDaCo 1.1 ROM. Every now and then I'll look at my phone and realize my EV symbol at the top is gone and I have no network connection. When this happens both the option in Settings and the small on/off widget on one of my home screens say it's still turned on. If I turn it off and back on, then I just get the "Standby for connecting to mobile network" message too. The only way I've found to get it to work again is to reboot the phone.
FYI this same problem happens to me with the stock ROM, even when it wasn't rooted. I've noticed it only happens when you turn airplane mode on, and then off.
Hmmm...I never touch airplane mode and I never saw this happen once in the month that I had the phone with the stock ROM. Maybe my problem is unrelated then.
Even when I reboot my phone it still doesn't work. I have tried messing around with the widgets turning things on and off multiple times and still nothing can get it working again.
I just went back to an old nandroid backup from before I put MoDaCo 1.1 on the phone and it seems to be working again. I'm going to put 1.1 on again. I'll use it for a while and try to recreate the problem to figure out exactly what it is.
Sprint/HTC has to fix that. it's a bug.
Hi guys,
On my xperia x10i wifi refuses to turn on, when I click on Turn WiFi in the settings menu, it says "Turning on" and stays like that forever.
I've tried full reboot, removing battery, didn't help.
Apart from factory reset is there any suggestions as to how to resolve this?
Thanks
I get that problem too.. so what I do is basically select the router I'm trying to connect to and then select forget. And then it searches for all the ones in my area, and I click on it and press connect. Enter my password again, and it works. I don't know why it takes forever when you just turn it on, it pisses me off sometimes lol. But doing this works for me
Thanks
The problem in my case is not that the phone doesn't connect to some router. I can't even turn the wifi on, this is where it get stuck.

Hi.
Now, this is not happening all the time... only if the kindle is not used for awhile.
wifi is turned on and i'm having some fun... i put it away for 1hr, when i come back the wifi can't turn on, i swipe the button to ON and it just sits there the wifi does not see any routers. I do a restart and the wifi turns on and connects in a giffie.
i thought for sure it was the kindle fire Stock software failing, but after flashing CM7, it still does this, only at least 1hr after screen shuts down. any ideas? anyone having the same problem?
could this be a hardware problem?
Thanks!

so your's only gets stuck on ICS, not on any other ROM ?
Wifi keeps turning on and off for some reason! I have tried turning Wifi off then back on but nothing changes. I restarted the phone but again, nothing. did a factory reset, again nothing changed. I wonder if this is software related or I have a defective device. does anyone else have this problem? here is a video showing the problem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LFYZbuSkAs
Maybe it's your wifi router. Try connecting to a different wifi some where, hang out there for an hour or 2. If it doesn't happen it must be something with your router.
I had problems with my wifi not turning on when I slide the button across it instantly goes back and says turning on but stays like that so I did a factory reset and my wifi is still the same and I need to connect to get pass the factory reset protection
Okay I turned on my data and got into the phone but I still can not turn my wifi on
