The G2 sucks! Why does the Desire Z get "Sense" and a "frontfacing camera"... g2 to desire z= hd2 to Evo

Nice opinion... here's mine, since we're sharing:
Sense sucks. Ffc is nearly useless.
IMHO FWIW

threads like these make me wish i was a moderator.... seriously, like comon you are talking about Z having a sense? you DO know that once root is accomplished, it would be super easy to load custom roms on the G2 right... and i;m pretty sure devs would work one up with sense.
and as far as ffc is concerend... the desire Z doesnt have one.... correct me if I'm wrong

yup, he sure did a fail rant lol.
You do know that once the G2 gets nand unlocked we will be able to install Sense onto it right...And like the people above me said, the Desire Z does not have a front facing camera, sigh.

I'd much rather have vanilla android anyway. It should make getting gingerbread a smidge faster. I want that so bad, I don't care if it's a big nothing. It's the wait that's killing me.

I am sorry to break this to you but ginergerbread is mostly concentrated on UI changes like colors.... its going to be green instead of yellow for status bars and all. Also, they are concentrating on integrated video calling (hence FFC stuff) and better usability for tablets...

I know, but I'm kinda hoping to be surprised. And the sooner it comes out, perhaps the sooner we get permanant root.

FFC? Who cares? How many of your friends REALLY have a phone with an FFC? Okay, maybe all of one or two if one happens to have an Evo and another happens to have an iPhone 4. And you're really inclined to call either of these people versus texting them? Right. And since you're so inclined, now you really have to use up your strength to hold your phone a foot away from your body in order for the camera to get your whole face in the camera for the entire conversation?
If you answered yes to all these questions, you are in a very small, small minority.

And you are sending this retarded post from your Nexus One which has neither Sense nor a front facing camera. Personally, I don't need a ffc, I have an iPod Touch 4g if I ever really need to see the person on the other end. Don't need Sense either, already have Launcher Pro and Beautiful Widgets and Weather/Toggle Widget from the market. I can customize my G2 a different way for every day of the year. Sense sucks.
As much as I hate to make unneeded posts ...

Not too sure the of release date, I've looked around but can't seem to find much. Its exciting to at least see it on our devices from the video!
Looks very nice! But it probably will drain a lot of battery :s
I won't get it if it costs
I used it on WinMo before and it's nice, but it sounds like they're now selling OEM version to phone manufacturer only....

So it is, the new Sense UI 4.0 has apparently been leaked to a select few, right before the HTC Ville release next month I guess, and for all you Sense fans, here's where you can let your imagination run wild.
Basically, just write what you think the 4.0 will bring to our phones, will it be an improvement or not and in what way.
(Sense 4A is a light version of sense, no 3D effects and plenty of other small things missing from the full Sense.)
Before you get your hopes up too high, read this first:
http://pocketnow.com/android/htc-sense-40-first-impressions
Here are the reviews of the Sense 4 devices:

Yeah I guess that is one of the major implementations compared to previous versions. Remember, that's just a quick look at it and once released it's bound to have a ton of new functions. I personally like the dropbox integration and the new email client.

It's like setting up Guest account on your computer. Basically you use that when you want to show your phone to others and don't want em to see your private files etc.

Would be great if vertical scrolling in app drawer is included as well... having 200+ apps and having to scroll page by page is really troublesome

the 50GB from dropbox will be granted to anyone logging into his account on a device with sense 4?(like the DHD with sense 4 when there will be a normal ROM with it)

I have been see the sense look from version 2 to version 4, it look same, only the animation is different.. now if the latest sense look like that, it look like another common android phone.. no exclusive about HTC on it..
That's just my opinion by the way..

There was a lot more different from 2.1 to 4.0 than the animation (5 icon dock for one). Sense 5.0 doesn't look like anything else so that is kinda the definition of exclusive lol. But you're entitled to your opinion. It makes me drool lol.
I saw this on the unlocked.com today. Feb 19! http://theunlockr.com/2013/01/29/ht...-next-big-thing-ahead-of-mwc-on-february-19th

If it's true, looks like the plastic on the sides might be gone - I'd be really happy with that, that's the one thing about the current One that I don't really like.
Also, what do you reckon that hole at the top could be for (on the back)? The article thinks it might be a finger print reader. I really hope it's not, it also says the leakster says it's a second camera...why would you need a second camera on the back?

Same phone? Spec bump?
They completely changed the design of the phone's sides and probably length/width
They have included some unkown extra device on the back, probably a 3d camera or finderprint reader.
Looks like a blue color will be included at launch
Probably more unknown goodies
And yes, of course a spec bump.

It's just that the design looks similar to the HTC One but I don't doubt HTC cause they make handsome looking phones. And let's hope that the goodies is as good as when they launch the One.
