New here, yes I did look around. Found lots of other good info, but not this. If I missed it, feel free to remove my man card. I just got a nook color for x-mas yay me. I have followed two guides:
Well I tried to post two links but that wont work. I understand. Anyway, one guide is called How to Install CyanogenMod 7 on the Nook Color (PC Version), found it on Youtube. Other is called How to: Root a Nook Color, install CyanogenMod 7, and overclock it off of icrontic.com Hope that helps.
I am using at 8gb version to write to SD card. I copy both files over without un-ziping them. Follow all directions. However nook will not boot into Cyanogen. I just get the normal nook boot up. I have tried several times. I am new to the whole rooting thing and have seen people post different versions of the same file. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.
Lastly,
Nook firmware: 1.3
Not using a Scan Disk SD card.
I assume you want to enjoy the beauty of CM7.
Before guiding you, a very first basic question needs to be asked: do you want/intend to run CM7 on eMMC or off the uSD?
I assume you want to enjoy the beauty of CM7.
Before guiding you, a very first basic question needs to be asked: do you want/intend to run CM7 on eMMC or off the uSD?
Well I didn't know there were other options other than CM7. I have also been told that is one is the best all around one out there. You will have to excuse my ignorance but what is eMMC and uSD?
Don't worry, we all learn something day to day.
CM7 is a custom ROM (or OS if you want to call it), which replaced the stock OS by many of us. It is one of the most used ROM out there for NC (short cut for NOOKcolor)
In order to run/use CM7 on the NC, there are 2 choices:
1. Installing and running it (CM7) from the internal memory (a.k.a. eMMC) or
2. Booting and running it (CM7) from the external uSD card
You can spend the whole day searching for the difference in details, here, I just give you some quick thinking of the 2.
Running from eMMC = more complicate installation process, smooth performance, a lot less FC's (Force Close = applications hung), easy to backup, more storage. But you will void the B&N warranty since you delete their original stock OS.
Booting off uSD is a quick way to explore the beauty of CM7 or any custom ROM WITHOUT effecting the stock OS, meaning still under warranty. Down side is you need to have a 8GB or 16GB Sandisk class 4, which probably costs about $20 (onsale for 16GB).
Ok does it have to be a Scandisk sd card? I thought loading CM7 via SD card removed the warranty also. A side question I have. I saw on youtube someone was able to "dual boot" the nook OS with the CM7 OS. They could swap back and forth, any idea what this is about? Sorry I don't have much more information on it than that.
If loading through SD card does not void warranty I would prefer that for the time being until I get the hang of this stuff more. Then again a fully rooted nook is basically a android tablet+nook. The only reason I would want the warranty is if something inside were to break.
Would the reason why my attempt didn't work be related to the fact that I didn't have a Scandisk SD card?

No, it does not have to be a Sandisk but Sandisk (class 4) is the best (have been tested) on the market. You can use any other brands, it might work and might not. Therefore, if you intend to run CM7 off uSD, Sandisk is strongly RECOMMENDED. If you use the uSD as an additional storage, any brand is OK.

No, it does not. Running off uSD has zero effect on stock OS.

A lot of people mistype or mis-use the term "dual-boot"
AFAIK, there is 2 kinds of "dual-boot" (one of them is incorrectedly used)
a. Leaving stock OS on eMMC and booting CM7 off uSD.
b. Installing 2 different ROMs on eMMC.
I personally choose to say b. should be called "dual-boot", not a. but a lot of people calling a. as "dual-boot". I don't mind.
What your question is for item a.
All you have to do is during powering up, press and hold the "N" button then select booting Normal, it will boot into whatever on the eMMC (i.e. stock OS) even having CM7 uSD plugged in.
If loading through SD card does not void warranty I would prefer that for the time being until I get the hang of this stuff more. Then again a fully rooted nook is basically a android tablet+nook. The only reason I would want the warranty is if something inside were to break.

Note: recommend getting the Sandisk class 4.

I don't know what you're doing so can't say.
What have you done?
Ok sorry it took me a little bit to get back to you guys. I work the night shift so it can be a pain and make you seem like a ghost.
So I downloaded a file called 8gb_clockwork-0.7. Used a program called Win32 Diskmanager to write that file to the SD card. I have an 8gb SD card. Not Scandisk.
I then copied over two file that are .zip files. I did not un-zip them. Files are gapps-gb-20110307-signed and update-cm-7.0.3-encore-signed.
I am using my phone as a micro SD card reader. Could that be causing issues?
Everything I read said to do what I just said/did. I then pop in the SD card into the nook. My nook then boots up normally, I.E. standard nook OS.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
Again, it goes back to my question in post #2.
Before getting an answer from you, I cannot provide any more help.
In fact, I don't want to guide you through the wrong direction.
I would like to run it off of the USB drive until I get familiar with it. Just in case I do not like it. As this is my first time rooting something I would like to keep my options open.

I assume you meant to run CM7 off uSD (you said USB drive???)
Anyway, if that's the case, what you have done was incorrect.
Forget about it, start over again.
With your not Sandisk uSD card, I wouldn't recommend but if you have to use it, then go with it for now.
1. download "win32diskimager" (I hope you already it)
2. download the "Size-agnostic SD" v1.3 imager from this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1000957
3. try this ROM (build 12122011) as many others like it from this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1344873
4. download this GApp (20110828) for CM7 from this link: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Latest_Version
5. try to follow verygreen's instructions from the link that I posted in step 2.
If you not able to or hitting issue, get back here for more help
Will do. Thanks again for all the help. Also yes I did mean uSD :/ I will try this Wednesday during the day and get back to you as I am about to start another shift.
Is there a dummies guide to creating a bootable sd card for the Nook? I'm trying to follow the instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1030227&page=61
but I can't seem to get the Nook to recognize the card. My goal is to root my Nook 1.3 so I can use the Amazon App Store. If there is an easier method I would love to give it a try.
Check out the guide in my sig.

I used this 5 part series youtube videos as a reference when I did my first CM7 install to run from SD. For me at least it is a lot easier to understand the process when I can see it.

Thanks for the reply. The instructions were basically what I followed but they do not explain how to make the SD card bootable.
Thanks Imbroglio I'll check out the videos.
My issue was my internal card reader was being viewed as a floppy drive...had to use a USB card reader.

You just plug your SD card into your computer open up WIN32DISKIMAGER as admin, select the drive letter of your SD card, select the image you have to burn, now click burn image. Then pop it into your Nook and bam.
Sent from space
The image makes the card bootable. You don't have to do anything else after the image is successfully loaded to the card.
1. download Win32DiskImager (older version preferred, r15 or something)
2. download CwM R (either 3.0.2.8 or newest 3.2.0.1 depends on your system)
3. execute the Win32DiskImager
4. Browse to select the drive (uSD) and the image file (step 2 above) then click Write.
Done.

I'm guessing this is my issue. I'm using a cheap micro sd to usb adapter. I did the same steps the others have mentioned. Seems like it should be pretty self explanatory. I'll try picking up a card reader.
Success! I had the wrong Win32diskimager zip file. (I tried both). With the help of Youtube I got the correct version and am all set. I appreciate the help and patience.

Great to hear you got it going. These folks are a LOT of help.
When I first started I had the same problems with getting IMG files correctly to the card.
Hi, guys. I need some help, if possible. I ordered a A500 as a gift for my dad from TechForLess. It was shipped to me with 3.0.1 demo firmware...which is essentially unusable. When I reset, it just comes back.
I did a search and other people have had this issue. They flashed a ROM using Micro SD. I tried that, but it doesn't appear that my unit is recognizing the card in the MicroSD card reader.
I'm getting a refund, but they're letting me keep the unit, and I'm trying to get it up and running for my dad for Father's day.
How can I flash a ROM (any working ROM) on this unit, not using MicroSD? For what it's worth, my computer recognizes the unit, so if there's a way to do that, it might work.
I'm new to all of this. Can anyone help?
Thanks!

Yeah Baby, we can help!!!!
It all depends on what you want to do.
a. Do you want to keep it stock (factory). This is ok with warranty, but seeings it's a demo model, I would guess it doesn't come with much of a warranty. Not to mention a demo model is as useless as teats on a boar hog. So skip to step c.
b. You wanna make it rock? For the best reliabilty and functional use, you're going to have to root. With the OS you have, it's darn simple. Just access the android market, and download acer recovery installer to the tab.
Wait, you're not finished.
Now you should look here;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1205204&highlight=iconiaroot
Then you can run AcerRecovery and install a custom HC based rom.
c. You want to run a stock update for the tab.
Now, you can't just put any old rom on the tab's sd card, and expect it to install. It doesn't work like that. First, the rom you install, has to be named "update.zip", and it should be a full rom update install. Not a patched one.
Also, the procedure to install, requires some buttons to be held. Most importantly, Holding Vol+ and the PWR button. This forces the tab to look for the update.zip on the Ext SD card.
You need to go here;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113878
Grab a full update (you might need to decrypt it to pull the update. I would take a ComGen1. (after decrypt, open in 7zip, not extract)
Copy the update.zip to your Ext SD card, and do the step above to boot. This should install a stock full rom to the tab off the SD card.
Not many people get 3.0.1 tabs these days.....

Thanks-- but it's not reading my SD card, so I think the reader might not be working. I'm not worried about that for my dad, but I need a way to get a working ROM on there that doesn't involve the SD card reader. I'm hoping that's one of your tricks!
Your tablet comes with a built in SD card (basically the memory you have on your tablet) 8 gb or 16 gb I've flashed mods through the built in SD card but I've never tried a from so I can't speak on that but I think you will be able to if you just download the rom and try to flash it but I'm not 100% sure so wait for someone to let you know but that that's just an idea to throw at you.

If I can get it going with a normal ROM, it's a win. If not, it's a huge pain in the ass. The SD card not mounting is killing me! There HAS to be a way... Right?
Well, I managed to get it rooted without using an SD card. Then I installed Acer Recover, but it's still looking to install an update from the SD card, which it can't see. When I go into Clockwork recovery and try to flash that way, it finds an update.zip at /SDcard/update.zip. I thought if I could replace that file, it could do the trick...but I can't find it using my computer.
This is driving me insane? Any other thoughts for how I can do this without a working SD card reader in the tablet?

I did get rooted. So, in cwm, I can mount a USB stick, and then run the update from there? If so, that would do the trick. Just need a stick.
Would that work?

Yes. In CWM you will have to mount the USB stick though. Then you can flash from the stick drive. (not capable in the original version of CWM)
I also remember Thor at one time, made it possible to flash from internal memory, but not sure If I remember correctly.
I would suspect after you get running again with a real rom, your SD card will probably start working again. They may have it disabled for demo purposes.
I would just install one of the 3.2.1 customs instead of messing with the update.zip. They were designed to run from SD card. Till you get that issue fixed, I would run custom. You can get a stock rooted 3.2.1 in the dev forum.
Format your Ext SD to FAT32 on your pc after you get up and running.
MD
EDIT: One more thing. "IF" you install a plain STOCK 3.2+ rom, (a non-pre rooted stock rom) you will lose your CWM recovery and root. And the process to "roll-back" is a bit of a pain. Not impossible, just more steps again.
I need a stick to give it a shot, but fingers are crossed. Appreciate the help. I'll report back....

I believe in the newer CWM, you have to mount the USB in Mounts and Storage. Basically I think it switches between EXT SD and USB Storage. Never used it myself, but the option is there.
Also, you can install a zip from internal memory as well in the newer versions of CWM.
MD
In this version, I have the option to mount USB...I'm hoping that does the trick...because it was tough enough to find a root method that didn't involve the MicroSD slot.

Many users have had difficulty installing the HD+ CM10/10.1 ROMs using the Original/Legacy (verygreen) SD setup (especially Windows users). I have written this guide and have made some tools that should make it easier. No need for ADB or Linux. I have upgraded the CWM (clockworkmod) recovery to version 6.0.2.8 which includes larger fonts, a brighter screen and the ability to use the internal storage for installing zips and performing backups. It also uses verygreen's process from his early4 zip that aligns partitions at 2M. This guide and tools are for the Original/Legacy SD setup by verygreen, not the Hybrid. If you want the Hybrid, go here.
Setting up the SD
Begin by downloading the files you need either with stock or your PC. You will need my updated SD image file, attached below (do not use the early4 image from the verygreen thread), the CM ROM zip you want to install and the gapps zip to match it. Put the last two zips on your internal media sdcard built into the HD+. You can get the HD+ CM10 ROMs here and the HD+ CM10.1 ROMs here. You can get the gapps zips here, 20121011 for CM10 and 20130301 for CM10.1.
Extract the SD image zip and you will have a 117MB .img file. Burn that to your SD with Win32DiskImager in Windows or the dd command in Linux or OSX. The SD needs to be at least 4GB and preferably a SanDisk Class 4.
To use Win32DiskImager, find it on the web (here, it's free) and install it on your Windows PC. Open it (be sure to run it as administrator) and select the drive (device) that has your card reader with your SD inserted. Then in the image file box put the location where you have the extracted img file. Then when everything is set right, click on the write button. A warning will pop up asking if you want to proceed. When you have verified that you are going to write to the correct device, click on Yes. (One user overwrote their external USB hard drive by not verifying first.) If you get an error message about access denied, it means you are looking at the drive with Windows Explorer. Close Windows Explorer and try again. In fact, it is a good idea to close all unnecessary windows when burning, even your browser.
When burning is complete, insert the SD into the Nook and boot. It should boot to the cyanoboot logo and sit there for a little while while it creates the other partitions on the SD and formats CM10SDCARD. Then it will end up in CWM for HD+ Original SD. If it does not leave the cyanoboot logo within a reasonable time (it hangs sometimes), just touch the power key and CWM should come up. To use CWM, press the volume up/down keys to move the cursor and the n key to select an item. The power key is the back button.
Installing ROMs
You can use the "install zip from SD/choose zip from internal memory" option to flash the CM ROM you downloaded earlier to your internal memory sdcard. Then you can flash the right version of gapps to match your ROM.
When you reboot (you need to leave the SD in the slot), the CM ROM should start. You will need to register with Google to set up Play Store.
If you later want to upgrade your ROM to another build, download it to your CM10SDCARD partition using CM. Then boot to CWM and flash it.
Backing Up
This version of CWM lets you back up and restore your setup. You can even back up to internal memory. It does not back up /boot, but does back up /system, /data and /cache.
Swapping EMMC and SDCARD
Some users have installed CM to a small SD card and want their apps to use the large internal media storage to store their data. I have developed a couple of zips to swap EMMC and SDCARD when booted to CM so that internal memory is available to your apps to store their files. One zip will add the swap and one will remove it. Get them attached below.
These zips can be flashed with CWM but will only install to the Original SD with CM. I just fixed a bug in the rev0 and rev1 zips. If you already flashed rev0 or rev1, you need to flash the remove zip before you flash the rev2 fixed version. No need to boot in between.
With rev2, both SDCARD and EMMC will show internal media storage, as will both MTP folders. A new folder, ext_sdcard, will show the external SD media partition.
Updating earlier versions of CWM
Updating prior installs of the Original SD installation to this new version of CWM is easy. Just download the ramdisk zip file attached below and extract the file. Put your old SD setup in your PC and rename the ramdisk.cwm to ramdisk.cwm.bak. Then copy the new ramdisk.cwm you just extracted to the card, replacing the version that was there. Next time you boot to CWM, the 6.0.2.8 version for HD+ Original SD will be there.

question...
Sorry if this has been answered somewhere else but, I did this using a 32gb card and everything I running smooth. I have a 64gb card that I want to switch it out for. I know it won't be a problem doing the root and all of that again, but I was wondering if anybody knows how to change the 32gb SD card back to normal? When I stick it in my computer all it shows is the boot partition and when I try to format it, it only formats that's partition. Meaning that my 32gb card turns into a worthless 116 mb card. I've tried on windows and Ubuntu and get the same results...
So does anybody have any suggestion?

This is probably a stupid question, but once I've got the SD card set up properly, can I then go ahead and delete the ZIP files that I've installed? Or do I need to keep them kicking around? Figure if I can free up some space, I should.

You can delete them if you want, but I usually always keep them somewhere so I don't have to redownload them if I need to reflash, which very oftern I have to for various reasons. I can always delete them later if space becomes an issue.

*nod* I meant deleting them off the SD card (should have specified). I'd be keeping them on my fileserver to ensure that I can reflash the sdcard to the same version I started with if I need to.

Setting up the SD
Begin by downloading the files you need either with stock or your PC. You will need my updated SD image file, attached below, the CM ROM zip you want to install and the gapps zip to match it. Put the last two zips on your internal media sdcard.

I'm confused by this, what are you referring to as "internal media sdcard"? I used win32 to burn the .img file, then booted into CWM...I'm clearly doing this wrong, because after that, the sdcard only has 117mb and no room to put ROMs on

You are doing it right. 117MB is what it is supposed to have. You do not put the files on that card. You put them on the HD+ (on the internal sdcard).
If you could see that it only had 117 MB, you were not booted to CWM, you were looking at the SD while it was still inserted in the PC. Booted to CWM means it is in the Nook.
When you insert the burned SD into the powered off HD+, then turn it on, it boots to CWM. That is what I mean by booting to CWM.
The internal sdcard means the storage that is built into the HD+ (that is why I call it internal). Boot to stock and download the files with it. They get put on the internal sdcard or "sdcard" as it is called. After you insert the burned card into the HD+ and boot to it, CWM has the ability to flash the zips by reading them from the internal sdcard built into the HD+.
Edit: I just clarified that in the OP. It is hard to anticipate how users will interpret your words in advance.

i dont seem to understand what file is supposed to amount to about 120mb. i extract "cm-10-20121231-UNOFFICIAL-ovation" and amounts to more than 200mb's but it also replaces other files.

You do not extract the cm zip. You extract the image zip which is attached to the post. It is the one that is 120 MB and is the one you burn to the SD with win32diskimager.

thank you for the help. i appreciate it! i can now use my new HD+ (bought it last night) to its full potential.
I just wanted to say that I was suffering from the dreaded "Nook refuses to boot from the SD card" syndrome. I tried three different SD cards burned using four different computers, to no avail. Tried this patch? Worked perfectly. Thanks!
SDXC cards viable for this use?
Well, that registration video was a real interesting bit compared to most forums I've ever used. Somebody put a lot of work into that.
I'm noticing a lot of emphasis on Class 4 cards. Impetuous sort that I am, I already obtained a Sandisk Ultra 64 GB microSDXC (Class 10/UHS 1) card for this project. Best Buy had a good deal and I was hoping to have a lot of room to work with and it wasn't clear what access to the internal storage would be available or best left alone. Has anyone had success or great problems with this card?
Other than that issue before attempting to execute the install, this is a very helpful thread. Much clearer than verygreen's original. That shouldn't be taken as an insult to verygreen as technical writing for those outside a project is not a skill everyone has or should have. Asking those deep within a project to shift mental gears to operate at the outsider's level can be a waste of resources and is often better delegated to a specialist. And we should be thankful for those specialists when they volunteer like this.

Some have had good success with that card, especially if they use my Hybrid setup which uses less of the SD to operate from.

It appears to be working on the first try. I'm currently syncing my app set from the Play store. It looks like this will be a huge value add for the Nook. I wouldn't have bought it if the full Android option weren't there. I just hope enough of us still buy books from B&N to keep them going.
Thanks.
I've tried to do a search for this but can't find it. I'm such a complete novice I may have run across it and not even known I did. I tried to make a bootable SD to be able to use the google app store. I've seen so many instructions now I don't even know where the first one I used is. I think I used CM7 (my Nook Color is version 1.4.1...don't know if that matters). So far, nothing I've done has added the shopping cart but first things first.
Evidently I must have really screwed things up because the cyanogenmod is now on my nook instead of the SD card (which explains why I had so many problems when I tried to redo it). The first thread I found doing a google search was this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=931720&highlight=restore+to+stock.
After reading through it on the last page someone posted that it was a very old thread and to go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25354258#post25354258 and go down to 15A. But, having the technical skills of a pencil eraser, I can't even figure out which software to download, let alone how to accomplish the restoration. I actually managed to jailbreak my iphone but that was just a matter of downloading software and running it. This doesn't appear to be as simple.
I did manage to find all the files required by the first thread to do the restore, but then I got to this: Select "Restore virtual hard disk image" from the "Disk" menu. My winimage doesn't say that. I am using a new SD card so perhaps that's why. It's at that point that I read all the way through the thread to discover that method? or the firmware? was obsolete.
All I really want is to know which file(s) to download and, if possible, a link to instructions a 5 year old could follow. If I knew a 6th grader I'd just ask them because I'm pretty sure this is hard wired into their DNA. I'm 53 so that's probably half my problem. I can usually figure these things out but this has me completely stumped.
Thanks so much for your time.
You probably used ROM Manager and told it to install CWM and update to a new ROM. The problem is, ROM Manager only works on internal memory installations, not SD installations, so it installed CM to internal memory.
Don't use that old thread to flash stock back on to internal memory, even if you did find the files.
And age is not an excuse for not learning, I'm 68.
Go to my thread referenced above and download the stock 1.4.3 zip file from A15. It is linked in the text of A15.
Make a bootable CWM SD. Use that to flash the stock ROM. Download the file CWM-6.0.1.2-bootable_SD.zip and extract it somewhere on your PC. You should end up with approximately a 300MB .img file. Burn that image to your SD using Win32diskimager per the directions quoted here:
To use Win32DiskImager, find it on the web (here, it's free) and install it on your Windows PC. Open it (be sure to run it as administrator) and select the drive (device) that has your card reader with your SD inserted. Then in the image file box put the location where you have the extracted img file. Then when everything is set right, click on the write button. A warning will pop up asking if you want to proceed. When you have verified that you are going to write to the correct device, click on Yes. (One user overwrote their external USB hard drive by not verifying first). If you get an error message about access denied, it means you are looking at the drive with Windows Explorer. Close Windows Explorer and try again. In fact, it is a good idea to close all unnecessary windows when burning, even your browser.

Once the SD is burned, temporarily remove the SD from the PC and then reinsert in your PC. Then copy the Stock zip you downloaded earlier to the SD. Insert the SD into your Nook and boot. Once CWM appears, use the volume up/down keys to move the cursor and highlight "Install zip from SD". Then use the n key to activate it. Select the zip you copied to the SD. Go ahead and flash it.
When it is complete, take the SD out and boot. It should boot to stock.

Thank you, I'll try again! It's not that I don't want to learn. I'm asking because I trying to learn. I think I've probably confused myself by reading too much on too many websites and it takes me a little while to figure out technical things. I do appreciate the help. I probably just need to take some deep breaths and clear my brain so I can start over. I just want to make sure I don't really mess it up to the point it's completely unrepairable.

Notice I changed which CWM you should download. Use 6.0.1.2, it works better for stock.

Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you!!! It works perfectly!
Sorry to be a bother, I don't know whether this is related. Everything loaded perfectly and it looks just as it did when I first turned it on but now every time I try to use the keyboard, it pops up for probably less than a second and then goes back down. I've tried to "catch" it to see if I could get a letter/digit each time to try and put in but it just goes up and down, up and down. I tried doing the set up with the boot disk in because I know nook reads the sd card first but that didn't help.
However, the version I originally had on the nook color was 1.4.1. Would it make a difference if I used the 1.4.3 instead?
Thanks

Did you follow the instructions in the thread where you were supposed to flash a format zip? I forgot to add that in the above instructions. It is not to late to do it. Boot to CWM and flash the format zip and boot back to stock and re-register again. That may be the cause of the keyboard problem.
And being 1.4.3 should make no difference.

Yes. Installed that as well. However, I did notice when I put the sd card in my computer a few times windows said "disk might be corrupt do you want to continue?" So that might be the problem. I'll go into town tomorrow and get a new one to see if that makes a difference.
Well, I got a new SD card and it's still doing the same thing, the keyboard just goes up and down, up and down so I don't know what to do now.
Cindie
fix it?
Did you ever get it fixed? I did (probably) the exact same thing as you did (installed flashable ROM in eMMC), and it took me hours to get it straightened out
Although I can't say for sure... since I wasn't really taking notes with what I was trying... I think what eventually got me going was using a different bootable (step 1), b/c my microsd card was an off brand (lexar 8gb).
What I did was...
1) made bootable SD card with [generic-sdcard-v1.3-CM7-9-10-larger-Rev5.zip] rather than "so&so size gb card CWR.img"
2) added [nookcolor_1_4_3_signed.zip]
Before I got it to work properly, I had various types of failures-
stuck at "n" screen,
wifi wouldnt work (so I didnt get past nook first start-up process),
appeared to work ok but screen would flash all the time (your keyboard problem)
Eventually I got it sorted, and through all this trial and error, was able to properly put CM10 on sd card whilst leaving nook "original". Lol.
